“Peace and quiet in a 5 star luxury lodge - didn’t want to go home!”

We stayed at this lodge for my husband’s 40th birthday as we love the Lake District. The moment we got to the park we loved it, it’s so quiet and the lodge is set in a beautiful location. Inside the lodge there is everything you could ever need for a relaxing stay.

My children loved the park as it has a great play area and there are some great walks right on your doorstep. Would highly recommend eating in The Haybarn pub which is on site, as food was lovely!

We will definitely return, hopefully next year.

Specifically Recommend:

The best part was the peace and quiet

This property would suit anyone. We don’t have a dog but if you do it’s the perfect place to bring your dogs.

“Very good location. Lovely modern spacious cabin”

Just decided to drop everything and go to the Lakes, and what a good find this lodge cabin was! Clean, very spacious, modern and comfortable.

The location was superb, both on the park and the area. Lovely babbling stream to walk along! Great play area for kids if you have them, and great area for your dog to be let off the lead! It was ideal for our dog with the decking area all enclosed.

Recommend the Haybarn pub on site - great food and you can take your dog - such a bonus!

Would definitely go again!

Specifically Recommend:

The location of this cabin i.e the end one so no passing people or cars (not that there were many at all!)

Very good size and modern through out.

Local Gems:

The Haybarn pub on site - good food and you can take your dog inside! (note- no food served on a Wednesday!)

“Excellent quality lodges, a lovely relaxing break away from it all!!!”

We booked our lodge holiday at Limefitt Park through the website www.lakedistrictlodgeholidays.co.uk. Mark looked after our booking and was very helpful, pleasant and the customer service was fantastic. We booked 2 lodges through them and both were great.

When we arrived we found the lodge very welcoming and comfortable. It is a modern styled lodge with the type of fittings that I would have at home, so it felt very easy to settle in. It was very clean and I was very impressed that some staples were available in the lodge eg. washing liquid, sponge, toilet roll, tea bags etc...

The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice and crisp.

We were very pleased that although the lodges accept dogs it didn’t feel like dogs had ever been in there!! We have stayed in lodges before where it has felt the dog owners were given the most shabby cabin, but it was certainly not the case at all in this instance, our dogs loved it!

We used the launderette on the site which was fab too.

We would defo visit the park again and would defo book through Mark again. All in all a brilliant break.

Specifically Recommend:

The Mortal Man - excellent place for food and a great atmosphere.

“Beautiful place, park and Lodge”

Lovely lodge - Large and very comfortable with lots of extra facilities such as dishwasher DVD player etc. Towels and kitchen towels were also supplied.

The park itself is nestled in a little valley, right next to a river and is very picturesque. There is a restaurant-bar on site also which allows dogs - this was excellent as we had brought along my brother’s little dog with us for the weekend.

Lodge is suited to dog owners, families and people who enjoy walking (which goes without saying in the Lake District!).

Summary:

“A relaxing beautiful lodge in a setting you won’t want to leave”

Our stay was relaxing and it is like a home-from-home. The lodge is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country with terrific views and set in a lovely, well-maintained site that i could not fault.

The lodge’s main bedroom with en-suite has an added bonus of large walk-in wardrobe and dressing room and good sized rooms.

Ideal after a day out to come back and relax. It is ideal for anyone to come to who wants a relaxing and peaceful time.

Our Golden Retriever, OBI, loved every minute and slept for hours every night we got back from walking.

Specifically Recommend:

The Queen’s Head is a must to eat & drink at, just half a a mile walk up the main road.

A visit to the water falls near Ulleswater is a must-do especially when it’s raining and a walk from the lodge to the reservoir will give you an appetite and a visit to all the lakes and surroundings

Local Gems:

Gaggling Goose tea rooms, Ambleside - lovely raspberry and white chocolate scones

Summary:

“10 out of 10 for this excellent, spot-on log cabin. First time in a log cabin and definitely won’t be the last time”

WOW, this lodge is absolutely stunning and has to be a 5star plus, situated in a valley, which made our stay so extra special and pleasant as we just did not know what to expect having not stayed in a log cabin before.

The cabin is awesome, not wanting for anything, all cooking equipment available, everything in the cabin was so clean, tidy, spotless and so comfortably trendy - in fact it gave me a few ideas for when I arrived home! The rooms were so spacious and compact fitted with wardrobes, and to put the icing on the cake the walk-in wardrobe heated room was just ace.

Great size television (32 inch) flat screen LG in lounge area and other bedrooms also have TV. Brilliant. After a long day out touring and shopping this is just what we needed at the end of the day to relax, put our feet up and watch a choice of DVDs which were available also at the cabin. Not to mention the supply of games, books etc for kids and adults. Lots of information in the cupboards for us to look at for places to see, and maps to help you find areas, where to eat etc.

The surroundings were breathtaking, my camera was on overload for four days. A lovely stream beyond the reception area, play area also for the kids if needed.

Our King size double bed was comfortable, ample extras like pillows, covers etc bathroom en-suite in a double room and a beautiful bathroom opposite the other double room with king size bed. Spoilt for choice we were. All in all a fantastic site, clean and friendly.

If you have the weather then this is the place to sit outside on the fab decking but then again it rained for us but we didn’t let that bother us as we had our brollies!!!

Would definitely recommend this log cabin (which I already have) to anyone who wants to get away from it all for either a short break or full holiday. Ideal for any age and taking pets isn’t an issue either. Certainly came up to my expectations and more, loved everything about it. Our ideal break on our wedding anniversary, one break not to forget.

Specifically Recommend:

Take outdoor clothing (even in summer) as you never know with The Lakes when it’s going to rain being so hilly!

If visiting falls take pair of suitable footwear such as trainers or wellies if not walking boots.

Look at the Visitors’ Book which gives plenty of info on where to go, eat etc.

Drive carefully, lots of bends, small roads and not forgetting animals could be near the roadside roaming from the hills.

PS - I must add that making this booking and the communication by Mark via the website was second to none. He was very polite, helpful and advised us on various aspects of The Lakes. I mentioned that my husband liked to go fishing and he sent me a website where he could go. That puts the icing on the cake when they are as helpful as this. The emails were easy to understand and straightforward to print off the various information about the log cabin in which we were booking. A credit to the website I say.

Local Gems:

Trip on boat at Windermere Lake.

Visit to Ullswater a must, lovely spectacular fall.

Plenty of shopping area in Windermere, fantastic kitchen-gadget shop.
