“A wonderful stay!”
What a gem! So, so comfortable and welcoming.
Peter and Helen treated us like royalty, nothing was too much trouble for them and they really did make us feel at home.
The rooms and furnishings throughout are beautiful and really nice quality bedding, it makes such a difference.
Breakfast was exceptionally good, very varied and the cooked breakfast menu offered excellent quality local produce superbly cooked by Helen.
Helen was also responsible for the wonderful cakes that were left out for all to enjoy, and if we happened to bump into Peter when helping ourselves, two pots of tea would appear too!
Peter is a fantastic host, always interested in what we planned to do or what we had already done and always had suggestions to make our time more enjoyable..... and he was always right.
We had a fantastic stay at the Somerville and plan to become regular visitors. You will not regret staying there, 5 stars are not enough.
Breakfast and the cakes!

“Great place, great hosts”
Excellent accommodation - we stayed in the Garden Suite.
Breakfast was of an excellent standard no streaky bacon here.
A nice touch was the homemade cake made available every afternoon. A word of warning here, avoid the fudge and flapjack cake as it is disgustingly fattening and ever so moreish. Very welcome after a day
s sightseeing with a cup of tea or coffee. overall an excellent stay.

“The Best B&B Ever”
The Best B&B we have every stayed in! The hosts were perfect, the facilities great and the food was absolutely awesome! Breakfast consists of a huge cold buffet which features local produce and home baking. This is followed by the most extensive hot breakfast menu and nothing is too much trouble.
Coupled with cake available throughout the stay, it’s a good job The Somerville is conveniently placed for walks into Torquay, the Promenade and Countryside!
A brilliant, relaxing stay and one to be recommended to all.

“This excellent B&B was the ideal place from which to explore Torbay”
Peter and Helen made us feel very welcome indeed. We found our accommodation spacious, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and kept us going all day. Peter and Helen are genial hosts and Peter in particular demonstrated ample local knowledge which was much appreciated whether it was suggesting interesting places to visit or where to eat or how to get around the area.
Cake for guests could be found under the stairs each day which we took full advantage of and was always delicious.
Off-road parking is ample and we also spent time relaxing in the garden which was well maintained and not overlooked.
The B&B is a short walk to the marina and many of the local restaurants which we found extremely convenient.
We found the breakfasts to be excellent and the short walk to the marina and town to be very convenient.
Local Gems:The coastal path to Babbacombe was lovely with great views.

“One of the Best B&Bs we have been in”
The place was amazing, small and friendly. Hosts were excellent and also breakfast staff very helpful. Breakfast was very very good and freshly cooked. Room was very nice and clean with lots of little extras like jar of sweets. Also had free homemade cake in afternoon.
It was also close to shops and seafront, maybe a five minute walk. Parking was also very good with private car park and security cameras, we were able to leave car there during stay which made life easier for us.
Peter and Helen were amazing so I would recommend them to anyone, they have pride in what they do and make your stay a lovely experience.
Try the homemade cake, it was fabulous.
Local Gems:We went to The Kent, which is a pub-restaurant about 10 minutes’ walk up the hill to left, good service and food.
Also went to Biancos if you like Italian food, again service and quality was excellent
Babbacombe is only a 10 minute drive away and nice place to visit, Angels tea rooms offers nice food and good service.

“The perfect Boutique hotel in Torbay”
A First class boutique hotel, that would be extremely difficult to better.
We have used many boutique hotels over the last 25 years and the Somerville we consider to be the best we have stayed in.
The garden suite we chose for our break was just perfect.
Our hosts Peter & Helen were the perfect hosts, Helen’s homemade cakes that were available every afternoon were excellent.
The breakfast choices were extensive and all cooked to perfection.
If you want a perfect stay in a boutique hotel in Torbay look no further.
Perfect for couples who enjoy individuality and First class accommodation

“Tip top, top tip not sure we will find anywhere in Torquay quite like the experience we had. Worth every penny”
When 5 star really means 5 Stars.... What a gem of a find in the ever-evolving Torquay. Greeted like we were the only guests, that touch followed through the whole three day journey.
Rooms well over and above expectation which leads me to breakfast.... Or could it be renamed BreakFeast... Ample choice for both my children and I leaving us nicely fuelled for the days events.
If you read this and choose elsewhere then I wish you luck... You may need it!
I recommend you get booked in....

“Fabulous holiday accommodation in Torquay - second to none”
What a fantastic place! Excellent, friendly and helpful staff and superb accommodation. The location for us was first rate as we were travelling to various other places and the hotel was ideally located for getting in and out without having to dodge queues of traffic in the main thoroughfare of Torquay.
Our room was perfect, beautifully furnished with lots of extras normally only found in 5 star accommodation.
The choices of meals offered on the breakfast menu were the best I have come across and each was superbly cooked and presented.
We ate at three top class local restaurants in the evenings, all within 10 minutes’ easy walk.
There was a fine view from the breakfast room and we found the accommodation very quiet at night.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area.

“Good location for sightseeing in Torquay ”
Welcoming and comfortable hotel. The owners were helpful and pointed us in the direction of local attractions and entertainment.
The choice of breakfast was exceptional and the staff very pleasant and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable our only disappointment was it was dark as the window looked onto a wall of the extension.
Location good walking distance of harbour and town. Parking at the hotel.

“The Somerville gives comfort and quality!”
My wife and I have been coming to the South Hams for 27 years. Initially we stayed in Brixham but are now based in Torquay.
The Somerville is without doubt the best hotel that we have stayed in. Although there has been a change in ownership the standard has not diminished.
We will certainly be coming back and we would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Torquay. Try it and be convinced.
The breakfast selection is excellent and the decor and comfort of the rooms takes some beating.

“A first rate guest house, where the customer comes first, run by professionals who know exactly what the guest needs for a great stay”
We read the reviews and the Somerville delivered. Made to feel welcome on arrival, nothing was too much trouble. The room was as described, clean fresh and well equipped. Comfy bed, modern bathroom and quiet at night, it all added to the quality of our stay.
Breakfasts were superb, with a great range of choices and excellent hot breakfasts, we tried a different choice each and were not disappointed (and we just couldn’t resist the cake!)
Overall, an excellent stay, and a real pleasure to return back too at the end of a day spent exploring the English Riviera.

“A lovely friendly small hotel”
The Somerville is very well positioned for access to the sea front. Our room was a suite and was lovely. The bathroom was large with a roll-top bath and separate shower.
There were many little extras, such as a small jar of sweets in the room replenished every day, fresh milk available and afternoon cake or biscuits available - all home made. The breakfasts were particularly good with a very attractive buffet as well as a variety of cooked options.

“Friendly, comfortable and quiet B&B within walking distance of harbour and restaurants”
We had bicycles with us and the owner cleared space in his shed to enable us to store them securely. The room was actually a small apartment (bedroom, bathroom and small living room) leading onto a terrace and garden via patio doors.
It was private, clean and just the right size for two people. Very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Great breakfast at a sensible time and very helpful staff. Location was uphill within a 10 mins walk from the harbour and restaurants meaning the noise and bustle from the town did not reach us.
We felt as if it was our own place rather than that feeling of intruding in someone’s home.
Local Gems:Cockington village. Follow the signs off the main road to Paignton - never expected what we found - thatched roofs, little cafes. Beautiful.

“A comfortable and very well run privately-owned hotel”
Unfortunately our stay was marred a little because we were late arrivals and the PIN we were given for the front door was incorrect. We managed to find somewhere to eat and returned around 10pm and a guest, returning from dinner, let us in.
The room was very comfortable and quiet, and we had a very enjoyable breakfast before departing the next day.

“Excellent stay and amazing breakfast”
Visited The Somerville to enjoy the last night of our holiday and what a fabulous stay it was. The owners, Peter and Helen, were very welcoming on arrival, bedrooms were really lovely - we had a suite - gorgeous bathroom with a huge bath and even had a TV to watch while in the tub.
Close walk to town with plenty to do in the evening for food etc. In the morning breakfast was cooked by Helen and served by the polite, friendly staff and Peter - it was delicious, local bacon, sausage and poached eggs and all cooked to perfection - lots of fresh buffet continental too.
I cannot recommend enough and can’t wait to go back. The kids are very much missing their lovely dog Coco too.

“Very pleasant visit for someone who hasn’t stayed in a B&B in years”
Nice relaxing stay at the Somerville. Owners very accommodating and helpful.
Nice distance from the centre of town allowing a relaxed 10 minute walk to the harbour.
Nice clean rooms, I did find it too hot the first night but that was due to the radiator being on its highest so a good thing to check when arriving, and much better sleep the following nights.
Good to have off road parking with easy access
Definitely recommend

“Perfect stay”
Excellent B & B, very central to restaurants and the best breakfast we have ever had.
Lovely rooms with lovely touches like sweets, dressing gowns, home made cake every day and fresh milk.
Will be returning and would upgrade to a suite as they look really nice too, but our room was lovely for our needs, clean en suite.
We found out on our last day that the owners had only taken over that week but you would have never known, you will not regret booking here

“A very comfortable, luxurious stay!”
Hotel lived up to its reputation on the reviews we had read prior to our stay. We had upgraded ourselves to the Sommerville suite and it was very luxurious room and very comfortable.
Breakfast was absolutely fantastic!
Service was very attentive.
Shower was a bit hot and cold but other than that it was a fantastic place to stay and would definitely come again!
Thank you for a lovely experience.

“A comfortable, enjoyable stay”
The building looks very nice from the outside and outstanding inside. We were also greeted by name by the host.
There was a fridge in the suite with a complimentary bottle of water and there was fresh milk and cake left out in the hallway for guests to help themselves.
We would specifically recommend the suites as The Somerville Suite had a TV in each room including the bathroom.
Be Aware:The establishment is located on a hill so that could cause problems for some guests.
Local Gems:There is a theatre by the harbour and shops and lots of places to eat.

“Complete Luxury.”
My husband and I wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 21st anniversary. We certainly couldn’t have chosen better. The welcome was lovely and the hall was delightful.
Our bedroom could be described as very special. There were little personal touches ie a tiny Kilner jar by the bed filled with chocolate eggs. The shower room had plenty of goodies too. But it was the bed linen that was gorgeous.
The breakfast was superb and had loads to choose from.
The hotel was very convenient for the shopping centre and attractions, being only a few minutes’ walk away.
But Grant and Adam were the stars and very friendly.
If you want luxury, then here is the very place.

“One of the best if not THE best B&B we have stayed in”
This is the second time we have stayed at the Somerville and both times we have found it to be of a very high standard.
From rooms to breakfast to cleanliness. The owners and staff were very welcoming
My wife suffers with asthma and they changed all the bedding without a quibble
It is an ideal place to be to tour the West Country
Our stay was so good when we got home the next day we have booked again for April 2016
The place is so relaxing and only 10 min walk from town centre
Local Gems:We travelled to Padstow, and up West coast from there

“What a treat”
Amazing accommodation, with a very warm welcome on arrival. Spotlessly clean and warm. Within easy walking distance of the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants.
The breakfast choice was amazing and there was even a lovely choice of homemade cakes for you to have in the afternoon to help yourself to.
Car parking was spacious and the whole weekend was a wonderful treat. Over and above what we expected and will definitely be going back

“Beautiful Boutique B&B Hotel. Will be back”
Beautiful boutique hotel. 5 min walk to harbour-town centre. The little touches in the room were a treat..mini eggs and jelly beans.. Ideal for the sweet tooth. And bottled water very handy when you drink through the night.
Would definitely be staying again when we come for a holiday in Devon. Ideally placed for a base stop.
The breakfast was one of the best we’d had in all the hotels we have stayed in.
Everything you could want from a B&B hotel with a little bit more.
Would recommend the whole experience of staying at the Somerville.

“Devon Riviera Gem”
Absolute gem! Cannot fault anything, beautifully furnished rooms and well equipped - iron ironing board, hair drier etc, shampoo, conditioner etc in the bathroom, tea-coffee making facilities plus a fridge in the hallway with jugs of fresh milk (which you can then put into a fridge in your room) and the most delicious cake to have with your afternoon cup of tea, also a small jar of sweets by the bedside.
Everything was spotlessly clean too.
We were spoilt for choice at breakfast, everything but everything on the cold buffet! The hot choice was extensive too, first morning I chose Eggs Benedict and the next morning it was scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. My husband had the full English both mornings, everything was beautifully cooked and the service was so good and friendly.
Plenty of parking at the hotel, we did not use our car all, walked into the centre and just used buses to get to Paignton for the steam train to Dartmouth. We rang before our visit for advice on local restaurants and was emailed a very helpful list of recommended eateries - The Old Vienna was superb!
I really would not consider staying anywhere other than The Somerville when in Torquay and have been singing its praises to friends.
The Somerville is ideally situated - the town centre and excellent restaurants are within walking distance, it is an uphill walk back from the centre and Harbour but there are plenty of buses which stop close to the hotel if the hill is a problem.
Local Gems:The Old Vienna Restaurant - one of the best meals we have had recently.
The Dart Valley Steam Railway from Paignton to Dartmouth. Dartmouth is a lovely small town to browse round
Totnes, very pretty riverside town with some lovely shops and restaurants although rather too many charity shops

“Look no further. Book the Somerville.”
We normally stay in 5-star hotels, but just wanted a very short break at late notice. What a surprise! This has to be up there with the very best.
Hospitality second to none, with everything you could expect of the very best. Right down to the complimentary home-made afternoon cakes and jar of chocolate mini eggs. And all just a short stroll from the seafront.
Exceptional quality breakfast and afternoon cakes.

“Perfect place to relax with easy access to local attractions and friendly staff”
I wanted a convenient place to stay within walking distance of the shops and places to eat whilst on a short honeymoon. The Somerville ticked all the boxes and more.
Not only was I supplied with recommended places to eat but help was always available when enquiring about places of interest to go and visit.
Champagne was ordered for arrival but extra touches like chocolates (first day) and jelly beans were very nice
I would recommend the Garden Suite as you can come and go as you please without having to go through the main building.
The Somerville also promotes local suppliers, the freshly cooked breakfast was delicious
The Old Vienna Restaurant (Sunday evening)
Hanburys Fish Bar
The House of Beauty
Greenway House (Agatha Christie Holiday Home)
Didn’t stop en-route, but The Somerville recommended by-passing Newon Abbot by going along the A381 & A3797 via Shaldon and as the weather was clear it was a lovely drive

“The Somerville in Torquay has set a standard that all others must aspire to”
On our return home from a wonderful stay at the Somerville I received an email from Adam and Grant thanking us for our visit and if we could advise them on anything that could improve their service. I would find that one of the most difficult and almost impossible tasks to undertake, first of all the location could not be better, room to park at the hotel, just a short walk to the harbour and town centre.
The accommodation could not have been better, clean, welcoming and quiet with nice touches such as bathrobes and cakes and milk to supplement the plentiful supply of beverages. The breakfast is something that most of us look forward to during a short break but at times can be underwhelming, this is certainly not the case at the Somerville. The breakfast was the best we have ever experienced even when staying in a five star hotel, it would be far easier to describe what wasn’t available rather than point out what was. Grapefruit, strawberries, blueberries, melon, pears, prunes, grapes, bananas and more. Cereals, muesli, granola, yogurt, juices and even trifle, yes a surprise but a glorious one. Best of all, the range of what you could choose to have cooked was simply stunning. A traditional English breakfast, eggs cooked every way possible, even my wife’s favourite Eggs Royale.
But I’ll leave the best till last, the hosts. Adam and Grant have provided their guests with the best experience possible and may I add the lovely girl who helped serve our breakfast. They were on hand to offer advice on where to eat or where to visit, they were the perfect hosts. I can’t thank them enough in helping us to have one of the best short breaks we have ever experienced.
Accommodation, breakfast, location and hosts.

“If you are looking for a quality stay, this is the place”
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home.We arrived early but our room was ready. The attention to detail at the hotel was fantastic. Only a short walk into Torquay and five minutes from Babbacombe.
Mini chocolate eggs at the bed side table, cakes and pastries left out for the guests were lovely touches. The breakfast was well presented and delicious. The staff were great, nothing too much trouble for them.
Overall a fantastic boutique hotel. If you are thinking of going to Torquay for a break this hotel is a must.

“Find a reason to visit the Sommerville!!!”
We recently had a three night stay at this wonderful establishment. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the ambience of the place is wonderful.
We had a ground floor room which was well set out and decorated. In the foyer, there is a small fridge with fresh milk to help yourself, together with different cakes every day. In addition, there are sweets in the room. Just a little touch which makes a difference.
The breakfast was exceptional with a buffet containing a great variety of fruit, yoghurt, little individual items, such as yoghurt pots with fruit, Bircher muesli etc. This is followed by a cooked breakfast to order. What more could you ask for....
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Torquay.
Everything about the hotel is fantastic

“A GEM IN TORQUAY”
Ideally situated in the centre of Torquay, The Somerville is a great place to stay. You feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Room was set up as requested, lovely and clean, comfortable beds, easy walk-in shower. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

“A truly exceptional gem on the English Riviera”
A truly exceptional hotel. Warm, welcoming friendly with a real eye for detail that made our stay beautifully memorable.
The effort that Adam and Grant go to with the little touches whether that be wine, nibbles, sweeties, quality of bathroom toiletries, quality of the mugs for your morning brew all go way beyond expectations. And as for the afternoon cake under the stairs....genius.
Breakfast was superb. Freshly cooked, varied and of the very best quality. We will be back!

“Couldn’t fault any of it”
Very friendly people own-run this hotel and if you’re after a bit of luxury then this is the place to choose. Such a tasteful hotel with well equipped rooms, quiet at night.
We had never seen a breakfast laid out so invitingly - a whole counter of the most scrumptious delights like smoothies, compotes, fancy yoghurts, juices along with fresh fruit and berries and the main staples such as an array of breakfast cereals, jams, marmalades and that’s all before you’re offered a full English breakfast - spoilt...you will be. All the produce they use is sourced locally.
It has lovely grounds with a pretty and relaxing garden too.
Beautiful boutique hotel that thought of absolutely everything from the essentials like a mini fridge, iron and board, hairdryer even to sugared almonds in a little jar by the bed, bathrobes in the en-suite and putting cakes and fresh milk & cream out for guests to help themselves.
Be Aware:We felt the High Street (main shopping area in Torquay) wasn’t all that and was a bit of a let down considering how nice the rest of the place is, but this was the only disappointment.
Local Gems:Fantastic Italian restaurant, in same road, served lovely food and did their utmost to fit us in even on busy nights - great service and lively, friendly atmosphere.
Coastal sea-life type centre and wonderful local museum which was also in the same road as hotel.
Great walks around the harbour and more than enough eateries around the seafront.
Plenty of places to have a drink and two Weatherspoons in the town help the purse strings, especially if there’s many of you, as their prices are very reasonable.
If the weather is good DO visit Babbacombe Bay, it’s breath-taking.
Easily central for visits to Brixham, Paignton, Babbacombe, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Dartmouth, Kingswear, which all have their own delightful attractions and though we didnt visit Exeter it isnt that far from Torquay for a visit and we were told it is the best shopping area in those parts.

“Wonderful stay, would definitely return”
Would totally recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Torquay. We stayed in Room 1 which was a good size, very nicely decorated and very clean. The conservatory was a lovely place to have breakfast, the choices of food and drink were varied and everything we had was cooked perfectly. The free cake available every day was a nice touch, we especially loved the brownies and the lemon cake.
The on-site parking is a real bonus and the location is great, only a couple of minutes’ walk to the town centre and close to lots of attractions.
The owners and staff were very welcoming and helpful, offering us restaurant recommendations and general advice for getting around.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Nice comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities in room and fresh milk available all the time.
Very nicely decorated and very clean throughout.
Central location, easy to explore the area on foot and by bus.
We loved The Shack restaurant nearby, the burgers and fries were amazing, all freshly made and top quality.
We also enjoyed Kents Cavern and the Model Village at Babbacombe.

“Most luxurious hotel with wonderful staff breakfast and facilities”
Literally brilliant hotel! Bathroom was amazing. Bed was too good! They have thought of every little detail! Breakfast is served with such a smile! So nice in the morning! Intro as you arrive is great! All the information without someone taking up your time.
Garden is just insane if you have a suite! We enjoyed it in the morning after breakfast reading the paper, enjoying the sun for an hour before we went out. You can even go and pick up fresh milk and cake from the little area at the front. Which is great if like us you get back in at 5... And just want a tea with some cake! Literally so great all round! Oh and the restaurant guide is wonderful!
Go here if you want to relax be spoilt, enjoy the seaside and great breakfast

“Cannot possibly get a better place to stay in Torquay, or in fact in the south west”
This is one of many visits, all perfect. Stayed in most of their rooms, and all meet and exceed my high expectations. Forget all the run of the mill five star hotels that offer everything under the sun, and give this wonderful B&B a try.
Hosts, Adam and Grant, are ready to make your visit extra special as they have been in the travel business for years and know what people expect. The only thing missing is waking up to a sea view but with the quality of furnishings and the best best breakfast I have ever had in the UK, I will forgive them not running a B&B overlooking the bay. Wishing them continued sucesss.

Our second visit and an absolute delight. Adam and Grant have created a wonderful environment at the Somerville. From the superb breakfasts to the wonderful homemade complimentary cakes and don’t forget about the stylish furnishings.
The rooms and suites are furnished to a very high standard with large comfortable beds, elegant furniture and spotlessly clean bathrooms. There is ample, safe parking to the rear, and restaurants and shops are in easy walking distance. And you will need to walk a bit to burn off the delicious breakfasts!
Good location.

“Friendly and comfy hotel.. Definitely recommend”
We had stayed in the Somerville about three years ago and had such a great experience we returned last week for a couple of days.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The little extras make your stay more special.
Location is great, only a short walk until you are at the harbour in Torquay.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I am sure we will return again for another short break in the future.
Bedrooms well designed and all you need for a comfy night’s sleep
Very accommodating with breakfast requests too.
We visited Baccacombe beach which was nice and quiet.

“We were so lucky to find such a gem”
The Somerville far surpassed our wildest dreams. From the warm welcome to the present on departure we could not fault this B&B. Our room was lovely with beautiful decor and with a good sized and immaculate en-suite. The breakfasts are quite amazing with a great variety of cold starters and a lovely choice of freshly cooked dishes using the best of ingredients. Unusual touches like toast coming in bags to keep it warm throughout the meal.
Adam and Grant were excellent hosts and gave us very good recommendations for places to eat in the evening. It was only a short walk down to the harbour area where there were loads of eating places to suit all. The on-site parking was another very welcome point.
We just can’t speak highly enough of the Somerville and certainly hope to visit again - if we can get in. Just can’t recommend it highly enough.

“Really pretty, glamorous B&B in Torquay”
This was my second stay at the Somerville and it was just as delightful as the first time. Our twin room was very comfortable and immaculately presented. The en-suite shower was large and the sparkling clean. The beds and bed linen were so comfortable we both fell asleep in minutes.
The breakfast served in the Garden Room is truly exceptional. Waitress service at your table and help yourself to the buffet. My friend and I both chose the vegetarian option, and you could have your eggs as you liked them. The service was quick and efficient. Tables laid out beautifully and the breakfast room has a very welcoming atmosphere.
Adam is a marvellous host, just the right level of hospitality and not overbearing at all.
All in all, a fantastic stay and next time I plan on taking my Mum along.
Breakfast.

“An overall lovely experience and one that we will be repeating again and bringing more friends and family to”
The Somerville was very deserving of its 5 star status and was extremely accommodating to the needs of our small party which included my seven month old daughter.
There was a high chair set up for breakfast on both mornings and a truly welcoming atmosphere.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone wanting a relaxing and beautiful surrounding whilst in Torquay.
The breakfast choice was excellent!!

“An obvious choice next time in Devon”
From the photos we had seen we expected a well located, pleasant and comfortable stay in Torquay. And it turned out to be even better. The staff was nice and service-minded, the rooms splended and the breakfast good and individually suited.
The location was nice, just a couple of minutes’ walk to the harbour and the city with all the restaurants. Parking lots in the yard made it easy for us who used car. The location was also convenient if you like us want to make some car trips to places in Devon or Cornwall.
Anyway this place is an obvious choice next time in Devon.
Local beer
Be Aware:The only negative comments would be the lack of lunch or dinner restaurant in the hotel, but then its a nice walk to a whole lot of them nearby, and a poorly working water-tap in the room.
Local Gems:The Hole in the Wall. Nice pub with good food.
En Route:The Coleton Fishacre Garden. Nice garden and house. Great views over the sea just outside the garden.

“Very comfortable and spotlessly clean hotel”
My elderly mum and myself stayed at The Somerville for three nights and were very impressed as Adam booked us into a ground floor room. The room was in pristeen condition and the bed was so comfortable.
There was cake and fruit available every day to help our selves which was very unexpected, also a variety of teas and coffee.
There was a great variety of breakfast choices available.
We would highly recommend this hotel to any of our family and friends that want to stay in Torquay. Even though the hotel is situated on the main Babbacombe Road it is very quiet and no noise from the road.
I would highly recommend an early booking at this hotel as it’s so very clean and comfortable, with excellent hosts.

“Highly recommended”
This is an excellent bed and breakfast. Lovely room, nicely furnished, excellent breakfast and great location in Torquay, within walking distance of the town centre and marina.
On-site parking was an added bonus and the hosts were charming. We could not think of a single way in which it could be better.
Room 8 was lovely with a settee in the window area to sit and relax.

“Excellent hotel, highly recommend”
Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is ideally located a short walk from the town centre and harbour. Our room was spacious, clean and included a good selection of teas and coffees. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on.
Adam and all the staff are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Top Notch”
We have been staying at this hotel since 2008 whenever we are in the Torquay area for a break having first been recommended by a friend. We have subsequently recommended on to many of our friends.
Conveniently located just out of the centre on Babbacombe Road it is a great place and I think this was about our 10th visit. Very tastefully decorated, rooms that have everything you need plus some lovely little extra touches which I think sets it apart from many other places.
Spotlessly clean throughout, picturesque conservatory-type area to take your breakfast which is fantastic. The hosts, Adam and Grant, will give you any advice you need with regards to places to visit, the best restaurants, etc. Returning guests can get a discount and it is the only place we would stay in this area.
Recommend you take a look at their web site where you can see the various rooms and check availability.
Local Gems:Ask Adam or Grant for advice of where to go and eat if you are unfamiliar with the area.

“Owners are very thoughtful and considerate to their guests and the breakfast food was fantastic”
At the Somerville the little touches were the big things for me. Homemade cake and milk in a fridge on offer throughout the day.
Excellent location for us as we just wanted to wander down the front and have a look around.
Organisation of our arrival was smooth and effortless as we knew we were going to be late in the evening arriving.
I would recommend this property to couples as it is quiet and sophisticated. I think the owners are very accommodating to all that walk through the doors, therefore it is suitable for families and people with disabilities.
You are within walking distance from the waterfront which is lovely to walk and visit the area. With this the owners were fantastic with advice! they gave us a map and suggested where to eat. This was a great help.
Local Gems:We went on the ferry to Dartmouth and back on the steam train. We felt this was a lovely day out and the ferry had a local gentleman speaking of the surrounding area.
En Route:We were travelling from Essex, so on the return journey we stopped at Stonehenge, which is a nice tourist attraction.

“Absolutly Brilliant”
This was our second visit back to the Somerville, and the first time we have ever stayed at the same hotel twice. That shows just how good the Somerville is. There is nothing at all negative that can be said against the Somerville, or Adam & Grant’s hospitality.
We stayed in the Somerville suite this time, and it was absolutely lovely. The bed was comfy and the whole room was very clean and well presented.
Breakfast at the Somerville is a real treat, with lots of choice. All of the cooked breakfast ingredients are best quality with most being local organic produce. Adam & Grant cannot do enough for you to make your stay as pleasurable as possibe. We will be going back to the Somerville for sure, and hopefully soon!

“The very best time, as always”
For the last 10 years we have returned time and time again, we have taken family and friends and we have seen it grow from OK right up to the top of the tree.In all that time we have never been let down by Adam, Grant or any of their staff.
Sean was over the moon with the Apple docking station and having his own bedroom, also playing with the dogs. The hotel directory is constantly updated with all the best restaurants in the area, and any new attractions to go and explore.

“Fantastic stay, will be back!!”
We stayed in the Garden Suite for two nights, a luxurious and comfortable two days. Attention to detail, with the extra touches that you just do not see in most guest houses. Immaculate throughout, and you are guaranteed a great night’s sleep. You waken to a superb breakfast, and the service is first class.
The town is only a short walk down the hill, and we had the advantage of tesding the Somerville own list of where to and not to dine. We would recommend the Greek-Turkish restaurant, great value for money. I don’t review often and we are not part of the complaining set!! However, we both felt that our stay at The Somerville needed to be read by anyone looking for somewhere to stay in this part of England. I will recommend to family and friends this guest house and to anyone staying in Torquay.
Thank you for a relaxing stay, and we will return in the future. (If we can get in, based on these reviews!!)

“Very comfortable. High standard and excellent location. A real treat for a special occasion or long weekend break”
This was our third stay at the Somerville. We returned because the place is wonderful. Very high standards in every possible way. Beautiful rooms, immaculate and comfortable. Excellent breakfast which is always amazing.
In short we have stayed all around the country and find it hard to beat the Somervile every time. The owners, Grant and Adam, are the nicest people you could meet and take pride and seem passionate about their work. We will definitely return regularly .

“Somerville B&B - Fab Fab Fab”
My husband and myself stayed at The Somerville B&B. The property and the location were outstanding. We stayed in the garden suite 12 with our own patio and the gardens were lovely - great outdoor space to sit and relax.
The breakfast was more than we hoped for - fresh fruit each morning, great service, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. In the afternoons we were offered home made cake which was to die for (the chocolate one was my favorite one). Fresh fruit available each day. This B&B is outstanding A JEWEL IN THE CROWN.
I would recommend this B&B - it exceed all our expectations. Well done Adam and many thanks for all you did to make our stay enjoyable.
Where do I begin...... If you want outdoor space or a roll top bath where you can watch TV in or just want a touch of luxury this is the place for you. Get booking!

“Just Fantastic”
We decide to go somewhere for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and chose Torquay as we have never been there before.
The hotel meet our expectation and more, we felt very welcome, everyone was friendly and accommodating, the host made it very special for us as they gave our suite the personal touch which a lot of bigger hotels do not think of. The breakfast is great.
I cannot think of anywhere more fitting to spend our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to our next stay.

“As good as the reviews!”
We spent 2 nights at the Somerville in February 2014. We were looking for a relaxing two day break in a quality hotel, and that’s definitely what we found!
The service, rooms, breakfast and location were all first class.
The hotel is definitely a home-from-home, and it really is as good as the reviews suggest.
We will definitely return, and would recommend to anyone.

“The best bed and breakfast I have stayed in, like staying in a top hotel.”
Such an amazing bed and breakfast. The staff there could not do enough for you. The suite we stayed in was truly amazing. I have not stayed in anything as extravagant before.
The breakfasts were beautiful, you had a continental breakfast buffet followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice.
Before our arrival at the B&B they also sent a list of recommended restaurants in the area and other local areas so we could pre-book to avoid disappointment.
Definitely staying here again, very highly recommended.

“Best luxury hotel ... quality is their priority”
Friendly owners, very welcoming, gorgeous decor, very clean, excellent breakfast, nice touch a bowl of sweets every day in our room, jugs of fresh milk readily available with homemade cakes and fresh fruit.

“Fantastic B&B - no negatives at all”
The Somerville is an excellent place to stay, the attention to detail is superb. Adam & Grant and the rest of the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
The breakfasts are just to die for, only problem is you can put weight on as just so much choice! The biscuits and brownies and flapjacks, and the organic milk are out of this world.
If we could give more than 5 stars we would.
The beautiful rooms and the food

“There is a place.....”
Quintessential English Hospitality at its supreme best. The Hosts’ attention to detail, warmth and good humour add to the elegance of this superb B&B.
Spotlessly clean and well deserving of its accolades. Commanding a very accessible location close to the harbour and well within walking distance of many fine places to eat.
Check their website for last minute availability but generally one to book in advance.

“Wonderful hotel”
The hotel is the cleanest I have visited. The breakfast is fantastic, excellent choices. Many little extras - sweets in your room, cookies, cakes and even a i-phone charger in your room.
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The owners are really friendly and very helpful. About 5 to 10 minute walk to the harbour and shopping centre.
The breakfast is most recommended

“Don’t go anywhere else!”
We have stayed at The Somerville before, and came back because it is head and shoulders, the best B&B we have found in Torquay.
We were not disappointed - the room was lovely, the food gorgeous, the welcome and advice very friendly. It is only 10 minutes’ walk from the sea front, and there is ample off-road parking.
Decor is stylish and a little eccentric, but in a very very good way. Also, Hector the Dachshund is a local TV star! Highly recommended!
Comfortable, well appointed rooms.

“The best place to stay in Torquay!”
Beautiful hotel in a great location for all the local attractions.
The owners have a wealth of knowledge on the local area and are incredibly welcoming.
We stay every year as you couldn’t ask for more.
Take the owners’ advice of where to eat for for special occasions or just dining out for a treat.

“The best place to stay..you won’t be disappointed”
Last minute booking for a few days’ away and what a great choice we made.
The location is ideal, near enough to the harbour restaurants & shops to walk to. With parking too which is a bonus
As we arrived and drove in, the garden looked wonderful colourful and very pretty. We were impressed.
We stayed in The Garden Suite which was just so lovely and comfortable. The doors opening out onto the garden with our own table and chairs was very special and as it was such glorious weather made it even better.
The bed was huge and very comfy..only problem was I did have to leap onto it as it was high ..for me !!!!
The bathroom was divine with the biggest bath I’ve ever seen and what luxury.. a TV in the bathroom ..we were very spoilt !!
The little extras that we had, fresh cookies, fruit and flapjacks available. The fresh organic milk, real coffee, the bowl of sweets in the room every day..never seen that before. Wonderful
Also the very helpful list of places to eat ..and not to eat was a great help
The breakfast was excellent..not only the choice, but the attention to detail in presentation and taste.
Using local and organic foods is the way forward. The granola and smoothie pots were divine.
I am a Catering Manager and am very critical usually of food and service, but I was just so impressed with the excellent quality of the food, drink, and the service. Adam made sure everyone was looked after in a friendly manner...We didn’t see much of Grant ..bless him he was slaving hard in the kitchen !!!!
To be honest this is the best place we have ever stayed in. Since we have been home we have been telling everyone about it.
So thank you Adam & Grant, Oscar ,Hector and the other staff for being so welcoming, friendly and making our stay better than ever.
Keep up the good work you are Brilliant..we will be back

Attention to detail is superb. Cannot recommend you enough

“Fabulous boutique hotel”
Well located hotel, with nicely tended gardens at the front. Private parking, always a must for us. Lovely decor and comfortable rooms with well appointed en-suite facilities. Good quality fixtures and fittings.
Loved the complimentary robes, cookies, fruit and sweeties. Food served was locally sourced where possible and of excellent quality. If you are looking for an excellently run hotel with charming hosts, you will find it here. Highly recommended.
The huge choice at breakfast. Fabulous
Be Aware:The only tiny negative was being greeted by two, although very cute, barking dogs. We do like dogs, but prefer not to find them in our hotel. That said it would not deter us from visiting again.

’’Thank you so much for your lovely review and we are pleased that you would like to return. Our 2 miniature Dachshunds, Oscar and Hector, are generally kept away from the public areas however sometimes they sneak out to say hello as they love meeting new people!
They are very much part of The Somerville and many guests love to see them. Having said that we are mindful that not all guests are dog lovers and do try to be sensitive to the needs of all of our guests’’ - Grant

“A top quality hotel and a must-stay-at venue if planning a trip to Torquay”
Having made our booking on the back of so many positive reviews, we had such high expectations and I am pleased to confirm we were not at all disappointed.
The location is perfect to discover all the highlights that Torquay has on offer.
Prior to our arrival Adam kindly emailed a comprehensive list of local places to eat which enabled us to choose a suitable restaurant to celebrate my birthday.
Accommodation is just delightful and real quality. Room facilities and all round service was excellent. The breakfasts were most enjoyable with so much variety and choice.
In summary, a top class hotel that definitely justifies its 5 Star quality rating.
Make sure you plan your stay to ensure you take advantage of the discounts available.

“If you’re looking for a Top Performing Hotel, with Excellent Accommodation, Great Hospitality, and Obvious Attention to Detail, this hotel is recommended, based on our memorable stay”
The Somerville fully lived up to its 5 Star Rating, the Customer Reviews and High Scores allocated in reviews that we read prior to our stay. It was excellent in all respects.
The standard of Customer Service was extremely high as well as being offered in a professional and very helpful manner, by Adam, who looked after us so very well, aided by his professional and friendly staff, who together made us feel very welcome.
We would enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone seeking excellence, a warm welcome, and a class act as far as the hotel experience is concerned

“Excellent accommodation”
We were accommodated superbly. Recently we have been on cruise ships but our stay at The Somerville easily matched or even bettered the care and attention that you expect on such a holiday.
Every request was dealt with in a relaxed and friendly manner. All the staff were pleasant, neat and tidy.
The place is immaculate. Rooms beautifully decorated, with attention to detail. Breakfast second to none, with so many wonderful selections....totally spoilt for choice. Would certainly visit again. Well recommended.

“Luxury and elegance - a treasure on the English Riviera!”
This has to be the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. From the welcome by Grant to the most excellent breakfasts hosted by Adam, the Somerville is truly magnificent. Everything is spotlessly clean and with furnishings of high quality.
The breakfasts were superb - the hot choice was varied and beautifully cooked. I went for a mushroom and bacon omelette on the first day and everyone else had to have one the next day because it was so delicious.
Cake, fruit and cookies were freely available to take up to your room, organic milk also. The fridge had chilled water and the tea and coffee facilities were comprehensive and varied.
The breakfasts, and the Somerville Suite, a beautiful room with roll top bath, plasma TV, and quality bedding for a lovely night’s sleep

“Excellent is every way possible”
A jewel on the English Riviera...
The Somerville deserves (exceeds) every one of its outstanding reviews. It is a wonderful oasis, so utterly different from the bland, corporate type of hotel that lacks any personality.
As comfortable and well appointed as anyone could hope, Adam and Grant make everyone as welcome as old friends - and that makes a BIG difference for those tired of impersonal chains.
Can’t praise it enough... Try it!
Peace, tranquility, character, generous and warm personal welcome and interest.
Great comfort, spotless, breakfast is a treat ... and it’s all charming.
Torquay and the area is full of attractions.

“Perfect in every way. Stay there, soon!”
I booked for us to go to The Somerville for three specific reasons....
1. My boyfriend had stayed there in the past and raved about it
2. I spent many happy family holidays in Torquay
and
3. We had a Red Letter Day voucher which we swapped on to The Somerville.
We added an extra night to our booking, which was a very smooth and hassle-free process from the point of view of liaising with The Somerville.
When we arrived, we had an impressively warm welcome from Adam - he was very jovial, very comfortable welcoming us into their beautiful B&B and explained everything as if it was the first time he’d said it. We had a very comprehensive tour around the ground floor of the B&B, around our room and there was nothing I needed to ask as a result of the detailed information we were given. We were asked whether we needed any reservations made for dinner, we had a quick chat about where we’d booked for Saturday evening and were pleased to know that it met with approval!
The room was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable and the space had been used very cleverly to make the room as snug as possible. It was beautifully decorated and felt very opulent! We both liked those little touches such as proper organic milk being made available homemade cookies, cake, flapjack and jelly beans in the room, plus a mini cafetiere and very nice quality coffee for it, both normal and decaf. The attention-to-detail was second to none and very, very impressive.
We didn’t spend that much time in the B&B, so didn’t use the bar or lounge area. We had an amazing breakfast both mornings. My Eggs Royale were incredible - about a pack of smoked salmon included, beautifully poached eggs and a very well made hollandaise (which I make a lot myself and so am notoriously fussy about!). I had an omelette on the second morning and this was also perfectly cooked. I felt that both of my options for breakfast were things which, ordinarily, you would be charged extra for, but not at The Somerville.
The Full English was a very attractive looking plate, locally sourced where possible and so popular that my boyfriend had this both mornings. The range of jams and breads for toast and the extra touches such as lemon posset, beautifully presented granola pots and smoothie shots led to us feeling very well looked after and VERY full, but content! Brilliant, attentive service as well. Tip top marks, thank you!
We will definitely be back in the future. It is certainly the nicest place I have stayed, bar none, in terms of being made to feel welcome and having every whim catered for to perfection. A great place and huge congratulations to Adam and Grant as it is an absolute credit to them and a stand out gem in Torquay.
Beautiful Eggs Royale for a fantastic start to the day!!

“Great rooms, great food and great hosts!”
We stayed at this superb B&B for my birthday and because we had tickets for a local show at the theatre.
We have stayed in Torquay quite a few times at very decent B&Bs, but The Somerville will be our first choice from now on.
We stayed the the Courtyar Suite, room 3, which was very cosy. As I have a few mobility issues, this was great as it has a large shower rather than a bath and is on the ground floor. There is a small courtyard garden with a bench, if the weather is good enough to sit out. We had a super comfortable king sized bed and a small sofa. Although we didn’t use the TV, it was a good size.
The whole place is expertly run by Grant and Adam, it’s beautifully decorated and very clean. There is a car park on site, next time we will bring the Jag!
Breakfast, well, what can we say other than fabulous! Beautifully cooked, so much choice and nice extra touches of smoothie shots, fruit and yoghurt compots as well as all the usual choices.
We really appreciated the fresh milk, cookies and fruit that you could help yourself to at any time and the sweet treats in our room.
It’s just past the museum and even for a reluctant walker like myself, it’s an easy enough stroll down to the marina. You might want to get the bus or a taxi back up the hill, we paid GBP 3.75 plus tip on Saturday night after the concert (the taxi rank is just along the road from the theatre).
There are a number of places to eat in Torquay, but fine dining was a little hard to find on a Monday night.
Comfort, attention to detail and great service.
Local Gems:Angels tea rooms in Babbacombe, great afternoon tea but you should book ahead. Just be aware that they use marge in the sarnies and on the toast, rather than butter but were fine when I requested a dry sandwich (being allergic to margarine).
The view from the upstairs section of the cafe at the theatre is great, overlooking the marina and the food is reasonable.
Killerton House (National Trust) is always worth a visit if you are coming from that direction (M5 J29 northbound).

“A little bit of luxury”
We have just enjoyed our third luxury break at the Somerville.
This time we stayed in the Garden Suite which was like having a private wing to ourselves.
Adam & Grant make you feel so welcome and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
Breakfast is cooked to perfection....grilled vine tomatoes, eggs just how you like them, flat bottomed mushrooms, hash browns, really tasty bacon and sausages. There is varied choice on the menu and I must say the egg benedict was superb. Even tried the delicious lemon posset!
The Somerville is by far the best boutique hotel we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in and hopefully we will be back for a fourth visit very soon.
Many thanks Malcolm, Debbie & Misty.

“Fabulous gem”
Stayed here for two nights, last-minute find due to work commitments in the area, always difficult when looking for appropriate accommodation as a single female. But
what a find..... A Fabulous gem, friendly, immaculate and, for me, a feeling of safety.
Wonderful night’s sleep, just like home from home. Tastefully decorated accommodation and garden with extra finishing touches, help-yourself - fresh organic milk, cookies, sweets and bottled water in the room fridge. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately unable to visit the local area due to nature of stay, however walking distance into the town, with personal recommendations of places to eat and visit from the lovely owners.
I have stayed in countless hotels, motels & B&Bs over the years and can honestly say that this ranks amongst my favourite. Don’t bother looking elsewhere, you will not be disappointed. Thank you both.
Extremely comfortable bed, immaculate rooms and ensuite

“Anyone staying in Torquay, this is a must.”
Our first stay was our honeymoon and it was brill. This time was our first anniversary. Adam & Grant are two lovely people who will do all they can to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and tidy. Breakfast is what you need to start the day off with a good variety.
Pity I can’t get my lorry in there! Will be back. Also they have regular guests to stay who also enjoy the same comforts and are very friendly.
A choice of pillows.

“Perfect, luxurious and very welcoming”
What can I say.. Everything was perfect. We booked last minute and stayed in a junior suite which was above and beyond what you would expect.
These guys definitely go the extra mile and make you feel very welcome without intruding.
The atmosphere is very relaxing and we loved the little cookies and brownies that were complimentary if you feel a bit peckish.
The bathroom soaps and creams were fabulous, so much so, we have ordered some for home.
Immaculate B&B, well deserved 5 stars. Will definitely return.
The Breakfast - all organic I might add - is just perfect.

“Excellent!”
This is our second visit to the Somerville and we were very impressed that despite the rooms being excellent in our previous stay the owners had made the effort to further improve our stay.
The breakfasts are great with a wide variety of cereals, fruits and cooked options.
The location is ideal for the centre of Torquay - near enough to easily walk, far enough away to be away from any noise.
We will definitely stay again.

“Simply the Best”
Simply the best B and B we’ve ever stayed in. Decor is spectacular. Rooms were not just glamorous, but also practical, comfortable, quiet and warm. We were upgraded to the Torwood Suite with bedroom and separate lounge and felt pampered.
Attention to detail was incredible and all the little extras were worthy of a large hotel - bathrobes, small fridge, fresh milk, bottled water, even a dish of jelly babies and you could help yourself to free cookies at any time.
The breakfast selection is varied and interesting. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and unobtrusive.
All in all a memorable experience.
Go there. You won’t be disappointed.

“Truly a 5 star experience not to be missed”
The Somerville is a little piece of paradise and we would certainly recommend to anyone.
The attention to detail is first class and nothing is too much trouble.
Grant and Adam knew we had recently got married and even left us a personal note and welcome gift in our room which was a lovely gesture.
It is easy to see why the Somerville has a 5 star rating and we will be staying again.
Lots of vegetarian options available at breakfast.

“Simply the best B & B you will ever find”
A return visit to the absolutely wonderful Somerville did not disappoint. Attentive hosts who are totally focused on customer service, at a boutique B & B which cannot be faulted.
Sumptuous surroundings, comfy beds, delicious breakfasts, luxury bathrooms and too many thoughtful details to mention.
If you are travelling to Torquay, look no further than The Somerville - it is simply the best.

“It looked good on the laptop and in reality exceeded our expectations”
We booked a room and were upgraded on arrival and felt thoroughly spoilt with having our own sitting room. Being able to help yourself to fresh milk and cookies to take to your room is a lovely touch, as is the sweeties by the side of the bed.
When booking in the owner offered to make reservations at local eateries if needed and the written guide to eating locally is worth a read for its honesty and humour.
Excellent choices available for breakfast, especially like the smoothie shots.
On-site parking was very convenient and the Somerville is within easy walking to the centre of Torquay.
It would be unfair to select one particular quality above all others

“Luxurious and affordable.”
Excellent! We spent three days at the Sommerville and found the service to be brilliant.
The room was exceptional - stylish and very clean with a very comfortable bed!
There was a good choice for breakfast - everything I tried was fantastic and if you are still hungry after that the complimentary cookies are excellent too.
The Somerville was great value for money even considering we booked late.
We will certainly stay at the Somerville again if we are ever in the area.

“Excellent Experience - I will be returning”
Requiring high class accommodation for a re-arranged meeting in Torbay I booked the Somerville Hotel.
Even though they had a busy booking period with a Meeting Breakfast arranged the owners re-arranged bookings to allow me to stay.
On arrival I was impressed with the whole business and how professionally it was run. From all the information to make my stay as pleasant as possible to recommendations on where to eat & drink in Torbay (which were excellent), to the standards of the room and a breakfast I will never forget.
If you want a great place to stay in Torbay look no further!
The whole way the business is run from attention to detail, customer focus, cleanliness and the standard of food.

“The perfect choice to recharge your batteries in style!”
We have just returned from an overnight stay at The Somerville for a birthday treat. It was the perfect choice. We live in Devon and chose Torquay purely as we were visiting the theatre there and wanted to be able to walk. The Somerville was perfectly positioned to explore Torquay seafront and town.
The atmoshere was calm, relaxed and very stylish. As it was a quiet winter weekend we were upgraded to the Torwood Suite which was wonderful. Extremely comfortable and well thought out. There was a small fridge for my wine and proper wine glasses to enjoy it in!! Fresh milk available for you teas and coffees etc. Great shower and quality bathroom products.
Central heating very efficient (we left snow at home before heading to the coast!), if anything we should have turned it down as the bedroom was warmer than we are used to. I very much hope to return to The Somerville (if I ever manage to drag my man away from the farm again!).
If you can stretch to a suite it is worth it.
Forgot to mention the lovely fluffy towels and i-pod dock which was great as I usually bring our own!
We visited Jingles Mexican which we enjoyed.
Also our reason for the visit was a show at The Princess Theatre.

“5 star website with 5 star reality”
This was our first time at the Somerville but it won’t be the last. We had three nights’ B&B in a beautiful room with superb en-suite bathroom.
The breakfast was frankly perfect. Apart from an excellent cooked English there was a wide variety of home-made poached fruit, muesli and even posset.
On a simple note, the Somerville has good car parking, free Wi-Fi that works and is in easy walking to town centre.

Simply brilliant - beautiful room, fantastic breakfast, lovely hosts, really nice little touches to make it that much more special (the handmade shower gel, shampoo etc, the jelly beans, fresh milk and cookies under the stairs!).

“Exceptionally high standards and a very warm welcome”
We were very impressed by the exceptionally high standards. Adam and Grant are excellent hosts (and we really enjoyed meeting Hector and Oscar the dogs!).
The hotel is immaculate and our room was extremely comfortable with great attention to detail. Breakfast is definitely worth a mention with plenty to choose from and also of a very high standard.

“If you’re staying in Torquay, the Somerville is simply the best place to stay”
By far the best hotel-guest accommodation we have ever stayed in, anywhere! The hosts and staff are very knowledgeable of the area, run a beautiful and clean hotel (every room is special) and serve a brilliant breakfast all from an excellent location for discovering Torquay and the surrounding areas.
Lots of extra touches too, such as free Wi-Fi, brilliant in-room hot drink selection, fresh fruit and sweet treats also available and plentiful, safe off-road parking.
My wife and I have been visiting Torquay for many years and have finally found guest accommodation we return to every year - we wish we had discovered it sooner. And we very much look forward to staying here again!
Get to know the hosts, their knowledge of the local restaurants is especially thorough and they can help you plan your stay whatever it is you like to do when in Torquay or South Devon.
Local Gems:Victoria Parade has the best tea-room (for cream teas) and chip shop (in our opinions) with lovely views of the harbour. I wish I could remember the names specifically but they are the ones approx half-way down in the middle of the row! (See owner’ note at foot of page)

“Wonderful Anniversary Break”
This was our fourth stay in as many years each being equally as good as the last. Gorgeous rooms, delicious breakfast, very clean, warm and welcoming environment. All the luxuries you could possibly want including homemade cookies and muffins to help yourself to with organic fresh milk, so no need to rely on UHT sachets in the room as elsewhere.
Walking distance to the harbour and shops and many eateries but quite steep coming back up so consider the bus if this is an issue to you (stops at the Museum about 50 yards away). Private parking at rear of property.
Owners try and source good local produce where possible and sample local restaurants regularly to maintain their good food guide. If you ask advice you get good honest answers and they are very helpful, willing to assist in booking shows, restaurants, taxis etc.
Ask owners advice on local restaurants.
Regarding the hotel, all the rooms we’ve tried over the years have been lovely so it makes no difference which you have.

The decor is sumptuous and classy with each room having something special. They are happy to upgrade you if it is possible and will happily advise on the best places to visit to maximise your stay in Torquay. The breakfasts at the Somerville are the best with an extensive continental buffet filled with delights followed by something cooked.
I travel extensively with my job and stay at a wide variety of hotels but am struggling to find anywhere else which matches the excellence of the Somerville. You must sample it for yourself if you get the chance.
Has to be the comfort of the bed, and the breakfasts.

“A truly excellent guest house in a great location”
The Somerville is an excellent guesthouse situated in an enviable location just a short walk away from the town centre, harbour and local restaurants.
We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to be upgraded to a Junior Suite. The room was immaculately clean and well appointed with a good selection of hot drinks, and all the furnishings and decor were to the highest standard. Each day, fresh bottled water was placed in our room fridge, and jugs of fresh milk and delicious cookies were available to take to our room - we thought this was a lovely extra touch.
The breakfast was outstanding and there was so much choice. Only fresh local produce was used and it was all beautifully cooked and presented. The service was excellent. We were also very appreciative of the detailed room guide which included helpful recommendations of where to eat and local attractions to visit.
All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would not hesitate to recommend The Somerville to others.
The delicious breakfast and attention to detail.

“Unbeatable 5 star luxury in the best B&B we have ever stayed in”
The Somerville exceeded all expectations in every department. Quiet, extremely comfortable, excellent standard of hospitality, food and extra finishing touches. Warm welcome and sumptuously furnished suite with everything you could wish for, all of excellent quality.
Lovely comfortable bed and pillows, luxury bathroom with slipper bath, bathrobes, TV, good quality toiletries - and fresh red rose in a vase. Interior design is wonderful, thoughtful little extras like fresh milk always available, likewise afternoon cookies and fresh fruit, as well as Liquorice Allsorts in the room - brilliant little touch. Very helpful restaurant reviews and the most genial of hosts.
We stayed at the Somerville while visiting friends who had recently moved to the outskirts of Torquay. How are we going to break it to them that the Somerville was so special that we will always want to stay there when visiting!

“Perfect accommodation and friendly hosts”
This is a really lovely hotel in a great location, just 10 mins’ walk into town. We booked a suite and this was perfect - nice and quiet, and very comfortable indeed.
The bed and pillows were perfect. Great in-room teatray with fresh milk. Lovely bathroom, toiletries and bathrobes.
The room had three TVs and a Roberts’ radio.
Breakfast was exceptional as was the service and the hosts. Off-road parking is good at rear of building.
Take time to enjoy your room and the property. There are some amazing ornaments and decor.

“Never disappoints”
Our fifth stay at the Somerville which never disappoints.
Good location, lovely decor, great breakfast and very helpful staff who will go out of their way to help you with what to do and where to eat, etc.
Lots of nice touches like free afternoon cookies, bathrobes, etc.
If you like a bit of luxury at a B & B then this is the place. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.
If you are in doubt about where to eat just ask for recommendations as these people have tried most of the local places

What an outstanding hotel. We have been looking for some time for a good, intimate, non-standard hotel in Torquay and this is definitely the one.

“This is a lovely hotel”
We go back to this hotel year after year. You can’t fault the hotel in any way. The owners and staff can’t do enough for you.
The hotel is a ten minute walk from the town centre - just right for a short walk to all the shops and amenities.
We love the little extras you get, the fresh milk and cookies in the hall. We would recomend this hotel to anyone -it is excellent.

“Excellent welcome with an exceptional breakfast”
Beautifully furnished boutique-style hotel. My room was very comfortable with sumptuous furnishings but also high spec mod cons. A good quality hairdryer is important to me - as well as nice toiletries. Much appreciated. I also love having a bath robe.
I liked having a cafetiere in the room to make a nice pot of coffee, and fresh milk was available downstairs with cookies and fruit at all times, a lovely touch.
The breakfast was the best I have had and I have to travel a lot for business. Lots of choice and very well cooked.
I will stay here again.

“Excellent place to stay”
We had a fantastic time when we stayed at The Somerville. We were made very welcome by Adam and Grant and their staff.
The breakfasts were fantastic, as was their advice on where to visit and places to eat. Our room was extremely comfortable and beautiful. Oscar and Hector were also delightful and were very entertaining.
There are several very good restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk and the front and marina are also very close.
So in summary, a wonderful place to stay in an excellent location

“Amazing accommodation close to the harbour, excellent food and top quality service”
What a truly warm and friendly establishment with a professional yet friendly service. We were greeted and welcomed by Adam who made us feel immediately at ease, we were personally taken to our room and shown around and made sure we were happy.
You could really see how important it was for them to make everyone who stayed at the Somerville feel relaxed and there wasn’t anything you couldn’t have (they had thought of everything!) The room was of exceptionally high standard and the breakfast was amazing. We have a 14 month old daughter and every effort was made to ensure she was catered for.
Excellent stay and we wish you every success from Mr and Mrs George.

“A jewel in Torquay”
Chose Somerville from internet for a two night break and were unsure what to expect as we normally go for larger hotels. However, what a surprise.
From the moment we walked in our hosts and their staff made us feel welcome. The setting and the decor was fabulous, all areas were spotlessly clean. Attention to detail was obvious. Breakfast was to order and the choice, service and menu was excellent.
Location was really good, just a five minute walk to the town and harbour. We will definitely be returning and recommend you try it, you will not be disappointed.

“Fabulous little B&B and we would highly recommend it to friends and family. ”
We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at The Somerville. We trawled through the web for hours to find the perfect place to stay and that is when we came across The Somerville, after reading all of the glowing reviews we decided to book our long weekend here.
We arrived very late on Friday evening, not that you would think it was late because of the friendly welcome that we received from the warm and very accommodating staff.
The Somerville was just perfect, from location to comfort, from the delicious breakfast to the unique decoration and flawless service. We would thoroughly recommend this place to friends and family and will most certainly stay here again.
Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay.

“The Somerville - Fantastic B&B on The English Riviera.”
I travelled to The Somerville with my boyfriend after a colleague at work could no longer go. I could not fault this B&B in any way.
We were greeted by Grant (I think) and we were shown where the fresh milk and freshly baked cookies were before being taken to our room. Such a comfortable, friendly, hospitable place. We were also advised on the best places to eat and drink, seeing as we were there for the Easter Break.
I seriously cannot fault this B&B at all and me and my boyfriend have travelled extensively throughout the world. The customer service was second to none, and I loved the fact that on Easter Sunday there were so many Easter eggs and chocolates laid out on the table near the front door in a wonderful presentation that my boyfriend thought he’d gone to heaven (unfortunately I’m not much of a chocolate eater so he had my share!) .
Please don’t hesitate to book the Somerville..... you will not be disappointed.

“Fantastic”
We had a really lovely stay at the Somerville, we stayed in Room 8 on the first floor at the front of the building and even though the room is at the front on a main road and you would think it would be noisy, but it wasn’t - very relaxing room and bed indeed!
This is not your normal run-of-the-mill B&B and for the extra little bit of money you have to pay, it is definitely worth it and good value for money.
I would tell you everything about all the little touches and extras they do, but why spoil the surprise! Don’t bother booking anywhere else.

“A diamond hotel that will make you feel special and definitely want to return to”
The Somerville had been recommended to us and wanting a short Easter break, the decision to go to there was easy.
On arrival, the welcome we received was tremendous, very warm, and right from the beginning we knew nothing was going to be too much trouble.
The room was delightful, the bed very comfortable and the en-suite was modern and spotless.
The service remained brilliantly effortless, everything was under control. Breakfast was served with virtually whatever combination was required and the bar for the evening tipple was well stocked.
Just relax and allow your days be 100 per cent restful.
Local Gems:The Coastal sailing to Dartmouth followed by a steam train trip was relaxing, but also very informative in a very informal way.

“A gem in the English Riviera”
Great welcome from our hosts. Sumptuous room and en-suite. A bed that was luxurious - mattress topper and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The en-suite was small but perfectly formed! We loved the great shower and the massive bath sheets.
Oh and the little pot of jelly babies were a lovely surprise.
Breakfast too was wonderful. Great choices of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and the freshly cooked breakfast was delicious.

“Great place to stay”
Stayed four nights during February 2012 with my wife. Fantastic place - well deserving of the impressive collection of awards displayed in the front entrance. Everthing about the place is 5 star, - decor, cleanliness, hospitality.
The extensive choices for breakfast had to be seen to be believed - easily filled us up for the rest of the day. Our bedroom had a massive, comfortable bed, and a large en-suite bathroom with double shower and complimentary toiletries. Facilities were included in the room for making tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and in addition every afternoon complimentary cookies were available in the foyer.
Adam, the host, was extremely helpful - nothing was ever too much trouble for him. The hotel is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from the marina, seafront, shopping centre and restaurants. In addition it has a large car park where you can leave the car all day if you wish.
All in all, the Somerville is well worth a visit - we shall certainly be returning in the future.
Make the most of the wonderful breakfasts. You won’t need to eat again all day!

“Amazing weekend in a lovely hotel”
As soon as you walk in you are made to feel special, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are of a very high standard and the bathrooms are amazing.
They go that little bit extra with sweets in your room, milk and cookies are always available down in the fridge in the lobby.
This hotel is very suitable for families as they are very child-friendly and couples that like a bit of a relaxing break
The rooms are cleaned to a very high spec.
The breakfasts are amazing - they have everything you could possibly want
Legend restaurant.
Loved looking round the harbour

“Luxury and Style with warmth and charm”
This was our second stay at the Somerville and I am pleased to say nothing has changed!
These days, most things you buy are the same price, but smaller, or they have taken away something you used to get.
Not at the Somerville.
From the warm welcome to the well appointed rooms, with proper coffee, little bowls of sweets, bottles of water and even fresh milk and cookies in the afternoon.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable (we stayed in the Somerville suite - what a bathroom!)
The breakfast is of high quality and cooked freshly to order.
Great hotel run by great people
Cannot wait for our next visit

“The best B&B in the world!”
Adam and Grant are very special hosts, from the moment they greet you at the door to the moment you leave they make you feel at home.
The decor is amazing, the rooms are spotlessly clean, lots of special touches to make your visit special.
The beds are so comfortable, I wanted to take the pillows home with me!
Oscar and Hector are adorable.
The breakfast is amazing, everything you could want and more, the scrambled eggs are to die for!
Nothing is too much trouble.
My only complaint......I had to leave.....
Just book, you won’t regret it. Oh and try the scrambled eggs!

“Simply fabulous stay.”
The Somerville was a fantastic place to stay, and certainly deserved the title of Best B&B in the South West. The property is beautifully presented, the rooms are luxurious, with everything you could think of provided, even down to the iron and ironing board. Extras like fresh milk and pastries provided for guests to help themselves to, which was very appreciated by us.
We requested, and were provided with, a ground floor room. The property was quiet and relaxing. Adam, the co-owner, was very welcoming and friendly, and was able to give us useful, local information. The breakfasts were superb, with lots of choice and fresh fruits which were delicious.
Everything, for us, there was not one thing we could fault.
Be Aware:It is ideally situated within walking distance of the sea front and the town, although is part way up a hill so could pose problems for some people.
Local Gems:We went to The Barnowl pub just outside Torquay which was excellent if you are looking for pub grub.
Brixham is certainly worth a visit if you like ’olde worlde’ charm.

“Perfect place for a relaxing break”
This was our first trip to Torquay. We chose the Somerville due to the excellent reviews on the Internet - we were not disappointed.
The whole building is exceptionally clean and well presented. We stayed in one of the suites (which are very reasonably priced) and were amazed by the cleanliness, and high standards of decor.
In addition, the little extras like the fresh milk and cookies proves that Adam and Grant truly think of everything to make your stay as pleasureable as possibe. The breakfasts are excellent, with the scambled egg and smoked salmon being my favourite.
We shall return as soon as we can, and wish Adam and Grant every success for 2012
Go for a suite if available. We had the Garden Suite, which was lovely and very quiet

“A gem of a place in Torquay”
This was the third time we visited which speaks for itself. Have never been disappointed with the facilities and the welcome. Have stayed in three different rooms or suites and each one has been better than the one before.
Attention to detail is second to none, everything you need is there including a dish of jelly babies. Breakfast is amazing.
Will continue to stay whenever a stress-free time is called for.
Well done The Somerville.

“The Somerville is a very welcoming relaxing place and should be top of your list when visiting Torquay”
My wife and I came here for a couple of days of relaxation and we were not disappointed. The description of the hotel is accurate.
The room was sumptuously decorated and comfortable. There were nice little touches throughout the hotel that made it homely, we particularly liked the fresh milk and cookies.
It is clean, probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed.
The welcome was warm and friendly and included a map which was useful. The hotel is a few hundred yards from the harbour which is the hub for the eateries and drinkeries.
I must recommend the breakfast, I did a body swerve past the muesli, cereal and continental stuff and went for the full English. Everything was served with a smile and was freshly cooked and delicious.

“Book it - you won’t be disappointed!”
I booked The Somerville for one night on the basis of previous excellent reviews and was delighted I did....
It is an absolute gem - centrally located, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, charming staff and amazing breakfast.
Fresh milk not UHT for your room! It is on a hill but find me a hotel in Torquay that isn’t!
Thoroughly recommended - book it!

“Fabulously luxurious B&B”
We stayed at the Somerville for three nights to celebrate my birthday. We were aware the hotel had won an award for being the best B&B in the South West 2011. It absolutely deserved to win this award!
We had a warm welcome, shown the best sights on maps and given tips on the best restaurants to visit and which to avoid! Friendly staff, knowledgeable, approachable and always happy to help.
Our room was lovely, huge bed, lots of comfy pillows and sweets by the bed. Our bathroom had a double shower which was amazing and gorgeous handmade washing products.
Breakfast was a varied selection of fresh fruits, cakes, juices and fab cooked breakfasts were available. You could even have Bucks Fizz for breakfast!
The hotel is gorgeous - I would recommend it to anyone wanting some luxury on holiday.
Everything - but especially the great breakfast, comfy bed and lovely staff

“An absolute must stay in Torquay”
I have been returning to the Somerville over the past three years and on every occasion the only word to describe it is SUPERB!
Adam and Grant are great hosts.
The rooms are sumptuous and quiet and the breakfasts absolutely delicious with a huge variety on offer.
Five minutes’ walk to the bustling harbourside means close to the action but the ability to retreat to peace and quiet with ease.
As with much of Torquay, the Somerville sits on a hill but there is a frequent bus service that runs between the harbourside and Babbacombe and St Marychurch that stops close by The Somerville.
Every award the Somerville has is thoroughly deserved. FANTASTIC!

“Just book it!”
I have just returned from my second stay at the Somerville, and both stays were absolutely faultless.
The whole place is SPOTLESSLY clean. You instantly feel at home in the rooms - something which in my experience even the best chain hotels fail to really achieve. Proper coffee, a proper hairdryer, quality toiletries, fresh milk and cookies always available....and countless other thoughtful touches which make this place like no other I’ve ever stayed at.
There is plenty of free parking, free wireless (though I understand some rooms have better signal than others - it might be worth checking with them directly if this is particularly important to you), and a great choice and fabulous quality at breakfast.
I honestly can’t see how anyone could not like this place. And it is such excellent value. If you’re wondering whether or not to book - just do it!
My second stay was in the Somerville Suite...both rooms were fantastic, but if you’re looking for something extra special, the suite is certainly worth the extra.

“Excellent accommodation, great location with superb food. In fact, all the comforts of home!”
The Somerville was chosen from the local tourism website and certainly lived up to the recommendations.
We had originally booked for August to complete some family business in the Torquay area but unfortunately, due to a family death, had to cancel at two days’ notice. Grant & Adam were very understanding and very kindly allowed us to hold over the deposit for six months and re-book at a later date.
They made us very welcome, the accommodation was excellent, with Oscar & Hector always in attendance, and the dining area and breakfasts were superb.
Would have no hesitation in recommending to future travellers.
The breakfasts and afternoon cookies!

“This is how it should be done”
Returning to the Somerville was such an easy decision to make. Once again we have enjoyed a lovely relaxing and comfortable break with Adam and Grant as our hosts.
All our expectations were easily met and reaffirmed. The suite was everything we wanted superbly comfortable, spotlessly clean, the breakfasts were exceptional and we felt the attention to detail ensured that our enjoyment during our stay at the Somerville was never taken for granted.
On top of all that what great value. This is how it should be done.

“An Oasis of splendor on the English Riviera”
Simply the best place to stay on the English Riviera! A short walk from the harbour up or downhill, lovely quiet surrounding area.
We got married here at the weekend and as a returning guest, our hosts never cease to go to every measure to make sure it is a relaxing and wonderful stay. The rooms are gorgeous, beautifully decorated, the breakfasts cater for every taste and the small touches around the hotel make you feel you’re special.
All our guests said they’d return to The Somerville and we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. If you like to be pampered in the comfort of your hotel, or would simply like to treat yourself to a quick treatment, Jo their local beauty therapist can be contacted via their website and she will treat you like a King or Queen at excellent rates.. She wowed my new husband speechless with my bridal makeup!
If you’re stuck for places to go, where to eat, what show to see etc, the guys are a wealth of information and can direct you in the right direction.
I’ve stayed at the Somerville over New Year too and the decorations around the hotel really are beautiful, traditional and homely, with internet, satellite TV and iPod stations in your rooms, if it rains outside... it’s really no big deal to stay in.
This accommodation would suit all ages and is eco-friendly.
The guest suites are extra special and fantastic value for money

“High quality, affordable luxury with the warmest welcome”
The Somerville is in a superb location.
Spacious, free car park. Easy walking distance to main town and marina.
Beautifully kept with attention to every detail. Quality bed, linen, towels, toiletries etc.
Wonderful food, freshly cooked breakfasts with an array of fruit, cereals, yogurts on the side.
Complimentary water in room, bath robes, selection of teas & coffees, fresh milk and gorgeous cookies on a help-yourself basis.
Wonderful warm welcome, would highly recommend and definitely be returning.
For a luxury affordable break with attention to detail normally associated with very highly priced 4 or 5 star hotels this is wonderful value for money.
Local Gems:Roly’s Fudge and Ice Cream is a must, situated on the Marina with outside seating where delicious freshly made fudge or an ice cream can be enjoyed whilst watching the world go by. Time it right and you can watch the fudge being made in the shop window.

The Somerville is a lovely place to stay. The proprietors, Adam and Grant, are very friendly and welcoming.

“The Best of Devon!”
A warm, friendly B&B with delightful accommodation. We have previously stayed in Room 10 on the first floor, but for this stay booked the Garden Suite, which includes a massive Victorian style bath, as well as a very modern (new) shower.
There is plenty of parking at the rear, good central location near the harbour, shops and restaurants of Torquay.
The breakfasts are delicious and cooked specifically to your request. If you want extra of anything you just need to ask. There are cookies and fresh milk under the stairs in the afternoon, so you can have a proper cup of tea.
The hosts and the two little dogs are very friendly and helpful and will help you with anything.
Definitely recommend the Garden Suite

The Blagdon Inn on the Totnes Road serves wonderful food and I would recommend a visit.

“5 star luxury - can’t fault the Somerville”
I have stayed now at the Somerville a number of times and just keep coming back!
The quality of welcome from Grant and Adam is really fantastic and the level of comfort in the rooms and the quality of the breakfast make the stay excellent value indeed.
The last time I came I brought my mother with me who has very high expectations. She also was impressed with the cleanliness (there is no dirt ANYWHERE) and the little extras such as sweets in your room, cut glasses for your water and fresh milk for tea making facilities.
If you enjoy staying in a property which feels opulent as well as comfortable, the Somerville is the place for you. The Wi-Fi is also very handy if you need to work. If you like dogs, Hector and Oscar are a real treat too!

“Wonderful treat for my parents, so glad I found the Somerville. Fantastic hotel!!!!!!”
I booked my parents into the Somerville, as a treat when they came down to Torbay to visit myself and my family, and we went over on the Friday evening.
Firstly, the place was amazing .... loads of parking out the back and the whole hotel is wonderfully decorated. My parents’ room was a suite. It was wonderful - beautiful large bed and the en-suite was 10 times better than ours at home.
Secondly, the staff were so friendly and hospitable. The little touches throughout the place made the stay for my Mum and Dad extra special.
I am so glad I found the Somerville and they will definitely be staying again.
Everything!!!!!!!!
I honestly cannot fault this hotel in any way

“A highly recommended stunning boutique hotel with luxurious rooms, fantastic service in a great location”
Upon arrival at the hotel you enter and are greeted with a warm welcome entering into a lovely hall with beautiful furniture which continues throughout.
Having stayed at The Somerville several times, it always exceeds our expectations. The gorgeous rooms with the high quality bed linens and quality toiletries - are always such a treat! We have stayed in various rooms and while all have unique designs, Room 10 is our favourite.
The breakfast is served in a light, airy room and consists of local produce, it’s simply delicious.
The location is perfect and is a short amble down to the harbour, yet you still have easy access to the surrounding bays, towns and villages. (car park at the rear of the property is so advantageous).
We highly recommend the hotel for a luxurious relaxing break, suitable for everyone!
Room 10, the breakfast and a few drinks in the bar with the friendly proprietors before an evening out.
Local Gems:Locally there is a restaurant in the harbour which we would recommend - No.7. The restaurant serves very good fish and seafood.
