“Perfect touring and chill-out rural get-away”
Dordie made us feel really welcome at Orchard Cottage. The accommodation is a roomy period building converted into a high standard holiday let for two. Upstairs there is a rather special, airy bedroom with exposed beams and a lovely bathroom with shower. Downstairs there is one large lounge-kitchen-diner which was great for relaxing and meals in. The cottage is set in its own secluded garden within large private grounds in a rural location.
This may not be for you if you are in a hurry, nor if you don’t like wildlife (the odd spider, squirrel, toad and mouse in the undergrowth) and livestock (a vista of sheep grazing in the paddock).
For us it was the perfect, relaxing get-away from it all break. We were blessed with warm, sunny weather and spent many happy hours chilling out in the garden. I even painted the view from our alfresco breakfast table.
There is an overwhelming abundance of day trip possibilities in the Cotswolds, Chilterns and Wye Valley. We twice visited the nearby Three Choirs Vineyard and restaurant for super lunches and wine tasting. We liked picking fruit at the fruit farm in Upleadon, the sculpture trail and arboretum in the Forest of Dean, shopping in Ross on Wye, visits to Hidcote Garden and various country houses, the Westons cider visitor centre and open air Shakespeare in the amphitheatre at Cheltenham. My only reticence in recommending this property is that we want to come back here again.
A friendly welcome
Roomy and characterful accommodation.
Private garden set in large grounds in rural location.
Perfect base for touring

The garden centre at Wray in Lancashire is just a few miles off the M6. Also the Acornbank Gardens near Penryth.

“Peaceful”
A tranquil cottage, set in wonderful countryside.
If you are looking for a retreat - look no further.
Also close to loads of areas of interest, including Three Choirs Vineyard.
Extremely clean - no need to clean anything
(Our ONLY disappointment was the rain!!)
Very clean and well equipped
