“Peaceful, welcoming Bowes House - the perfect place to unwind”
Idyllic surroundings with a kind and patient host. Spacious and ideal for families or lone travellers. The pretty house is furnished with a keen eye for detail, and after a long day at the seaside the beautiful garden is a lovely place to relax.
If you stay in the en-suite the luxurious bathroom will not disappoint, with a huge bath and shower and stone floor and views over the garden. The beds and linen are also great.
At breakfast your attentive hostess will cook locally sourced produce to order to go with tasty and healthy organic yoghurt and fruit. It’s all very relaxed and perfect for unwinding.
We all enjoyed ourselves very much - Thanks!!

“We wanted a peaceful, relaxing, quiet place in the countryside to unwind and recharge and we definitely found it at Bowes House”
Our double room with en-suite was large with beautiful views of the countryside. Although you are sharing the owners’ sitting room they are extremely accommodating and expect you to feel comfortable, treat it as your own and come and go as you please. You’re able to relax which is the most important thing!
Breakfast was fantastic. A great selection of organic cereals, homemade yoghurt and seasonal fruits to start, followed by a delicious cooked breakfast of bacon, mushrooms, eggs and tomatoes. Everything was so fresh and of a high quality.
Our host was so helpful with suggestions on what to do and see and had plenty of walking maps and guide books for us to use.
Couples who want a quiet, relaxing break will really enjoy it - those who want lots of hustle and bustle will not.
Be Aware:It is very much a family home and although you are expected to treat the place as your own, it won’t be what everyone is after.
Local Gems:Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock has great cafe food and main meals looked good also. And so does the place opposite.
En Route:Spread Eagle pub in Stourhead near Stourhead House was a good place to detour off the A303 on the way back to London
