“Loved it!!!”
It felt like home the moment we walked through the door. All the little welcoming gifts topped off the stay. Everything we asked for (high chair and travel cot) were waiting for us.
It met, if not exceeded, our expectations!
Pint of milk in the fridge put a massive smile on our faces)
We are family of 5 (two 5 year olds and baby), we usually struggle to find lovely places like Lobster Cottage which are suitable!!! Already recommended to all our friends with children!
Sue was very helpful and professional all the way through! Always on the other end of the phone answering all the questions!
Lots of attractions for families with children (indoors and outdoors) within 20 miles
Local Gems:Loved the morning beach walk at Eccles on Sea
BeWilderWood - theme park - great fun for adults and children
Great Yarmouth good for shopping!

’’So pleased you loved our gorgeous little Lobster Cottage a perfect character hideaway for a holiday but no distance at all to the dog-friendly beaches and great local country walks not forgetting the local pub, The Star at Lessingham, famous locally for its dog-friendliness and proper country cooking.
Thanks for your kind words about the booking experience too there might be over 20 cottages on the website now but I do like to give everyone the time and advice if they need it to help them choose the best holiday cottage for them’’ - Sue

“Cosy and comfortable cottage in a peaceful location”
Lovely cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing break.
The open fire was superb and made our evenings in very cosy.
Lessingham is the ideal location for a quiet, relaxing get away, with peaceful country lanes and footpaths.
The walk down to Eccles on sea (dog-friendly) was the perfect distance for the kids to walk or cycle and we were very lucky to have beautiful sunshine all week.
We took a drive up to Cromer and had fab fish & chips at Mary Jane’s.
Local Gems:All the beaches were fab for walking the dogs.

“A fabulous cottage that oozes charm and warmth”
We loved our stay at Lobster Cottage.
We felt very welcomed with the arrival goodies at such a charming cottage.
The local pub is great and the beach is a mere stroll away.
This is a great location to tour the coast both north and south of the village.
We enjoyed the open fire and roll top bath to the full and will definitley be back with out Border Collie who loved the beaches and open spaces.
We can’t wait for our next stay and our friends are booking for the summer.

“A lovely location. Very dog-friendly where owners are welcome too”
A lovely located cottage that is in a quiet village within easy reach of walks beaches woods and pubs.
Very welcoming for dogs which was the selling point for us. Well equiped with home comforts, WiFi, landline, a few DVDs, lots of books and jigsaws.
Within walking distance of the local pub which welcomes dogs, serves good food and has a friendly atmosphere.
Cafe at Sea Palling was very welcoming to Barney (the Cocker Spaniel) Not far from 3 beaches (all within 4 miles)
Bacton Woods is a must (tracks 1.3miles - 4 miles laid out) or just have a random ramble.
Bacton Woods & The Star (local pub, quarter of a mile walk)

“A great place to take dogs and chillax!”
Beautiful quiet cottage with an easy walk to the beach with our two very active dogs.
The welcome pack was unexpected but very enjoyable local produce including biscuits for the dogs. The advice provided before we arrived about safe and quiet places to take the dogs was spot on and we had some lovely walks both on the beach and in Bacton Woods.
The cottage is very spacious and well equipped. Whilst there isn’t a big garden, the car parking area was quiet and safe for the dogs and there are plenty of walks near by. It was the best place we’ve stayed in with the dogs and we would definitely go back and explore some more of this beautiful part of Norfolk.
The walk to the beach at Eccles (dog friendly).
Bacton Woods (dog friendly and mysterious on a misty day)

“Quirky and extremely comfortable”
Lobster Cottage is very clean, comfortable, well-equipped and well-located with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The cottage welcomes dogs and includes throws, bowls and treats and our dog enjoyed his first family holiday.
The village is quiet and relaxed there is an excellent pub (The Star) within easy walking distance and the beach at Eccles on Sea is a lovely walk along a bridle path. The cottage is an excellent base for exploring the area with resorts along the coast and The Broads all within an hours drive.
When we arrived there was milk in the fridge and all the makings for a welcoming cuppa, plus a cake, jam and hand-baked dog biscuits - a very thoughtful touch. There are very few house rules and lots of information on the local area.
Book a holiday and enjoy it!
Local Gems:We loved the local walks and paddling at Eccles-on-Sea and Sea Palling.
We explored the coast from Wells-next-the-Sea round to Lowestoft and the Broads. The walk from Horsey Windpump to see the seals on the beach is well worthwhile.
Locally, the village pub is very friendly and welcoming with good beer and good food.
As we were travelling with our dog and everywhere we went was within an hour’s drive, we did not stop en-route but there are plenty of very interesting places along the way if you wanted to stop.
Maggie H, Sudbury, Suffolk - 20th September 2014
Owner’s Reply:’’Thank you so much Maggie for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Lobster and found so much to do. The quiet location and easy walk to the beach are definite selling points and the short stroll to the dog friendly proper country pub, The Star, is a definite winner. I think this house will be very popular for winter breaks what with all those things and the open fire! ’’ - Sue

“All in all, a lovely, dog-friendly cottage. A great base.”
The cottage was lovely, well equipped and very dog-friendly. Lots of information in the house folder.
Great having a dog-friendly pub, The Star, serving good food, within a five minute walk. Advise either to get there early or book in advance as it gets very busy and there is only one chef.
When the kitchen is closed, there is another good pub, The Greyhound in Hinckling which serves all day, every day.
The beaches
Be Aware:Took a bit of finding as Sat Nav told us we had arrived, but as there wasn’t a name on the cottage we hunted around for a bit. (See Sue’s comment at foot of review)
A bit short of early morning and late night walks with the dogs, but OK.
There are no shops in the village.
The location of the pub.
En Route:We found The Carpenters Arms between Kings Lynn and Norwich, to eat. It was very dog-friendly.
Julie B, Earby, Lancashire - 21st July 2014
Owner’s Reply:
’’Julie, thank you very much for taking the time to review Lobster Cottage and I am glad you enjoyed your holiday. Many of the tiny villages in this area of rural Norfolk sadly cannot sustain shops but nearby Stalham (approx 3 miles) has a good range of shops and a supermarket and there are some good farm shops in the area too.
Great advice about The Star it is very popular and booking is definitely recommended! I have already asked the owner to ensure that a name sign is put up on the property so that shouldnVbApLt be a problem in the future’’ - Sue

“All in all a very nice property, very dog-friendly, and nice people. Would certainly go again”
This cottage is ideal for a couple, although it would sleep four comfortably. Although there was only two of us, we always go for a property that sleeps four plus.
The cottage is well equipped, and the decking area is really nice. Good walks, although a mile to the beach walking, it was a pleasant walk. Driving to the beach is only 5 minutes, but it is a pay and display.
Lovely local pub, very friendly, and pets welcome, also very good food.
Would certainly go back.
The beach and walks
Local Gems:The Star pub, and the beaches - fab.
En Route:We travelled from Leicester, and struggled to find anywhere to stop and eat on the main route. You would have to turn off and go to a village, unless you like McDonalds!!!!! Which we actually did as we were very hungry! We actually made sure we had breakfast before we left on the last day.
Janet G from Leicester - 8th July 2014
Owner’s Reply:’’Thank you Jane for taking the time to write a review much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed Lobster Cottage and The Star at Lessingham it really is one of the most friendly pubs in the area and very dog welcoming. Many of the others are too but having it a short stroll away from the cottage is definitely a bonus! ’’ - Sue
