“We are already planning our 2015 trip”
This was our fifth stay at The Granary, but we brought a couple who had not been to England. Once again, the friendliness of the owners made us feel like we were coming home. The Granary was clean and comfortable in all respects. Our wish for a relaxed time was fulfilled.
The barn is in a quiet location...the only sounds are birds, chickens, the occasional dog barking, or maybe a tractor during the day. All these sounds were welcomed. There always seemed to be a breeze that carried the sweet smell of freshly mown grass or hay being baled.
If you want to relax in a comfortable, quiet area, this is the place for you.
Local Gems:Local restaurants - The Mogul, Lucca, and our favorite is a short journey away at Pin Mill, The Butt and Oyster.
Love St. Marys Church in Dedham and a visit to Frinton to the seaside.
The Barn Brasserie in Great Tey is a beautiful place for a special dinner.

“Wish I was there right now!”
We have stayed at The Granary on four occasions.
The first visit exceeded our expectations, so we continue to come back.
The barn has been renovated to a high standard and very is comfortable. It is in a quiet location with good views, but it is close to shopping, a train station, and many lovely villages.
I would recommend it to families or couples who want to splurge.
Sitting on the back patio with a glass of wine, relaxing in the hot tub or Finnish sauna.
Local Gems:The village of Dedham is one we return to on every trip. We also go to Jimmy’s Farm for fresh meat.
The Mogul Restaurant in Manningtree has delicious Indian food for eat in or take away.
The Butt and Oyster in Pinmill is always on our list - an out of the way pub-restaurant on the River Orwell.
