Summary:

“Lower Barn really gets you away from it all in relaxed comfort with local sights and attractions within easy reach”

This is our second visit to Lower Barn. The Barn is set in a beautiful, quiet location with outstanding views. The barn is designed with this in mind with French doors looking out onto the nearby Estuary. Wildlife is in abundance.

The barn is spacious with underfloor heating and a stove for colder weather. The children particularly enjoyed the bedrooms on the mezzanine floors. There is also a Games Barn on site and plenty of room outside for children to play.

Southwold is only a short car journey away and the local area has a good range of activities for all ages. Booking was easy and the owners were very helpful and prompt replying.

Specifically Recommend:

I would definitely recommend Lower Barn to families and with its wheelchair accessibility it is also available to anyone who has a wheelchair user in their party.

My son uses a wheelchair and was able to access the main living area, the bathroom and the downstairs bedroom.

Local Gems:

We love the shops in Southwold especially Nutters Food Shop and have enjoyed bar meals at the Swan Hotel.

We have also enjoyed Dunwich Heath for walks (golf buggy tours can be booked for those who are not able to walk far), Orford and Orford Ness (shingle spit for walking).

En Route:

The reason we enjoy coming to Suffolk is that it is only two hours’ drive from Kent and so we have never needed to stop en route.
