“Adorable Pembrokeshire cottage ideal for walking and waves”
As a family we had not visited Pembrokeshire before, it was a wonderful holiday and I would do it all again just the same. The cottage Ty To has been lovingly restored and is a gem of a place, in a small hamlet about three miles from the coast. A traditional Pembrokeshire cottage, complete with incredible rope thatch roof in the main section of the house. It was wonderfully furnished with great combination of modern comforts and older pieces to keep the flavour.
The layout was ideal for us with the two teenage children at one end of the house upstairs in a loft above the kitchen and my husband and I sleeping at the other end of the house beyond the sitting room and bathroom. Probably not ideal if you have toddlers who wander in the night however. We took our dog who was happily confined to the kitchen by a gate, and enjoyed walking different bits of the coastal path.
If you like undeveloped ocean scenery you’re in for a treat. The kids were happy hiring wet suits (not expensive) and body boarding in the ocean. The cottage was quiet and cosy and we played board games in the evenings or watched a dvd. The owner is a great guy who was really helpful and I loved hearing about the history of the place.
Every coastal walk!
Local Gems:St David’s - great little place worth wandering around.
Porthgain - the same with fantastic fish and chips.
