“We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and did everything we wanted to do and came back to a lovely homely property”
We stayed in a spacious and very clean dormer bungalow. We were particularly impressed by the standard of workmanship on the fabric of the building - woodwork, general fittings etc. We had plenty of crockery and cutlery - not always so in self-catering properties - and we are experts!
The beds were comfy - though the master bed was a little imposing!, and linen was spotless. The bathrooms were quite chic with plenty of space to put our things, and plenty of bath towels.
The owners left a very nice welcome pack and they themselves were very friendly and helpful. The property was not too far from the beach or town and yet was in a quiet backwater.
The property was very well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery. two very nice bathrooms with plenty of shelf space and cupboard space.
Be Aware:The landing at the top of the stairs is perhaps just a little small and has to be crossed to access the bathroom from the master bedroom.
Local Gems:The ’Scarborough fair Collections’ at the Flower of May caravan park just over a mile north of Filey was a fabulous discovery for an afternoon out with family.
En Route:We stopped over for an hour or so at the bustling market town of Beverley.

“Perfect !!”
No 6 Filey was exactly as it said it was in the advert and it turned out to be the best week away in a very long time. You felt relaxed from the minute you parked your car.
The owner came round and welcomed us, plus some wine, crisps and chocolates ! He also took time out of his schedule and took my husband around the town of Filey to show the local spots (and also the stay away places!).
Everything we needed was there. We would definitely go there again.
The hospitality
Local Gems:The Buccaneer - very local and fantastic food and very reasonable prices.
Falling Foss - lovely walk and waterfalls

“An enjoyable week in cosy accommodation”
Good location with a 10 minute walk to Filey town centre. Property was immaculate with off-street parking - could not have wanted for more. The complimentary bottle of wine and snacks on arrival provided a nice personal touch. Would definitely recommend to family and friends, and hope to visit again the future.
Specifically Recommend:Very comfortable and well-equipped accommodation - a home-from-home.
Be Aware:No blind in upstairs bathroom.

“We would highly recommend this holiday accommodation to anybody looking for even a short getaway in this area as this property is certainly more than you expect when you arrive.
A real gem in itself.
”
No 6 is a fantastic place for a getaway.
Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the owners, Robert, who allowed us to settle in to the house before coming to check we were all ok with everything. The owners have clearly got a keen eye for detail and definitely know how to look after guests.
The house itself is fantastic, very clean and well presented with lovely wooden floors, neutral decor, spacious bedrooms with lovely high quality bedding.
The kitchen is well stocked with pretty much everything you could think of needing, there were even cloths and towels which we didn’t expect. The cooker-oven is great - we cooked our Christmas dinner on it and it worked a treat. We also found use for the washing machine which really came in handy with our 7 month old son.
There is a large spacious yard out the back for parking which was great as we have small children, this space would be nice in the summer to sit out and have a barbeque etc.
Overall our holiday was fantastic and we feel it was largely down the the quality of this lovely holiday home.
Within easy reach of Filey town centre and the beach
Lovely quiet property away from the main road and not many people walking past (as you get with sea front properties)
Warm and welcoming owners
A great base for other North Yorkshire coastal towns (Flamborough, Bridlington, Scarborough Etc)
If you are considering staying in the property I would definitely recommend it, and despite being a 10 minute walk from Filey Centre there is a local bus runs from right outside and also a service bus that picks up from the main road less than a minutes walk away.
Filey Town Centre - lovely little shops
Filey Beach nice and clean and often quiet.

“Perfect holiday accommodation”
No 6 Grange Avenue is a perfect holiday base - beautiful, homely accommodation with very welcoming owners, Helen and Robert.
The house is very accessible for young and old, and Helen and Robert have thought about everything. A quiet residential location with very easy level access to Filey town centre, then down to the beach.
The semi-detached, professionally refurbished house has two bathrooms and can happily accommodate two small families sharing. There is ample secure parking and car port and even bicycles to use!
A choice of ground floor or first floor bedrooms for those who find stairs a challenge.
Local Gems:The beach - every aspect of it. The Pines Coffee House on Hope Street, for fresh, traditional home cooked food and fantastic friendly service.

“Three go walkabout in Filey - A good time was had by all!”
The house is really lovely. We all agreed we could live here! Robert and Helen are very welcoming and helpful and even offered us a lift into town if needed (we don’t drive). The accommodation is warm, cosy and well equipped. Filey is a really lovely place - timeless and friendly. We also used the Shoreline Suncruiser buses to and from Scarborough - GBP 4 return, or free with a bus pass. The back of the house has an enormous yard which is a real suntrap. All in all a perfect holiday - can’t wait to come back!!

Two bathrooms are a bonus
Easy walk to town
The local ’Hoppa’ Bus is excellent as well
Music in bathroom AND kitchen - Fab!
Bramwells Tea Rooms, Gallery and Cafe (2 tables at back) - opposite the Tourist Centre. Lovely shop and nice coffee

“Excellent facilities, ideally suited for families. Clean and tidy - lovely stay.”
We found the accommodation clean, tidy, well presented and maintained. It had everything you could need when staying away and self-catering.
To provide the facilities for our son was a great help and we appreciate that you had these available at our request.
The garden was great and we had the pleasure of seeing a family of Robins, including at least three babies. Location was also a plus, right near the centre of Filey within walking distance.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to others.
Everything you need is there

“An enjoyable, relaxing and very happy holiday”
We really enjoyed staying at No. 6 in Filey. The property was clean, modern and well-equipped. We appreciated the good quality towels and plenty of hot water.
Robert and Helen were very helpful and friendly owners - nothing seemed too much trouble. We would definitely consider staying there again.
Clean, modern, well-equipped, good quality utensils
Be Aware:Small points might help - couldn’t find any oven gloves and so had to use several tea towels.
A clock in master bedroom would have helped, but perhaps that was a conscious decision on your part....

“ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS!”
Robert and Helen have thought of everything at 6, Grange Avenue. They are lovely people - they never bothered us at all, but they were there if we needed them.
We couldn’t have had a more relaxing holiday. We went there to chill out and that is what we did!
Everything about this accommodation was first class. I would recommend it to everyone. I’ve told my friends about it and recommended it to them.
It was cold outside, but lovely and warm and welcoming inside. I loved my stay and will book it again. Thank you so much Robert and Helen. Well done. God bless.
Everything you need is at this property
Local Gems:I liked every shop, all the restaurants but most of all No. 6 Grange Avenue - it’s just perfect in every way. 100 per cent spotless.

“Wonderfully relaxing and friendly”
Excellent. The owners were lovely, welcoming people. They went over and above what one should expect. Every ’little extra’ had been thought about. Our daughters were thrilled with the TV in each room and Wi-Fi.
Situated in a quiet residential area of the town but near enough to town facilities to walk everywhere.
We have hired holiday homes throughout the country for the last 16 years and this (No 6) has honestly been the most comfortable, cleanest and friendliest to-date. Nothing can be faulted!
I have already recommended No 6 to people. We are looking at coming back later in the year to celebrate our anniversary.
THANK YOU!
Comfortable beds
Quiet area
Outdoor undercover area
Has downstairs facilities however there are steps back and front of the house so not really suitable for wheelchairs entering or exiting the property

“Absolutely wonderful”
The house is a beautiful property, well maintained and spacious. My family and I have enjoyed our stay and our only regret is we didn’t book for another week.
My children, who are 10, 8 and 5 years old, enjoyed not only the house but the beach and the town which are both in close proximity to the house.
It has been a wonderful week that my whole family has enjoyed immensely. We hope to return next year.
The property is approx 15 mins walk to the beach, and is perfectly located to catch public transport to both Bridlington and Scarborough.
Be Aware:There is a bit of a walk to the beach. However, as a young, active family we didn’t find it any bother at all.
Local Gems:The Tandoori restaurant and 3 Tuns pub and restaurant are excellent places to eat - the service and friendliness were exceptional.

“Apart from the weather (two days of solid heavy rain!) we had an excellent time. The cottage had plenty to do, so did not feel too disappointed not to get out”
Lovely property in a quiet location, ideal for all the family.
Ground floor bedrooms. Everything you could think of was provided from umbrellas to deck chairs in garden, bed linen and towels.
Lovely, spotlessly clean and modern decor. Laminate flooring throughout except bedrooms which are carpeted.
TVs, DVD, Sky. Plenty of parking. Will definitely recommend.
We visited Filey itself - a lovely small town, the gardens near the beach are lovely to sit and watch the world go by. We also visited the Lavender Farms on the Wolds and enjoyed a lovely lavender scone.
The cottage is ideal for all from children to elderly.
Local Gems:We were lucky to be there when the Olympic Flame came through Filey, only had to walk to main road and wait, was definitely a sight to see, and was a highlight to the holiday.

“Lovely holiday - wish the weather had been better, but we didn’t let that spoil it - we came well-prepared!”
The accommodation was excellent. It contained everything you could possibly need, and more! The decor had been completed to a high standard and all spotlessly clean. All beds were extremely comfortable making it difficult o get up in the morning!
Although there isn’t a back garden, the yard is plenty big enough for children to play (we brought a swingball). Plenty of parking space on the premises.
Overall, a lovely holiday and well worth a visit.
Well equipped, comfortable and quiet location.
Be Aware:Some may find the walk to the seafront quite a distance, but it didn’t pose a problem for us.
Local Gems:We all loved rock-pooling on a day out to the area near the Sea Life Centre at Scarborough.

The accommodation was immaculately clean. Fittings and furniture were of excellent quality. Every need seemed to have been considered and catered for. All equipment was in full working order and relatively new. We also received a complimentary bottle of wine and luxury chocolates - lovely!
The beds were amazingly comfortable, with good quality linen. Also excellent supply of ample-sized towels.
The property was on a quiet street, a short distance from the beach and town. Lots of parking space at rear of property.
Filey promenade is lovely for a stroll, with lots of benches to have a sit and enjoy the views and sea air. My Mum needs a wheelchair so Filey is great, as the promenade is on the flat, with lots of disabled parking made my life a little easier not having to walk miles from parking bays and not up and down slopes.
Shopping was great in Scarborough. Easy to access and plenty of parking in the multi-storey - spent a fortune!
Very welcoming owners who took excellent care of us. As my Mum is disabled, we needed it to be totally accessible and it was. Very comfortable and en-suite shower was excellent. Good quality, warm, home-from-home.
Be Aware:The downstairs bathroom does not have a walk-in shower, so unsuitable for those who cannot climb in or out of the bath to access the overhead shower.
Local Gems:The Walled Garden at Scamston - perfect place for browsing and tranquil surrounds (especially on a warm day). They gave Mum free hire of their mobility scooter. It was great and made her day - and mine as I didn’t have a wheelchair to manoeuvre along the gravel and grass paths.
En Route:Farm shop and tea room a short drive from Filey along the Malton Road. Delicious food and seating outside.
Lavender Wolds (on same road) - unbelievably relaxing and great food (especially the lavender scones!)

“Excellent accommodation - highly recommended. Best self-catering accommodation we’ve ever stayed in!”
Excellent accommodation with everything provided.
Most accommodation on ground floor, so would be suitable for very young and-or disabled.
Comfortable beds, well equipped bathrooms and kitchen.
Residential area and within a few minutes of shops and beach
Plenty of off-road, private parking. Owners live next door.
Accommodation very clean, which is a rarity in self-catering!
This three double-bedroom bungalow is spacious and comfortable.
Dining-kitchen - plenty of crockery etc. Large fridge-freezer, five-ring range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine
TVs in kitchen, lounge and all bedrooms. Piped radio in kitchen, lounge and downstairs bathroom!
Master bedroom is en-suite on first floor
Both bedrooms have showers, plus downstairs bathroom also has a bath. Plenty of towels.
Best accommodation in 20 years of holidays in this area.
Very warm welcome from Robert.
Would highly recommend. We have already booked another holiday here.

“A home-from-home. Just perfect”
Excellent location just 10 minutes’ walk from town and beach. Owners were very friendly and helpful throughout.
House was best stocked self catering we have stayed in. Everything was immaculate and in great condition.
Cot, high chair and travel cot available for baby. Plenty of parking.
Could not have asked for more. Thank you.
Lovely kitchen, bathroom and fittings.
All the cooking equipment and utensils you could ever need!
Lovely walks from Sowerby Hall to Bridlington - the Hall has a lovely little zoo for kids.
We recommend the Waffles in Bridlington - first cafe you come to on North Bay.

“Very highly recommended. Standard of accommodation faultless. Good value for money.”
We all had a wonderful time. Excellent standard of accommodation to a very high standard and immaculately clean.
Unexpected welcome gifts, wine, tea, coffee, crisps, nuts, biscuits and chocolates - highly appreciated.
Proprietors offered a very warm welcome, helpful, pleasant and informative at all times.
Would recommend to anyone who is physically disabled as bedrooms and bathrooms on ground floor.
Parking for up to four cars, with easy access to bungalow.

Great accommodation, five mins to beach and town. Fabulous walks on the beach to the wildness of the start of Bempton clifffs.
Scarborough great for shopping with lots to do. Whitby and Bridlington too, great for boat trips, parks, museums etc.

“Home-from-home, excellent quality self-catering accommodation - owners extremely helpful”
This is one of the best self-catering cottages that we have rented. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, like home-from-home. Had teenage daughters with us and enjoyed the WiFi, Sky TV package and iPod system.
Filey is a very nice, clean town and we enjoyed many cliff walks nearby.
Visit to York was great - only 45 minutes by car.
Would recommend this 5-star property

Everything is included, down to the very last detail
Filey - a clean, quiet town.

“A lovely place to stay - comfortable, relaxing and a very good base to travel”
Very comfortable accommodation. The kitchen was not lacking in anything - even Thermos flasks were provided. Crockery was all the same, just like at home. Plenty of pans, casserole dishes etc. Lovely to have a dishwasher and washing machine. It was lovely to feel you weren’t having to ’make do’, as it was just like being at home.
Entertainment facilities were excellent. Flat screen TV, Sky, DVD player and surround-sound radio (could even be heard in the bathroom!), and also flat-screen TVs in the bedrooms. Also internet access.
Parking was great. My husband worries about parking, but he was able to park the car and even have it under cover - excellent.
Robert and Helen are very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make your stay a happy one.
A home-from-home. Couldn’t wish for anything better
Be Aware:Stairs may be a little narrow for anyone with mobility issues.

“ONE OF THE BEST!”
Having spent many years holidaying in self catering cottages etc this will go down as one of our best. We received a warm and friendly welcome and the accommodation was first class.
Filey is a small and friendly seaside town and we certainly found the locals friendly.
There are lots of places to visit and if you feel energetic, there are lots of walks.
One advantage here is having the owners next door.
P.S. Thanks for the wine!
Very comfortable and clean.
Owners next door - very friendly and helpful
We ate at the White Lodge Hotel on a number of occasions. Food was very good. Staff friendly and opening hours suitable if you wanted to eat early.

“Perfection - nothing more to add”
The accommodation was outstanding. Equipped throughout with excellent furnishings and appliances.
The owners have thought very carefully about what is required in self-catering accommodation and it is a credit to them.
Robert and Helen have put a lot of time and effort into making No 6 a first class establishment.
There is nothing that can be improved upon and I will highly recommend this establishment to family and friends.
Nothing specifically, as everything is outstanding - equipment, cleanliness etc.
The owners are so friendly and helpful you feel as if you have known them for many years.

“Great place to stay. House very clean, short walk to beach, shops, pubs, restaurants... and some fantastic real ale pubs”
I have been coming to Filey since I was a baby and it has not changed at all (this is a good thing!). It has everything you need for a family holiday.
The house was an ideal base for our holiday and was spacious enough for five of us to stay comfortably with our baby.
Robert and Helen had really thought of everything including black-out blinds for our baby, and freshly caught fish. It was very good value too. We will definitely be coming back next year.
Great place to stay.
Short walk to shops, beach etc.
Very nice and quiet.
First floor ’suite’ means two families can stay with enough privacy
Real Ale pubs (Bonhammes)
Restaurants for everybody (San Marco, The Brown Room)
Chalet from Bakers was great

“Very relaxing holiday in extremely comfortable surroundings”
The house provides excellent family accommodation with high quality furniture and fittings. There is a large bedroom upstairs and WC and shower. Downstairs there are two twin bedded rooms and a good bathroom. All bedrooms have flat screen TV and the lounge has a flat screen TV with Sky and Sky plus.
The kitchen is very well appointed with a large oven and gas hob. There is also a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. In the large yard out the back there is garden furniture, an excellent gas barbeque and off-road parking for two or three cars.
The house is in a very quiet residential area but only about 10 minutes’ walk to the town and 15 minutes’ to the beach. The owners live next door and are very friendly and obliging. I would highly recommend the property.
Very well appointed bungalow.
Nice quiet area
Stairs quite steep and narrow so may not be suitable for the elderly, but there are two good bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs.
Local Gems:Filey has great local facilities. Recommend the Beach Chalets on Coble Landing. Also Fish & Chips on the Coble Landing.
Adrian Collings - excellent butcher.
Bonhommes Pub for real ales
Sterchi’s chocolates
Langlands Nursery at Shiptonthorpe is an excellent coffee stop for those travelling from the M62

“Very good”
The house is situated in a quiet area, yet is not far from shops and seafront. There is a large paved area at the back with patio table and chairs and covered parking area for up to four cars.
The interior furnishings and decorations are very stylish, comfortable and clean. Towels and bedlinen are good quality.
The house has been renovated with great care and provides a very comfortable holiday home. The only thing I think might be a useful addition would be black-out blinds in the bedroom.
I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Quiet location.
Easy walk to sea front
Very comfortable furnishings

“Very good”
The house and suroundings are very good and quiet.
You do need to find the short cut to the beach (south side) when walking
We felt it would have been nice to have a soft play area for children at the rear of the property.

Filey Brigg and the coast path to Scarborough
York is a must

Sorry no short cuts to beach - takes about 10 minutes walking.
However, we have now created two lawns at the front of No 6, which we class as our soft play area for children - Robert.

“Superb all-round!”
Excellent accommodation with great facilities and top quality furnishings.
Nice quiet location, a very short drive, or a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre, 15-20 min walk to the beach.
Location is great for days out to Bridlington and-or Scarborough.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
Walks on the sea-front at Filey!
Local Gems:Bridlington and Scarborough (both less than 15 mins away by car) are great days out for families with kids, but the best half-day we had was at Playdale Farm which has superb indoor and outdoor playground equipment for children as well as the petting farm.

“Relaxing family break in luxury accommodation”
We choose the accommodation because of the fantastic location, the description and the great photographs on the advert. It was much better than we could have ever imagined.
We were given a very warm welcome on a cold February evening. Our children explored the place while we were shown where to find everything.
The place was very comfortable, cosy and had everything you could ever need and more. This is a great place to stay and use as a base to explore the east coast.
We had lots of information about where to go, places to eat and things to do.
This is a great place for a family to stay or for a romantic getaway.
It would be impossible to make this place any better than it already is.

“Total relaxation in amazing surroundings!”
Beautiful accommodation, fully equipped kitchen & facilities and very flexible, (we didn’t arrive until midnight) welcoming owners.
The house has been finished lovingly to a very high standard.
Filey is a beautiful town, stunning beaches and not over touristy.
Stay as long as you can!!
Be Aware:The coffee table in the lounge is a card table (which we discovered too late)!
Only thing to provide would be a hair dryer, unless we just didn’t find it!

“Excellent”
Better than advertised - very clean and very well presented.
We have stayed in Filey for the last three years at the same time - end of October. We have always found lovely accommodation and No. 6 Filey did not let us down. It was clean, very spacious in fact everything about it was excellent.
It was a little further out of town than we expected but this wasn’t a problem - we just followed the main road. It was a five - 10 minute walk to the train station, which is very handy if you want to go to other places and not use the car.
Overall, our weekend was excellent. The children loved it and so did us adults. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to family and friends. 10 out of 10!
It caters for all ages. My parents had the top bedroom and bathroom, and we had the downstairs.
Be Aware:Nothing - everything was catered for.

“A really relaxing holiday in the most comfortable accommodation”
From the time we spoke to Robert and Helen to book our holiday we were sure of a good holiday in top quality accommodation. They greeted us as friends on our arrival and we were so impressed with the accommodation.
There was a welcome pack and a very useful information pack of all facilities, restaurants and places of interest to visit.
The bungalow is approximately 10-15 minutes’ walk from Filey centre and bus and train stations. There are regular buses which will also take you to Filey centre. By car the main coast road is only a few minutes away for trips to Scarborough, Bridlington or the Yorkshire moors.
Beautifully furnished, very clean, extremely comfortable.
Extremely nice and friendly owners
Visit Humandby (just a mile off the coast road) and try the most delicious plum scones ever! Well worth a visit
En Route:Travelled from Doncaster and visited Burton Agnus Hall. Worth a visit for good food and relaxation.

“Excellent”
The bungalow is very well equipped with up-to-date appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, large range cooker and microwave.
Exceeded all expectations. Clean, comfortable and welcoming
It is situated in a quiet location with off-road parking, but within easy walking distance of both town and beaches.
Scarborough is only a few miles away as is Pickering - the ’gateway’ to the North Yorkshire moors.

“Excellent value”
A semi-detached dormer bungalow. Very spacious, with two good sized twin bedrooms downstairs. Family bathroom downstairs with overhead shower. Big master bedroom upstairs, with separate bathroom - no bath but a walk-in shower.
All recently renovated. Good size lounge. Very spacious kitchen with five-burner stove and a table for six. Washing machine, dishwasher, full size fridge-freezer. Nice back garden with seating area.
Recommend - 10 out 10
Very clean, lots of space. A real home-from-home
Local Gems:10 to 15 minute walk down to Filey town centre and beach.
10 minute walk from Filey train station if going by train.
If travelling with young children, McDonald’s just outside Goole

“Lovely”
Ideal family accommodation with superb self-catering facilities - better than the pictures on the website!
Would love to stay here again but I think it will be hard to book a place here once word gets around!
Filey is such a lovely place to stay for a holiday or long weekend, and this accommodation is the icing on the cake.
Luxurious mod cons such as Wii, Sky etc
Be Aware:Be aware that it is a 10 minute walk to the beach - but this didn’t bother us!
Local Gems:The Corner Restaurant in Filey is good for families
5 Leys is good for couples

“Very good”
It was exactly as described on the website - really nice, clean and tidy with a few home comforts.
The house was very clean and well presented.
The owners had left tea, coffee, milk etc.
They had accommodated for children very well with a Wii and games etc. They had thought of everything.
We would def go again.
It is well situated in a pleasant area to stay - a really nice house

“First Class”
The property was excellent, far exceeded our expectations and in a lovely residential area.
Nice back garden with comfortable seating - ideal for relaxing.
A leisurely stroll to the town centre and only slightly further to the beautiful beach.
Everything you could wish for was provided.
Very comfortable and lacked for nothing.
The walk to the beach was slightly longer than advertised

“Most satisfactory”
A very high standard of presentation and facilities. Beautifully done woodwork throughout.
Nice, handy private garden space with outdoor seating.
I don’t think the website mentioned the garden and patio chairs, so this was a bonus
Quiet but within easy reach of beach and all of Filey’s amenities.
Able to park easily.
Beautifully presented and thoughtfully set out and kitted out - very comfortable
Great quality of farm shops and associated cafes on the way over from Thirsk - plenty of good local fayre!

“Home-from-home”
The bungalow is decorated to a very high standard. Everything is new and we found it to be very comfortable.
The owner met us on arrival and provided tea, coffee, milk and biscuits which was very nice of them.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. Everything we needed was there.
The bungalow is situated on a nice street about a 10 minute walk from Filey Beach
Home comforts and luxurious furnishings.

“FANTASTIC!”
Very quiet, the blossom trees gave a great welcome.
The house was in the right spot - away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and just 5 minutes by car to the beach and lovely promenade.
Plenty of shops in the town centre. Bridlington and Scarborough very close and worth visiting.
Overall the house made our stay. We were so comfortable and did not want to come home.
The warm and friendly greeting and the whole house - just perfect
Local Gems:The beach is just amazing.
The walks on top of the Great Orm just breathtaking.
Not appropriate - only travelled from Bradford!
