Summary:

“A cosy cottage in a quiet village which is a good centre for West Wales”

We stayed at Ty Sinc in May 2010 as well and loved it so much we booked again for 2011 immediately. And we have done the same this time and are looking forward to returning in May 2012.

We find this quirky cottage warm and very comfortable for the two of us. The wood-burning stove warms the place beautifully on cool evenings, and the shower and bath are wonderful. The addition of Wi-Fi and a washing machine this year are great.

Cribyn is a good base for West Wales especially for touring by car. The cottage is ideal for a couple or families as there are two en-suite bathrooms and a lovely open plan living area.

Only downside, I can get no O2 mobile signal at all at the cottage and there is no landline. Also no TV signal but can watch quite a lot of live TV on Wi-Fi these days (worked well)

Specifically Recommend:

Cosiness and quiet location.

Local Gems:

Llangrannog beach at low tide and the view fronm Pen Rhip to left of beach. Also great walk along cliff top to right of beach. Stunning scenery.

Drive from Tregaron along Elan Valley to Rhayader is fantastic, as is the kite feeding at 3pm at Gigrin Farm, Rhayader.

Summary:

“A relaxing haven. Fantastic value for money. Relax and enjoy”

A stunning tin cottage with views across Welsh fields located in a small village. The cottage is decorated to a very high standard, with gorgeous views and a snug wood burner. Great off-road parking, good location, well kitted kitchen.

This is a hidey hole away from the world - the village is not more than a few houses and so does not have a local pub or shops but is a fantastic base for the surrounding area and to have some relaxation. It is within driving distance (15-30mins) of Aberaeron, New Quay and Lampeter.

There is a great farm shop in Sarnau to stock up on fab local produce. Bring a small BBQ to use out on the decking if the weather is nice (An in-situ BBQ would have been great and would save buying unenvironmentally friendly disposable ones). Note there is no TV reception (a bonus!) but they provide DVDs and a player in case the weather is bad and you want to tuck up with a film.

The cottage is extremely well kept and very clean, it looks newly furnished with a fab roll top bath off the double bedroom. We would definitely go back and will look at other UTT properties in future. Relax and enjoy.

This is a break away from it all. If you want TV, nightly entertainment and parties this is not the place for you. UTT philosophy is one of environmental and community sustainability - if you choose this property you should respect this philosophy in respecting the local environment and community.

Local Gems:

Sarnau farm shop
Aberaeron - Harbour Master restaurant is highly recommended
Llangranog beach is stunning
