“Wonderfully relaxing and beautiful place”
It was very peaceful and relaxing at Windermere Lodge, the location was beautiful as were the views of the Fells. The lodge was also very well equipped with lots of information and extras.
The double bedroom with en-suite had marvellous storage for all our clothes. I would have no hesitation in recommending the lodge to people, especially families as there was a good selection of DVDs and Play Station games also.
The tranquility, the views, the situation of the park for touring the area and the walks.

“Well equipped, clean and peaceful, Windermere Lodge”
The Lodge was lovely, clean and cosy. Everything you could possibly need from cutlery to board games. The Lodge was at the beginning of the Park so was quite a steep incline to the Haybarn Pub, but worth it as the meals were lovely.
This property is definitely suited to ALL ages, but particularly to families with dogs. The Park itself is well maintained however the large bins could do with emptying more often

“Excellent holiday at Windermere Lodge in Limefitt Park”
An excellent holiday in comfortable, quiet surroundings.
The Property has a good, quiet location with minimal traffic passing and lovely views, a short walk from all the Park’s amenities.
The lodge had nice touches with Hand Wash, Washing-Up Liquid, Toilet Rolls and Dishwasher Tablets.
The Park shop has basic but useful products so you do not have to go shopping as soon as you arrive.
The lodge is ideal for couples or those with small children.
Morecambe Beach is worth a visit. About a 45 minute drive but clean with all the normal seaside town amenities.
Local Gems:The Queen’s Head Pub serves excellent beer and Gastro pub type food, bit more expensive but well worth it. The Mortal Man is an excellent Pub serving good pub food and has lovely views from the beer garden.
Brockhole Visitor Centre is worth a visit as it kept our kids, 3 & 5 entertained for free (apart from parking charges). There is also a Treetop Trek and Cruises on Lake Windermere which are worth the extra money.
Rheged Centre - www.rheged.com. Although not too far from Limefitt Park this is well worth a visit even if just for its Rolls & Sausage!

“I highly recommend Windermere Lodge on Limefitt Park. It’s 5 star - the owners have thought of everything we could possibly need in a lodge”
The lodge is not obstructed so you can see all around and the views are panoramic. The lodge is red hot, the bed is so comfy, and the linen is luxurious - same as the towels.
The shower is hot and fast and I love the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The picture on the TV is excellent and the sofa is comfy - the lodge ticks every box.
Then there’s Limefitt Park - a dog heaven !!!
The quiet, secure and relaxing location and amenities of Limefitt Park.

“Lovely accommodation in a tranquil setting”
We had a wonderfully relaxing four days at this stunning lodge. All three of us agreed that we would love to come back next year.
We spent our time during the day walking in the fabulous surrounding areas. The dog loved being out all day and so did we. We came back to a well equipped and maintained lodge in the evening and chilled out in the comfortable accommodation.
We could not have been more pleased with our break, even the weather was extraordinarily good.
Not the cheapest accommodation - but definitely worth the extra for the high spec

“Make sure you book a holiday here! First class accommodation”
The accommodation was excellent. It was immaculately clean and well-equipped.
The location is quiet yet not too far away from Windemere and Ambleside.
Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it is also ideal for families (nearby swimming pass included etc).
We were very impressed and will definitely be going back next year for a week, and maybe a long weekend later this year as well!
The high standard of the accommodation, and the beautiful location of Limefitt Park.
Ideal for families
We visited our normal favourites around the area

“A great place to visit and visit from”
It was excellent, giving both relaxation and tourism if required.
The accommodation was superb and the holiday park was better than expectation. The park is well worth visiting, providing a variety of holidays and activities. Both the lodge and the park were very well appointed, welcoming and gave us a very restful holiday.
It is well-placed to visit all areas of the Lake District and the surrounding area. It is easy to travel to and travel around the area was both easy and stress-less
The lodge was superb in location and appointment

“A thoroughly enjoyably place to stay and ideal location to explore The Lakes”
Peaceful and safe location within easy reach of the attractions
Everything you could need provided at the lodge, along with all the mod cons to make your stay even more comfortable.
The lodge could not have been any cleaner
The shops and bars-restaurants at Bowness are only five minutes away.
Dog friendly and pets are well catered for with walkways and a dedicated dog area
Food and drink very reasonable at the Haybarn located on the site
Ideal if you are after a quiet place to stay but within reach of all the bigger towns and villages
Local Gems:Haybarn pub on site and Bowness had everything you could need

“Great location, fabulously clean, secure and well stocked for a dog-owning family with little ones.”
Upon arrival the lodge was immaculately clean and on first sight appeared to have everything we could need and the park itself is set in a beautiful location flanked by some big hills (which I did climb on one day!)
The bedroom was a good size and everything we needed for the little one (travel cot, etc) was in place.
The lodge is well sized, with a three piece suite, coffee table, flat screen television, dvd player (plus stack of dvds) and, to my joy and my wife’s annoyance, a Play Station 2!
The two bathrooms were a boon, with the shower room perfect for me, and my wife and Olivia (nearly 2) using the bath in the bigger bathroom.
The decking area was very large and also secure enough to leave two large dogs on (a Springer and a Lurcher) knowing they could not escape.
If you are bringing young children then I have to say this is one of the most well equipped places you could imagine. There are kids’ books, toys and even a box of unused and unopened plastic cutlery, tomee tipee cups, etc. An excellent touch.
The service was excellent, myself and my wife could not get the oven to work and called out Gary, who was courtesy personified and arrived within half an hour to show us how to work it (you press the knobs in!.... I know, simple eh.....).
This is the perfect place for a quiet family break, made even better by the fact that it is both toddler and dog friendly.
I hope to return in the near future.
Well done to the owners and the team.
Everything to be honest, but if you have toddlers, I would really recommend here as you do not have to drag the whole house with you.
Also, if you search pram hire Windermere you will find a company that can hire a good outdoors pram buggy that is good for walking. Pick it up once you arrive to leave space in the boot for the dogs.
The Watermill Pub....... Fabulous beer brewed in own micro-brewery and lovely fresh food, the little one’s chicken nuggets was freshly cooked, freshly battered chicken breast.
En Route:Straight up the motorway, so no stops!

“A 5 star relaxing break”
Our lodge was lovely. It was 10x better than I thought it would be.

“Truly calm, relaxing and comfortable”
The accommodation is as described on the website, if not better equipped and presented.
The lodge and site are immaculate. Good facilities excellent location for what you would want from a visit to the Lakes.
We found it relaxing as the accommodation was far better than we expected and the location was good as you can explore the surroundings without using the car once you have arrived.
The three local pubs are good for both food and beer with Windermere only 3 miles away if you are looking for something else. The surrounding countryside is stunning - ideal for walkers and cyclists of all standards. Would be nice to visit again in the summer
Local pub, The Queen’s Head was good for Sunday lunch, with very friendly staff and good beer, as was the pub on site which is only 2 minutes’ walk away

“The holiday was brilliant with all eventualities covered for in the lodge”
We stayed at the Windermere Lodge on Limefitt Park which was only a stone’s throw away from all of the things that we wanted to do on our stay. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and felt as though it was brand new.
The fact that lots of little touches had been added made it just perfect. The accommodation was better than described in the advert and everything had been catered for, even down to the nightlight and a travel cot and baby-carrier if you needed them. The DVD player and DVDs, the Play Station and games went down a treat with the boys.
The park itself was quiet and pleasant to walk around and The Haybarn was great for meals of an evening along with the darts and pool table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and used our complimentary passes for the pool at Whitecross Bay.
Would definitely recommend a visit to this lodge... so much so we are thinking of booking it again next year.
Right from the booking through to arrival and departure this was a no-hassle holiday. The owners even came and introduced themselves and asked if there was anything more that they could do for us (they had already looked into getting up to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top farm for us and e-mailed us their findings) What more could you ask for
Be Aware:The owners could not have done any more, they had already put together a first class standard of accommodation.

“It was an amazing, peaceful break away from working life”
The lodge was more than what we expected.
It was a good distance walk to the two pubs, but for a relaxing and walking weekend it is to high expectations...
We are quiet young couples and we enjoyed the peace and quiet and just a short drive in to the local centres. It was a good location and would advise anyone to try the GO APE Attraction.
Surroundings - one pub on the site as well as a little shop and a children’s play area. We also had a little beck which in the hot weather was a nice little stroll in the shallow waters. Then you have two pubs about 15 minutes’ walk - one was a little expensive but the other was OK priced. Then about a 10 minute drive you had Windermere and Bowness which was a little bigger and had the lake which was beautiful to take a boat ride along. Even in the rain the sights were amazing! Could provide just a few more essentials in the cabin which people use on a day-to-day basis.
The peace and quiet for a relaxing weekend it was the best location for this, even with children.
The great attraction of Go Ape.
You need a car to get out of the site and visit places as it is not walking distance, so do not travel on the train.
Local Gems:Go Ape - only about a 20 minute drive but was well worth it - an amazing experience
En Route:Barnard Castle
Owner’s Reply:
As always it is great to hear our guests enjoyed themselves!
Just for clarity the 2 pubs are .6 and .7 miles away respectively and should take about 15 minutes to walk to. We will be checking our web sites to ensure that that is made clear.

“A truly fabulous, relaxing break and we will be going back without a doubt”
The lodge was beautiful inside and set in stunning surroundings It was cleaned and tidied to a very high standard and everywhere smelled fresh and new.
The lodge is very cosy and we felt at home right away. Everything is well maintained and cared for. We were very pleased to discover a dishwasher as the last lodge we stayed in did not have one.
It was nice to sit on the decked area as the surrounding area is so beautiful to look at.
If you need a mobile phone signal try walking to the top of the site (where the new developing lodges are) it worked every time for us!
Be Aware:The handles on the pans can get hot!
Local Gems:The Haybarn on site is a very friendly pub with delicious home cooked food. There is a pool table and a small arcade here too.

“If you want a quiet few days this is an ideal place to stop”
The property was well described. We found it well equipped and extremely clean when we arrived. Just what we wanted when we have a young baby.
Limefitt Park and the lodge are set in beautiful surroundings. There was snow on the mountains when we were there. We found the location convenient for days out around the Lake District.
The owners had left a few games, books and DVDs in the Lodge in case the weather got bad. I thought that was a nice touch. They seemed to have thought of everything you could possibly need.
The complimentary swimming pool at Whitecross Bay is worth a visit if the weather is wet.

“The holiday was fantastic - we were so lucky with great weather also”
The accommodation was perfect - it exceeded our expectations in every way.
It was spotlessly clean, everything was modern and in good working order. Dishwasher and microwave provided also. Beautifully warm also. Surroundings wonderful - beautiful hillside views all around.
We were on a walking holiday and we can recommend all the local walks. Some are very hard work but great rewards when you get to the top !!
Be Aware:It is quite difficult to find supermarkets at first as we are used to so many more down South!! They tend to be tucked away and take a while to discover - Directions would have helped us at first.
NB - Please read Owner’s Reply at foot of page
The Queen’s Head Pub just down the road does excellent food with lovely roaring fires.
Supermarket at Windermere just behind the station.
The biggest Lakeland Plastics store in the world at Windermere!
