Summary:

“Everything we needed was at hand, we were made to feel at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would stay there every time we go to Torquay and fully recommend to anyone”

My family was very pleased and impressed with Crown Lodge. We were made to feel very welcome with a ’make you feel at home’ attitude from John and Lynda Leadbetter.

The room we had was equipped with everything we may need, including tea, coffee and drinking chocolate, along with a fridge. There was also a TV and use of Wi-Fi, which was a bonus for my two teenage children.

The bathroom also included everything we needed, including shampoo and shower gel, along with towels. The room was very clean and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. I would also like to say how impressed we all were with the choice we were given for breakfast, the list was endless and the food we had was delicious.

Crown Lodge was close enough to Torquay town centre for us to be able to walk to but not close enough that you could hear the sounds from the fair, which was in town at the time of our visit. We were also given the option to have an evening meal too, which I wasn’t expecting, and the choices were varied, and included good old fashioned home cooked food. John and Lynda were also able to recommend some good places for me and my family to visit, and had a varied selection of leaflets for us to look through.

Specifically Recommend:

If you want to be made to feel at home, and have everything you need to hand, then I would recommend Crown Lodge.

I was also aware that there were facilities for disabled people, which was nice to see.

Local Gems:

Kents Cavern was brilliant. (www.kents-cavern.co.uk)

We also went on a boat trip to Dartmouth and saw some fireworks at sea, which we absolutely loved.

We also went to Bygones in nearby Babbacombe, which we enjoyed.

We also discovered some lovely beaches and coves. There were so many more places nearby, we just ran out of time!

En Route:

As we travelled from the Midlands I like to just get to my destination, so we did not stop anywhere, apart from a service station to stretch our legs.
