“Great stay, even in the rain, and would stay there again”
Tudor Lodges is on the top of a hill 3 miles from Looe so you really need a car if you’re staying there. It’s a steep hill into Looe so not really a good walk unless youre ultra fit! There is a country pub just outside the Lodges which welcomes children etc. but that’s about if for very local food, you need to get in the car for anything else.
Looe has a great range of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.
The accommodation is just lovely, spacious lounge, diner - kitchen and we had three large double bedrooms all of which could have accommodated a wheelchair user if required. There are balconies through level French doors from 2 bedrooms, the kitchen and lounge, with a ramp up to the front door.
Would stay there again - but would hope for some sun!!
Very light and spacious - it was very rainy when we stayed but we didn’t feel cooped up with three children. Great facilities, very clean and a real home from home.
A washing machine and tumble dryer are great when you have children with you on holiday.
The kitchen was very well equipped, parking right outside each lodge and lovely views of the surrounding countryside (when the rain left off!)
Polperro had a great range of shops but is a very small Cornish fishing village so don’t expect much in the way of well-known large shops. We found it much quieter to take the children down to Looe beach after about 5-6pm as it was easy to sit down, the children could run about and make sand castles for a couple of hours and were nicely tired for bed!
If it is raining and you fancy a quiet morning, Trago Mills shopping emporium about 10 miles away is good - we bought 110 felt pens and some colouring books for about 4.00 GBP which kept the children quiet for hours!
The only thing that could have improved our stay would perhaps be internet access or a Freeview box - there were rainy days when 4 TV channels really weren’t enough! Or perhaps a DVD player. Luckily the Olympics were on or we may have gone slightly mad with all the rain!!
Polperro - unless you’re old and infirm, just walk to the beach - the 3.00 GBP pony and trap ride is just for about 200 yards or so and is a bit of a tourist trap!

“Very enjoyable, exactly what we expected”
Because it was our second visit, we knew exactly what to expect. Accommodation was exceptionally clean, well designed and spacious (we had no disabled with us.) The general setting was quiet, 3 miles to Looe, and the local pub had a good range of food and was well within walking distance for all our party. The only thing I think that would have been a nice addition was internet access.
Specifically Recommend:If disabled, the planning of the lodge is excellent.
Molly & Mike welcomed our two dogs.
Nice vistas and peace & quiet to enjoy with the outdoor seating area
The nearest shops are in Looe (3 miles) and the general area is very hilly (with exception of the site). A car is necessary but there are lots of interesting places within a short drive
Local Gems:The Snooty Fox Pub - (beside lodges).
Great Trethew Manor Hotel (restaurant).
Anthony House & Gardens.
The Copley Arms. (pub & restaurant).
Seaton (beach). Polperro.
