“Perfect location, immaculate accommodation and very dog-friendly”
Beachscape was in a perfect location, 2 minutes from the sea, 15 minutes to dog-friendly pubs and cafes and a short drive into Cromer. The area was beautiful.
Everything about the accommodation was immaculate and included everything you could possibly want inc. games, books, DVDs etc. Not forgetting essentials like washing up liquid, foil and kitchen rolls.
We absolutely loved it and our Cockapoo can’t wait to go back, for longer next time.
The location of the property, It was perfect. I could live there.

“A fantastic place to get away”
This chalet was just perfect and exactly what we were looking for. It was a short break with our two Parson Russell Terriers and we had a great time.
The Chalet-type accommodation was modern, compact and well designed, it was clean and well-equipped and we were really happy with the standard. It is on a simple site which was well maintained, spacious and relaxing. We were literally a stone’s throw from the beach and coastline.
We would get up early with the dogs for an early walk on the beach then back for a relaxing breakfast before planning our walk for the day along the North Norfolk Coast. This is dotted with lovely towns and villages along its way. The beaches are large and impressive and a great place to be.
The owner communication was excellent.

“A lovely place to spend a relaxing break”
The chalet was very clean and comfortable with a lovely outlook over the grass to the sea. It was an ideal place to holiday with the dogs and just a short walk to the sea.
Be prepared that the beach is only accessible at low tide and down some fairly steep steps, but once down there at low tide there is a firm sandy beach and the dogs loved it.
The chalet had everything we needed for our stay and even a gift pack of handmade biscuits for the dogs. We stayed in October and it was a peaceful place to stay.

“Gem of a chalet in stunning location”
Beachscape was comfortable, clean, cosy, but light and airy too with a stunning view. We loved being so close to the beach - a stroll across the green, through the sand dunes and a vast stretch of clean, flat sandy beach.
Ideal for energetic dogs and then a gated verandah for them to snooze on.
Local eating places are dog-friendly.
Watching the sunrise.
Walking in Bacton Woods if the day is hot for dogs.
Steep steps to the beach meant we couldn’t access the sea wall with a wheelchair.

“Good central spot for visiting other seaside towns and inland beauty spots”
This is a wonderful place to take your dogs on holiday.
The surrounding area was clean and well kept and literally one minute walk to the dog-friendly beach.
The chalet was so well equipped - they seem to have thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay.
Fantastic food at the local pub, the Poachers Pocket. The friendly staff not only welcomed you but your dog as well
The same can be said for the nearby town of Cromer - I have never seen so many dogs escorting their owners round the gift shops !.

“Beautiful and relaxing Beachscape ”
We had the pleasure of staying at Beachscape the first week of June with our two Labradors and we all absolutely loved it! The accommodation offered everything we needed for a relaxing midweek break with the vast, empty, dog-friendly beaches practically on its doorstep.
With hotel quality pristine bedding, hygienic, well-equipped kitchen and complimentary dog biscuits on arrival, it was a like a home-from-home. The gated veranda allowed us to leave the chalet door open without fear of the dogs going on solo walkabouts while we dined Al fresco.
Just a 15 minute walk along the coastal path we stumbled upon The Poachers Pocket, a dog-friendly local pub with welcoming staff and tasty home-cooked meals. Cromer is only a 30 minute drive away too.
I can highly recommend this beautiful, quiet holiday park and we will most definitely be returning next year.
There are quite a few steps down to the beach itself so unlikely to be favourable to anyone with mobility issues.

“The best self-catering accommodation experienced”
This accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, and contained every thing you may need for a wonderful break.
The site is very well maintained and is wide open parkland, with the bonus of being minutes from a large expanse of dog-friendly beach.
A totally relaxing place to unwind and get rid of accumulated stress.

“If you want a relaxing time with a beach and wooded areas just on your doorstep in a lovely warm and comfortable chalet, this is the place for you (and your dogs!)”
Wonderful location within a stone’s throw of a quiet and dog-friendly beach. The chalet is warm, welcoming and sparkle-clean with everything you could wish for, including the thoughtful provision of consumables such as hand soap and washing up liquid, so much appreciated when you also have all the gear to bring for two dogs and the car is full to the brim!
The outside decking is a real bonus so that you can dry yourselves and the dogs after a morning getting soaked on the beach, and it gives them somewhere to be outside that is safe. Ours aren’t used to people passing by as our home is set back from the road, but their barked greetings were met with smiles and wry nods from other dog owners. They eventually got so tired out from the walks and play that the barking stopped but it was nice to be made to feel that it wasn’t a big issue for other people.
The layout of the park is simple and uncongested, and you have a lovely view from Beachscape across the field ..and you can just see the water. Highly recommended for a relaxing get-away where your pets are genuinely welcome. The information Debbie provides in advance is hugely helpful and there’s lots of ideas for things to do in and around the local area.
The beach just opposite the chalet is wonderful and we had it to ourselves for almost all of our stay.
Bacton Woods is gorgeous, you need to take the car but it is just 2 miles up the road and well worth a trip, especially for a cooler walk if the weather is warm.
Fish and Chip shop in Bacton (check opening times) is recommended for a take-away but as it’s all freshly cooked, just pop in to dog-friendly The Duke for a drink while you are waiting

Look forward to returning in 2016 which counts as a good recomendation from all of us - dogs included!!
Particularly good for families with children (and dogs) as there is such a fantastic yet safe beach to enjoy.

“Lovely quality accommodation in excellent quiet location with great beaches and walks. Good food in local pubs and very dog-friendly. Will be returning without question”
We had a lovely stay. Very clean, modern place with all you need for a comfy stay. Nice decking front with fence - ideal for the dogs. The location was great with the beach only 1 minute walk away with stunning views from your front window over the park and sea.
The local fish and chip shop was fantastic and local pubs did great food and were all dog-friendly. Visited all the beaches mentioned on their website and they were amazing and must say Sea Palling beach was extra special.
Also visited Bacton woods for walks and Cromer and Great Yarmouth. Pleasant countryside all around you made driving very pleasant. Will have no hesitation in returning again in the future. I have recommended to work colleagues and friends.
Local pubs, Poachers Pocket and Bacton fish and chip shop for food. Also the Lighthouse pub - very friendly good food and dog-friendly.
Bacton woods and all the beaches are great and also visit Cromer.
As described above

“Great relaxing place to stay close to the sea”
This was my fifth stay in Beachscape since 2012. It is great to be so close to the sea, in fact you can hear the sea crashing on the prom during the night.
I have stayed here by myself and also with my Mother or my Sister and her dog. There is a large area of grass in front of Beachscape to exercise dogs.
It’s a nice walk along The Coastal Path to the Poachers Pocket PH in Walcott on Sea for lunch or dinner and the pub is dog-friendly.
Sunrise and sunset can be amazing.
The sea and beach.
Local Gems:Poachers Pocket. Fish and Chip shop in Walcott and also one in Bacton if you are like me and don’t cook much..
Horsey Beach to watch the Seals.
Sheringham Park, which is National Trust, has good walks and views and beautiful flowers most of the year. Plus bird feeders if you like to take photographs of Robins, Nuthatch, Finches and Blue Tits etc.

“Highly recommended, very relaxing....”
Lovely location, beach front and very easy to find. Accommodation was spotlessly clean. We have a dog but don’t want to stay in doggy places. There was no sign of dogs having been in the property, it was very very clean and everything was in excellent working order.
Friendly and relaxing location in easy traveling distance of busier areas such as Cromer. Would highly recommend.

“Excellent, would recommend to anyone and everyone. Cant think of a single thing that wasn’t covered. The inventory was a brilliant idea and providing DVDs to watch was a real nice touch.
Sitting on the little porch, with a drink in hand, in the sunshine wrapped up against the cold December air you could have been anywhere in the world.
Sorry couldn’t manage only one sentence.”
It was a superb location very quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle of normal life. The cottage was so clean and amazingly kitted out - a real home-from-home.
The dogs loved it- we don’t think they’ve ever had so many walks!! Lily, our youngest, wasn’t too impressed when her ball was swept out to sea - I think the water must have been too cold for her to swim after it.
The local shops only a few minutes away were well stocked and the staff very friendly, I even had a small lottery win. (Is that arranged for all visitors.....)
The beach was fantastic sand although it was concrete steps to get down to one level and then metal steps to the beach. The tide went right out and Debbie had even thought of a tide clock in the cottage which certainly fascinated me.
A trip to drive past the gas terminal is very worth while and I would have liked to have seen it lit up at night but doing nothing all day and lots of fresh air we were asleep by 10pm at the latest.
Cromer, Holt and other nearby towns were fascinating and well worth a future visit to explore even more.
We are thinking of returning in better weather but this time with our grandchildren as there is so much to do and they’ll love the beach.

“Amazing skyscapes at Beachscape, a little gem of Norfolk”
Brilliantly positioned on a small but peaceful and friendly holiday park. Great size for a family or party of four or less. Everything you’ll need for a self-catering getaway and plenty of places within walking distance if you like to dine out.
Local shop just a short walk away too. Fabulous to have the beach one minute from the front door, you can hear the waves at night if you leave a bedroom window open. Loved every minute of our stay.
So many dog-friendly places nearby, makes the holiday that much more enjoyable when dogs are made welcome.
Local Gems:Had a lovely Indian & Chinese takeaway from the leaflets provided and the Poachers Pocket was a great Sunday carvery with all our dogs made very welcome.

“A gem inside a jewel”
This place is a dream if you want relaxing times and care free, safe dog-friendly holidays. Lovely place in a lovely beachside apartment. Clean, tidy and everything you need at hand.
Very helpful owner too. Big supermarket and High Street in Stalham a short drive away but the eye opener is the beach on your door step - your dogs will adore it as mine did. As Arnold says ’’I’LL BE BACK’’.

“Truly hard to find fault with this gem of a property.”
Wow...2nd visit here and again I couldn’t find fault with a thing. Chocolates and Christmas crackers awaited us on arrival...the property was warm and welcoming and spotlessly clean.
Location is perfect, a peacefull spacious park just feet from direct access to the beach where we walked for miles finishing with a hot chocolate in the nearby Poachers Pocket pub.
I can’t reccommend this property enough. The owners were attentive and very helpful. I also came here with my chidren earlier in the year, aged 13 & 11...they loved the open spaces and feeling of freedom and are insistent we return soon.
Truly just couldn’t fault this property at all, our every need was catered for...just perfect...

Great for amazing value carvery Sunday lunch at nearby Poachers Pocket.
And not an amusement arcade in sight....just perfect..!

“A relaxing and regenerating much-needed holiday which was trouble free”
We wanted a dog-friendly, relaxing holiday away from all the hospital appointments and daily struggles my husband and I endure on a regular basis. Beachscape is situated on Rainbow’s End Park just a stone’s throw away from the beach which helped make our holiday extra special because my husband has bone cancer and mobilises with two crutches so he was able to access this area much easier.
There are also local shops and public houses close by and a lovely little town with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Beachscape is equipped with everything needed for a trouble-free self catering holiday including candles in case of a power cut! It’s very clean and furnished with a contemporary and seaside design, the actual overall site is quiet, very clean and tidy with adequate recycling sites for rubbish etc. It is suited for couples, families - dogs and can be accessed easily if there is someone with mobility issues my husband found it problem-free!
The Poachers Pocket situated half a mile away is dog-friendly, supplies excellent meals and entertainment, and the staff are great.
The Gunters Arms is worth a visit which is a few miles away. It is very arty and eccentric!
Mundesley was lovely, right by the sea and a sweet little sea side village atmosphere.
The Ship public house is dog-friendly and provides excellent meals, the staff are lovely too!
Jacqui L - Stoke on Trent, Staffs - 16th Sept 2013
Owner’s Reply:’So pleased to welcome you and your husband back for another visit. Thank you for your comments regarding access for people with mobility issues - it’s always useful for other guests to know this. I agree that The Gunton Arms is a lovely pub to travel inland to as a change to the nearby ones along the coast’’ - Debbie

“Excellent time at Beachscape, lovely property with homely touches.”
The property was really lovely, very clean with some nice touches to make it feel homely. Essentials were there like washing-up liquid, condiments, loo roll, ice in freezer to name but a few. Beds were very comfy and cosy. Lounge and kitchen area was lovely too, plenty of space even though we had two dogs with their baskets etc. Location was excellent looking over at the sea. Lots of info on things to do, where to go.
Not much to do in Bacton but we ate at Sugar and Spice Cafe, which was excellent and dogs were allowed. Also ate at Poachers Pocket which was excellent and allowed dogs. Bacton Woods is great, both us and the dogs loved it. Really pretty and lovely walks. We also walked along the coast to Mundesley but that pub only allowed dogs in the bar and we were too late for food.
We went to the beach at Happisburgh which was lovely much nicer than Bacton and they allow dogs too. Local chippy was excellent but they did shut at 7.30.
Very quiet area
Dog friendly.
Because we had 2 dogs, I personally didn’t really like the fact we had to put dogs on leads for morning and night time wee and any other times needed when we wanted to just stay in and have tea or a drink, although the veranda was bigger than I thought. Other people may be OK with that, it’s not a criticism, just my preference. We did let our dogs off leads away from the properties on the open field, which was OK and they loved that.
The beach right outside the property wasn’t really good access, just some iron steps, which even my dogs didn’t like, especially coming back up, so would not be good for disabled people. And you had to watch the tides as they came right up to the wall, no beach left, I suppose depending in what time of year you go. We went in August.
Poachers Pocket
Sugar and Spice Cafe
Bacton Woods

On the way back we stopped at Priory Maze in Sheringham, had a wander around their lovely gardens then had lunch. Dogs welcome on leads. Very nice

Owner’s Reply:
’’Thank you for your detailed review, to which I’ll add a few points. Bacton is a very quiet village but for one so small is spoilt for choice with eating places in a short walk! I intend to create a blog in 2014 and will add information as to what is in and around the village. As a rural county where there are many early risers (the sunrises are often spectacular!), it is worth noting that many eating places do shut earlier than you might expect.
The park prides itself on being dog friendly, but dogs must be on leads when close to the properties, to ensure that children and non-dog owners are equally happy within the environment. There are some dog-restricted beaches, but the one immediately in front of the park isn’t. There is a leaflet detailing the dog-restricted beaches in the properties and a link online. The beach does come and go with the tide and so we provide a tide clock in each property to help you plan your day. You can still walk along the sea wall at its base during high tide or there are beaches further along the coast that remain despite the tide’’ - Debbie

“Fab place to stay”
This cottage was lovely, everything you needed was there and very clean and peaceful.
The beach is fab when the tide is out you could have the beach to yourself. It was the first time the dogs had been to the sea and they loved it.
I
will def return. As for the property it is kept in fab condition....a bit like home from home. My rating 10 out of 10
Poachers Pocket pub...excellent and dog friendly, fab food.

“Luxurious place for a break on a beautiful, peaceful park”
Beautiful chalet on a fantastically well maintained park.
The chalet was very clean and well maintained. There was everything that we needed and more - loved the veranda where we could sit and look out over the sea.
Lovely walks close by and my husband was pleased that it wasn’t far to walk along the sea wall to the local pub, shop, chip shop and Chinese!
The park was very dog-friendly, which makes a change from places where they are just tolerated. A place to go if you want peace and quiet - no clubhouse etc, which was just what we were looking for.
Would absolutely recommend Beachscape to others and will definitely be returning!
Those wanting a relaxing holiday would find Beachscape ideal.
Dog owners will love it!
Pub in Bacton village - friendly landlord and dog friendly, too!

“Brilliant holiday and very relaxing”
Took my Mum and dog here for a quiet holiday after Mum’s operation. The chalet was perfect, could not fault it at all. Home-from-Home with all the comforts you could need. Modern and immaculate.
Dog loved it and laid on the porch and watched all the doggies walk by, kept him quiet for hours. I loved the deserted beach and walked morning and evening.
Weather could have been warmer, but chalet was warm and cosy and the sound of the sea was so relaxing. Had some good days out from here, but loved coming back to the chalet for peace and quiet. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again
Chip shop in Bacton and general store very friendly and helpful

“A perfect getaway”
An excellent place to stay, home-from-home with all of the creature comforts.
Particularly well placed for taking dogs and children to a safe, secluded beach holiday.
Booking was very straight forward and welcoming.
A great central point to visit other towns up and down the idyllic Norfolk Coast.
This is our second visit to Beachscape and we certainly intend to visit again very soon. Thank you for a great weekend!
A great place to take children (and a dog) if you want to escape the usual hurdy gurdy of seaside holidays and experience a gentler atmosphere although you are within easy reach of large towns like Cromer and Sheringham.

“Great place to get away from it all for a while”
The chalet was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The heating was efficient, as was the provision of hot water. Beds were comfortable and the decor throughout tasteful and contemporary.
Breakfast in the morning sunshine on the decking was wonderful. With the gated frontage the dog could also enjoy sitting outside and watching the world go by!
The hosts provide an array of entertainment in the form of a wide selection of DVDs and games. The large grassed area at the front of the chalet was great for the dog, and the walk along the seafront is fab. Access to the beach can be gained by walking a short distance. Will definitely visit again.
If you’re looking for a peaceful get-away by the sea, it’s perfect.
Local Gems:Fish and chip shop in Walcott (Kingfisher I think!) serves fab fish and chips, we did have to queue for a while but it was worth it!

Owner’s Reply:
’’Thank you Debra for taking the time to review Beachscape. There is also Kingfisher cafe next door to the Kingfisher fish and chip shop in Walcott. They are independent businesses of each other but both worth a visit.
There is a fish and chip shop in Bacton itself which we recommend, along Coast Road, where you will also find the Duke pub, Sugar & Spice cafe, Sea Star Chinese restaurant-takeaway and Bacton Superstore, our local shop for a wide variety of goods’’ - Debbie

“Peaceful and very dog-friendly”
Our weekend break took place on what was arguably the coldest and windiest weekend of 2013. While the rest of the country was awash with deep snow, we endured the biting easterly wind off the North Sea, but even this did not deter our party who were there for some relaxation, and dog walking with Stella, who didn’t care how cold it was.
The site is right on the sea front, and is a dog walkers’ paradise. Although the rules stipulate that dogs must be on a lead when on the grass area, no dogs were, but all owners we saw were very responsible, which made for a lovely relaxed time for all concerned.
Our property, Beachscape, is one of two that the owners, Debbie and John own, and the attention to detail was superb, even down to providing board games and DVDs if you wanted to use them.
The property was spotless, and everything that you wanted was provided, but you did have to take your own towels which was never a problem. Sometimes no matter where you go, it’s nice to take something from home with you.
The grounds were immaculate and well kept, and it’s obvious that as the area develops, this will be its selling point to those that visit.
If you want peace and quiet with your four legged friend, then you need look no further.
Open spaces for dog walking.
Local Gems:Poachers Pocket pub in Walcott. Dog-friendly and right on the beach front.
En Route:Cromer.

“Perfect, relaxing well-earned holiday!”
Wonderful in every way - property was modern, clean and contained everything you needed for a self-catering holiday even candles in case we had a power cut!
The location is excellent right next to a lovely clean beach and the site was well maintained e.g grass cut and tidy surroundings. Access to the property was easy, even for my husband who needs two sticks to walk etc. Overall location was perfect.
We visited North Walsham several times which is the closest for supermarket and other shops. Also Bacton itself has a small shop for milk, bread, newspapers etc. We also went to Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Mundesley. Local pubs are brilliant for food, beer and wine - can highly recommend The Poachers Pocket, The Lighthouse, Vernon Arms and The Gunton Arms which is definitely worth a visit.
If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing self-catering holiday which is perfect for families, with or without dogs, this is perfect.

“Fantastic place and enjoyed our stay”
This cottage was fantastic. It sits on a lovely site and has straight access to the beach. As we are dog owners it was great to be able to take the dogs and have long walks along the beach.
The cottage was very clean and it had everything you could ask for with kitchen equipment. Great for families as it even had a washing machine. All the rooms are decent size and lovely decorated.
I would recommend this place to anybody who loves being by the sea.
That you can take dogs

“Highly recommended dog-friendly accommodation in Bacton, Norfolk”
Excellent, clean accommodation overlooking the sea.
Dog-friendly with a short walk to the beach. Large grassy area in front of Beachscape ideal for children and dogs to let off steam.
Close to other seaside villages, Mundesley, Walcott, Eccles, Sea Palling and Horsey.
Book Beachscape for a cosy place to stay beside the sea.
Local Gems:Poachers Pocket, PH in Walcott - Dog and people friendly
Bacton Fish and Chip Shop, Coast Road.
Small Supermarket in Coast Road, Bacton - under New Management, very helpful.
Although we were not able to visit the beach at Horsey this time to see the Seals, it is a must for wildlife lovers especially at this time of the year, November, when the Seals and their new pups can be seen on the beach.
Ruth T, Norwich, Norfolk - 5th December 2012

“Bacton and the Norfolk coastal area is full of interest and history and has coastal, farming and broads - it’s a special place”
We went to Norfolk for the first time and were really impressed. We had amazing walks out of the property straight onto the beach and one day we walked along the beach to Mundesley and had a drink at The Ship, and walked to Happisburgh. We visited Horsey wind pump a NT property - had a lovely walk.
Everyone is very welcoming at pubs if you have a dog.
Cafe Bacton - best breaky ever!
Property immaculate - we’ll be back.
Horsey wind pump.
Blakeney point and Cley on Sea.
Norfolk has so much to offer we didn’t really do anything touristy - we just made it up as we went along.
The Ship @ Mundesley
Nelsons Head @ Horsey Mere
Cafe Bacton just a short walk from the Rainbows Park.
Just walking along the beach and seeing seals.
We didn’t stop anywhere en-route but the scenery on the way through means you don’t realise you have driven there as it’s just beautiful.

“A chance to get away from it all in comfortable and relaxing surroundings”
The property was modern, had all necessary appliances and was comfortable. We immediately felt relaxed and ready to settle down for the week. Particularly liked the balcony which meant we could relax and know the dog was safe with the door left open.
The green area in the park provides a good outlook and the properties are nicely maintained and spaced out in about eight groups of four.
There was a short stroll to the nearest shop, which went nicely with the dog’s early morning walk, whose owner is ever ready with a friendly greeting.
Ideal for those wanting to chill out.
Be Aware:Only problem we encountered was getting a phone signal on O2.
Local Gems:Unfortunately one of the pubs is now closed which only leaves the nearby Poachers Pocket (best approached along the promenade) but this is a gem and a must to visit whether as a couple, a family or with a dog.
The food is home cooked and dogs are welcomed (there is a bowl of water for them).
There is also a Chinese restaurant for eat-in or take-away, and a quality fish & chip shop within walking distance.
Phil B, Colchester, Essex - 31st July 2012
Owner’s Reply:
’’Thank you for your helpful review. Regarding mobile signal - 02 has always been the weakest, Orange is OK, Vodafone has the best. We’ve always been able to make or receive calls, you just sometimes need to wander around a little.
The Keswick Hotel is within walking distance and next door to the Poachers Pocket. The restaurant offers evening meals and a great Sunday Carvery. It’s used and recommended by the locals as well as holidaymakers. If you get in the car, there are numerous pubs within a short drive, The Lighthouse Inn at Walcott being the next nearest. There is a list within the welcome folder of local places to eat, but feel free to recommend any others to me and I will add them’’ - Debbie

“Great place to stay, really clean, has everything you could possibly need for your stay, beach & open grass area on your doorstep what more could you want!”
During the booking period the owner was most helpful and very speedy when replying to emails, great when you need to make decisions quickly.
Property was lovely and fitted four adults comfortably plus our dogs. The veranda was fabulous as gated to keep wet dogs safe whilst drying off and the property has everything you could possibly need.

“Perfect for a short break, even in the winter”
This is cosy accommodation, with a high specification and well equipped. The cottage is tastefully decorated and in good condition. The accommodation is warm, even in January.
The location is perfect as it is only a stone’s throw from the beach, perfect for long walks.
We have stayed in this cottage and the owner’s newer one, called Tides, on the same site. Both are perfect for a break away from it all.
Ideal for people with dogs and in the summer children.
We managed to find a nearby seal colony with pups.
In the winter months there is not so much in the area for children.
Local Gems:The local hotel - not sure what it was called, but the food was good.
(Note - Property owner thinks this was probably The Keswick Hotel, saying ’’they serve evening meals and a Sunday lunch carvery and the food is very good!)’’
Jackie C, Hitchin, Herts - Jan 2012
Owner’s Reply:
’’Thank you for your review. It’s very exciting to see the seals, something everyone should try and do at some point when in Norfolk. There are boat trips during most of the year at Blakeney, and the coast going towards Great Yarmouth, near the Broads, is good for seal spotting.
During the winter months the outdoor activities and parks for children do shut, but there is still much to do for kids. I have added a reference on my website to a site called ’dayoutwiththekids.co.uk’ which lists many of the children’s activities in the area.
There is a Tropical Leisure pool, Splash at Sheringham, a swimming pool and ten pin bowling at North Walsham, a cinema, go karting and the RNLI Lifeboat Museum at Cromer (apart from January), an indoor playbarn at Knapton, Bure Valley Railway between Aylsham and Wroxham runs trains most weekends and school holidays, Norwich Castle and Sea Life at Great Yarmouth to give you a few ideas. These of course can be enjoyed all year round, not just during the winter!’’ - Debbie

“A very friendly and peaceful environment and worth every penny”
Had an amazing time at the Beachscape house.
Really enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Waking up every morning and being able to walk down to the beach was one of the highlights of my trip.

“Perfect accommodation and location for a family with a dog”
Our stay at Beachscape was a very relaxing experience. We found the accommodation on a dog-friendly website and the owner was happy for us to stay with our two St Bernard dogs.
Site was very close to the sea and had a large open grass space located just outside the accommodation suitable for exercising the dogs. Even when the tide was in and we were unable to get down to the beach, there was a grassy walk along the coastline.
The accommodation itself was modern, clean and above our expectations. It was a little miniature home-from-home with all the little extras catered for. For example, cling film, DVDs, washing tablets etc.
The village of Bacton was quiet, but had a couple of shops and a pub, but was a very good base point to travel to other areas in and around Norfolk.
Bacton woods had been recommended to us and it was beautiful. A really nice place to spend a hot day, or part of the day in the shade in a beautiful woodland setting.
I would recommend this property to anybody who wanted to go on holiday with their dog and enjoyed coastal and countryside walking. I would suggest a little research into which beaches were dog-friendly as some had restrictions at particular times of the year.
I would specifically recommend this location to dog owners or to people who wanted a quiet getaway.
Local Gems:I would recommend a visit to Bacton Woods

Owner’s Reply:’Thank you for taking the time to review the property and I’m pleased you enjoyed your break. There is a link within my website, on the pet page, called ’Dogs on Beaches’which gives the information required to see which beaches have summer dog restrictions. I will also print the pdf off to put in the folder at the property for future guests reference’ - Debbie

“A lovely modern chalet in a peaceful location by the sea”
The chalet was lovely, modern and well-equipped. The shower and bathroom were very clean as was the rest of the chalet. We stayed in February and the chalet was warm and welcoming.
The park itself was quiet, clean and right on the beach. We explored the area and found the information provided in the chalet very useful.
I would recommend the chalet to anyone wanting a get-away from it all. An added bonus was the chalet being dog-friendly, with a gate to keep the dog on the property.
The owner has been very pleasant and helpful and I will certainly visit again.
Bacton Woods is a must for dogs.
Overstrand to Cromer and back is a lovely walk.

“Relaxing, good beach walks and great get away venue”
The accommodation was in a great setting yards from the sea. You could hear the sea from the main room and see it from the large window in the lounge. Everything was very clean and well provided for.
The heaters were on when we arrived and it was very cosy and warm. We even had a welcome surprise for our Christmas break, which consisted of a Christmas tree with lights, a box of chocolates and crackers - lovely touch.
Obviously the owners care that the occupants will feel comfortable and well looked after. The information packs provided are full of useful and essential information, everything from when to let your dog on the beach to emergency services, superb.
Rest assured you can relax when you get to Beachscape.
The bedding is extremely clean, as are all the rooms.
The kitchen is well equipped for a short stay.
There is outside decking too, so you can relax outside and take in the sea view, great!
Just be aware of the un-made-up approach to the site. This is not attributed to the owners, but you should be very careful when driving and walking.
Other than that, nothing at all, although if I was going to be really picky, I would say a CD player would have been nice
The Duke Public House does superb food, and a bottle of wine with our meal was excellent and was only GBP 6.99

“Huge thumbs-up! We loved it and can’t wait to return”
The accommodation was accurately described and the photographs on the website are an accurate representation of the accommodation. It was a really lovely place to stay.
The location of the cottage was stunning and far exceeded our expectations, also the quality of the accommodation was high and exceeded our expectations.
The holiday home is modern and contemporary, it is warm and cosy and the location is beautiful. The beach is within a stone’s throw and even on a cold November day, it was lovely to walk there.
We stayed over a weekend only and didn’t really do too much in the way of activities while we were at Beachscape, just relaxed, played with the children and walked the dog on the beach -- it was perfect!
There are lots of places of interest around though, and plenty of tourist information in the cottage, so if you were interested in doing more or were staying for a longer time, I’m sure you wouldn’t be bored!
The owners were really kind and even gave us a bottle of wine because we were celebrating our anniversary.
We didn’t do much apart from relax and walk the dog on the beach...
One thing that was lovely is that we walked from Bacton to Mundesley (turn left out of the holiday park when you get to the beach) up to the Ship Inn, it was about 3 miles-ish and you can take dogs into the pub which was great. We didn’t eat there but lots of people were eating and it seemed good. Lovely pub and really friendly staff.
Be really careful on the slip road as you drive up to the holiday park, it is super bumpy and pot-holey, if you value your suspension, take it really easy and slowly.
Local Gems:Ship Inn in Mundesley, it was really nice and as a bonus dogs are welcome too!
En Route:We didn’t travel very far, so didn’t make any stops on the way.
May have struggled to find it easily without our GPS though!
Hannah, Ely, November 2010
Owner’s Reply:
I’m pleased you enjoyed your anniversary at Beachscape. There is a new double bed which should increase the comfort factor for future guests.
I now send some driving directions to help find the place in case you don’t have GPS!
