“In one word....’Faultless’!”
Visited on a recommendation and was not disappointed.
The hosts are excellent and attentive but at the same time quite unobtrusive.
The situation of the farm on the edge of Exmoor is quite beautiful and well kept with a surfeit of friendly animals to keep young and old entertained. Another plus is nowhere is of limits and you are free to roam around the fields, of course always remembering to close the gates.
The actual standard of the accommodation can only be described as exceptional. I will not pick out individual aspects of the property as without any exception you will find everything that you would expect to find in your own home.
On arrival expect to find home made cake, eggs from the farm hens and some milk to get you started.
If you genuinely love the country with animals which are quite unobtrusive if that is what you wish, then Weatherham Farm can only be described as a delight. I for one will most certainlyl be going back!
Quiet environment, with dark sky and close to Dulverton where you can resupply, eat out etc.
Easy access to lovely walks, National Trust and much more.

“Comfortable, clean cottage with very friendly, helpful owners”
Steve and Fiona are very welcoming and helpful. We were welcomed with delicious cakes and freshly laid eggs. Weatherham Farm is easy to get to though also quiet and secluded.
The cottage and the grounds are extremely well cared for. Toads Breech is a perfect place to stay. It is immaculate. It is warm and comfortable. There is a wood burner if it is cold. Logs and kindling are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with disposables like washing up liquid. DW tablets, cling film, foil kitchen roll etc all provided.
There are books and games provided.
Dogs are welcome and even they are welcomed with biscuits and a towel for cleaning.
As a party of three adults with a dog this was an excellent cottage and a great base for walking on Exmoor.

Local Gems:Dulverton is a lovely small town with everything you could need. It is a good base to start walks from.

“Nothing more to add - another lovely relaxing week!”
Our third visit and once again Toads did not disappoint.
Peace and quiet is exactly what we always want and it’s exactly what we got!
Steve and Fiona are very welcoming and Basil is a friendly bouncy Springer - enough said! The dwarf goats will have all your stale bread but the stripey one is a bully so make sure the other one gets a share!
The views are fab and unlimited wood for the burner to keep things cosy.
The stars through the Velux windows are amazing!
Love Dulverton especially The Bridge pub !
A perfect cottage in a lovely spot. We will be back!
If you like walking then you must do the circular walk based on Winsford and have lunch in The Oak (it might be called The Royal Oak ). The views were amazing but be warned there is a very muddy gully so make sure your boots are water proof! You might be lucky and see some red deer as we did!
Further afield Tarr Steps is also lovely.

“Perfect in every way!”
We had a wonderful week in this PERFECT cottage. It is an absolute gem - idyllic location, beautiful cottage packed with character, and very welcoming hosts.
The cottage is extremely comfortable, very well equipped and spotless!! The local area is stunning, plenty to explore. Our kids were totally at home and LOVED the animals.
We were planning our next trip before we’d even finished the last one! We would (and have!) unreservedly recommend it to anyone.
Everything!
Local Gems:Loved Dunster. Lovely town to wander around and castle well worth a visit.
The Dunster show was on the week we visited which was great. Beach at Dunster is lovely too.

“Peaceful paradise!”
If peace and tranquillity are your requirements, then this is the perfect venue.
Firstly, Basil and his owners are very welcoming.
The cottage is very well appointed and is in good condition with a new kitchen layout and cooker.
Although the heating is perfectly adequate, the efficient wood-burning stove adds to that cosy feeling.
The location is excellent, with Dulverton nearby for cafes, delis, pubs and shopping. With only a short drive into the heart of Exmoor or to fishing lakes and rivers, there is plenty to keep one occupied during the stay.
I cannot speak too highly of Weatherham Farm.
Bring some biscuits for the two goats!

“We loved it here!”
We had a very relaxing few days here. The cottage was very clean, cosy and well equipped and had a very comfy bed. We were made extremely welcome (as were the dogs) and had the feeling that nothing was too much trouble - not that we needed to ask for anything as it was all provided.
The farm has wonderful views and all the renovations have been done to a very high standard. Our dogs really appreciated a secure paddock to have an early morning run in.
Dulverton is a lovely little town with plenty of choice for eating out or buying locally-produced food to eat at the cottage and the village shop at Brompton Regis is within walking distance.
Walking on Exmoor is fantastic and we particularly love the walk over Dunkery Beacon down to Porlock, but also found plenty of good walks nearer to the cottage.
Peace and quiet in a beautiful location with easy access to a great choice of eateries

“A cosy, comfortable gem of a cottage in beautiful surroundings”
What a find! We spent a lovely, relaxing Christmas in this cosy and comfortable cottage. The owners, Fiona and Steve, were incredibly friendly and attentive.
The cottage itself is very well equipped and the property, its appliances and crockery etc were all clean to a high standard.
It is very quiet and not overlooked at all, it feels like a detached property despite having another smaller cottage next door.
You are free to walk around the fields belonging to the farm and meet the sheep and goats. There are also plenty of walks nearby. The pub in the nearby village is within walking distance although you would need a torch in the evening to find your way home! There is plenty to visit in the local area and we definitely want to return as we have much more exploring to do.
We would definitely recommend Weatherham Farm to anyone wanting a relaxing break to recharge the batteries, it is perfect either to just chill out in the cottage and its immediate surroundings or for those wanting a base for walking.
Added touches such as delicious cakes left as a welcome and unlimited logs for the wood burner were much appreciated.
This is a special place and we look forward to returning soon.

“Top quality accommodation in a great location”
Where shall I start The home-made cake and cookies on the kitchen table, plus biscuits for the dog were a great welcome, as well as the actual welcome from Fiona soon after our arrival.
The cottage is very comfortable and the fact that everything is included in the price (including as many logs as you want for the log burner) was a bonus.
The surrounding grounds were perfect for taking the dog out to do what he needed, with plenty of places to visit just a short car journey away.
The dog-friendliness of the property was amazing. Before we arrived, Fiona had emailed us a list of local dog-friendly places to eat, outside the property was a bucket and sponge to wash the dog if needed and inside was a dog towel and a sheet to put down in the hallway for muddy paws - and boots!
If you don’t have a dog, don’t be put off - I’m sure they are just as welcoming to non-dog owners!
This was a great property in a very quiet area - just the owls hooting at night.

“A haven of peace on the edge of beautiful Exmoor”
We have recently returned from our 4th break in Toads Breech and as usual it was an extremely comforting pleasurable experience. Fiona & Steve are wonderful hosts, always helpful and also great fun!!
The cottage is very comfortable throughout and sometimes in the spring or autumn the log burner is particularly welcome. Weatherham Farm is in a beautiful location and we really enjoy sitting in the garden looking out over lovely views of Exmoor. The views when driving down the lane from the Farm to the main road are superb.
We take short breaks and prefer to relax around the farm rather than driving to the coast etc. but we really enjoy Dulverton particularly dinner or lunch at Woods Wine Bar and the Bridge PH.
Mention must be made of the dog-friendly aspect. We first came to be introduced to Weatherham Farm through the dog friendly website and our elderly Gordon Setter always gets a great welcome and he loves pottering around one of the fields. Basil the resident doggie always gives us all a fantastic welcome.
During the Spring of this year we were fortunate to be staying when Fiona & Steve worked very hard when their ewes delivered their first group of lambs. It was an unforgettable experience to hold a tiny lamb that had been born only an hour or so earlier.
For us, Weatherham Farm is a real haven of peace and we look forward very much to our next visit.
The ability to relax in a very peaceful and lovely part of Somerset.
The cottage is ideal for self catering as the kitchen is spacious and the living room very comfortable

The Co-Op is great for food shopping, well stocked with good pricing.
The George at Brompton Regis is well worth a visit
Porlock particularly The Culbone Inn
Hazelbury Mill at Crewkerne is a great place for a stop particularly at lunchtime

“With many years experience of self-catering holidays Weatherham Farm is one of our favourites.”
Our second holiday at Weatherham Farm and can’t wait to get back for a further week next year. Such a warm welcome and attention from Fiona and Steve to make our stay extra special in a very comfortable cottage with lovely gardens to enjoy and peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Even our dog Bess received treats on arrival. Plenty of logs available for comfortable evenings by the fire.

“Fabulous Exmoor retreat...look no further for comfort, a warm welcome, and attention to detail”
Another wonderful break at this beautifully located farm. We were impressed on our first visit in May, but since then Fiona and Steve have re-roofed the stables and renovated the barn to make this a truly special venue.
We took our dog for the first time recently and he too received a very warm welcome, with delicious comestibles (canine in his case!) on arrival, and he soon made friends with Basil (Fiona and Steve’s Springer Spaniel) and enjoyed meeting the sheep, hens, and goats - the latter from a distance!
Fiona and Steve’s passion for the area and what they do shines through and we look forward to returning to this haven.

“Just superb”
Weatherham Farm is a superb holiday location. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome by Fiona, Steven and Basil the dog.
The cottage was very clean, cosy and comfortable with lovely touches such as soft fluffy towels, homemade cakes and plenty of logs. ( in case it gets cold ).
The farm and gardens are amazing with wonderful views.
We spent ages just watching the sheep with their lambs and the playful goats.
The cottage is well placed to visit the many varied attractions of Somerset and North Devon.

“A perfect welcome - you will definitely want to come back soon”
Toads Breech, the larger of the two cottages at Weatherham Farm is a delightful, cosy, welcoming home-from-home. Beautifully decorated, with a really well equipped kitchen, wood burning stove and two really lovely bedrooms. And if you have teenage children, believe me, the WiFi is a massive bonus.
The views are to die for and most importantly, the welcome that Fiona and Steve give is perfect after a long drive and long week at work. Being welcomed with lovely cakes and everything ready to be able to put the kettle on, light the fire and kick back is just heaven. I need to book again soon. Highly recommended.
Sunday lunch at The George in Brompton Regis is very nice but you would be wise to book in advance. However you may well be tempted to make use of the kitchen and hibernate in the lovely cottage. I did!

“If you want friendly, cosy, quiet and dog-friendly - this is the place for you”
The cottage was peaceful,relaxing and comfortable. The little touches made you feel welcome eg nice towels cake on arrival and dog treats. A dog bucket and cloth was provided for washing the dog when we came back from a walk showing he was very welcome.
The gardens were beautiful showing Fiona and Steve take real pride in their home. Also the sofas were lovely and comfy making you want to curl up on them in front of the log burner.
A lovely walk through the woods at Selworthy and then coffee and food at the Periwinkle tea rooms.
Also walk by the river at Tarr Steps and food at Tarr Farm
Dulverton was a lovely little village with high quality shops and places to eat - many dog-friendly

“A place that is being loved!”
This was the second time we stayed at the lovely cottage. Everything is being loved by the owners, Fiona and Steve. As well as the cottage, the welcome presents for us and our dog, the garden, their sheep, their own dog, Basil, the chickens, the goats as well as we were.
The place is quiet and recommended for people who love to be surrounded by nature. From the cottage you can visit so many lovely places, as Dulverton, Dunster with its castle and garden, the Exmoor NP as well as Dartmoor, do beautiful cliff hikes in the North.
It is important to know that at the property there is livestock, but there was always a very big field we could use to walk with our dog and let him off the lead.
The cottage has got all the equipment you need and also got good beds.
We loved the place, the atmosphere, the owners and their lifestyle.
We have been in Devon and Cornwall more often, but this area is just so very beautiful.....
