“If you’re wanting luxury and comfort with your dogs, Helsbury Park is the place to go. It has everything you and your dogs will need. All the properties are terrific - I’ve been in them all. All well equipped, great dog walks, beautiful swimming pool complex. Just fabulous.”
This was our third visit to Helsbury Park but our first stay in The Farmhouse.
Helsbury Park is a location for our dogs, they just love the acres of freedom on their walks and the favourite walk is down to the river.
The Farmhouse, while being large and quite imposing, was also warm and cosy during the bitter cold weather we had. After being out for walks it was a joy to come back to the warmth and comfort of The Farmhouse. We all soon felt very relaxed and the dogs settled in just fine.
The swimming pool is a superb extra.
We cannot recommend Helsbury Park too highly.
We know it is perfect for families as many relatives came with us and stayed in the other houses, the ages of all ranged from 20 months to 76 years.
The children loved it all. Doggie people couldn’t ask for more.
Enjoy the location to the full.
Enjoy the pool.
Enjoy Daymer Bay and Boscastle, both close by.
Camelford offers local shops and take-aways which are great for everyday needs.
If the weather is fine, don’t miss out on the beaches.
On the outskirts of St. Merryn there is a pub called The Cornish Arms great food.

“This holiday location is a must, with fantastic views, something for everyone, including the dogs, and a warm welcome from the owners - you wouldn’t want to miss it. Bring on 2013 when we return.”
This was a surprise holiday for my Mum’s 60th and a fantastic surprise for all it was. The property is all we could wish for and our welcome from the staff and owners of the Farmhouse is warm, kind, friendly giving us plenty of advice.
Our children enjoyed the fab indoor swimming pool twice a day regardless of the weather. The dogs were tired after their day exploring the beautiful grounds of Helsbury and enjoyed the beautiful Daymer Beach which is a definite must for everyone.
For the rest of us this holiday was so relaxing the beds a dream as we were asleep in seconds. We preferred to eat back at the Farmhouse even having a Pizza Night in the massive kitchen and take in the views from the best room, the Breakfast Room.
This holiday is a must for anyone having both dogs and children. We had such a great time and because we’d saved money from not eating out we decided to book again for 2013. As per my email to Dave Wilson,
’’Thanks for all you do - I never want to wish my life away, but I can’t wait for 2013 to return to the Farmhouse’’
Everything is fantastic!!
With children the fab pool is great especially if you don’t get great weather
For the dogs it is the extensive beautiful grounds of Helsbury Park to explore
For the rest, just the Farmhouse is all you need with a nice bottle of wine and a comfy seat in the Breakfast Room.
The best beaches that both the children and dogs can enjoy are Daymer and Bossiney Haven.

“A great place for families or groups”
We were visiting to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday - not everybody knew everyone else and we booked a couple of the barns.
Everyone had their own space - but we could meet up for meals etc.
It is marketed as a dog-friendly place - and that’s certainly true. It’s also incredibly eco-friendly with recycling, solar panels etc etc.
There was a swimming pool being built - that would have been great on the rainy days that you always get in Cornwall! Whatever time of year you go...
Bring some boots - it gets muddy... The dogs loved it.
Local Gems:The local beaches are great - The food is amazing. Life’s A Beach in Bude does great Bistro-Brasserie type seafood.
Rick Stein in Padstow worth a visit (but pricey!!)

“Heavenly Helsbury - a place for all seasons”
We were one of the first groups to stay in the Farmhouse and it is brilliant, the best self catering accommodation I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in a lot all over the world. We were met by the owner who was very welcoming and who personally gave us a conducted tour of the farm and all its facilities. Everything was in tip-top order and no questions were left unanswered.
Every need is catered for, a genuine 5 star property. We were using Helsbury as a base for walking the northern section of the coastal path from the Devon border to Crackington Haven. The luxury of being able to soak our aching limbs in the fabulous pool at the end of the day was a great incentive to keep us going. A wonderful place to stay with stunning views and although we enjoyed the walking we always looked forward to getting back and enjoying Helsbury.
Helsbury has an excellent location for exploring this part of Cornwall and wonderful sections of the coast are only a short drive away. There are also many other attractions such as Eden, Llanhydrock and Heligan within easy reach. However, don’t ignore the grounds which are well worth exploring, peaceful and tranquil strolling along the Camel early in the morning or early evening is a wonderful way to start or end to the day.
We can’t recommend Helsbury strongly enough and we hope to return to use it as a base for the next section of the coastal path from Crackington Haven to Padstow.
Excellent location
Fabulous swimming pool
Plenty to do all year round regardless of the weather
Brilliant for dog owners
Eco-friendly
St Kew Inn and The Mill House Inn, Trebarwith Strand both good for food
Port Isaac if you love Doc Martin
Llanhydrock, Heligan and Eden Project
