“Great sized family holiday let”
Stayed with friends and their families at the house for a week. Thought the house was very spacious and week equipped. DVD and TVs in the room was great, along with the beach equipment that was left for us to use at the address.
Great location for the beach. Only a few hundred yards away.
Catered well for three families with young children and dogs.

“A wonderful week. Thank you”
St. Benets is a wonderful big house. Very clean and a plethora of kitchen wares which enabled us to entertain our family on the Sunday with no problems.
It had a lovely holiday atmosphere. A place where four big dogs were welcome was very much appreciated.
The nearby beach with the seals, was all we needed.
Walking on the sea shore.

“We would highly recommend this property to any age group”
This is our second stay at St Benets, we had to come back as we loved it so much the first time. The house is beautiful and extremely well equipped.
This a wonderful dog-friendly property and the location for the beach is unbeatable. The Sandy beach is literally yards away and it is where we spent hours walking out dog.
This property is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
For anyone wishing to holiday with their dog, this place is fantastic.

“Stunning!”
Our second visit back to this house, such a beautiful house very spacious and for those with dogs, the garden is actually dog-proof, two of the dogs are little devious Houdinis - but they couldn’t find a way out!
The beach is just stunning and love the fact it is manned by a life guard in the family section. There is a dog section which is clearly marked as you get to the beach.
The people who work at the entertainments arcade are a wonderful bunch, so friendly and willing to give guidance on where to visit in the local area.
We will definitely return for a third visit, Sea Palling is now a firm favourite of mine in the UK, the house really does mirror the tranquil beautiful setting of Sea Palling.
My hat comes off to Sue and all staff at East Ruston Cottages, they really do pull out the stops to make you feel most welcome and the welcome yummy pack for people and dogs is just lovely.
Friendliness of Sue and East Ruston staff
Community feel people are so welcoming who live and work there
The beach, is simply stunning and clean (even the dog area)
Davenport Magic Kingdom and for those with little ones Bewilderewood is ace. Both of them approx 20 mins away

“A Norfolk gem”
The property is exactly how it is described, we all loved it and would recommend it for families and dog owners.
The extra little touches - poo bags, dog bowls, holiday collars, home-made dog biscuits, as well as flowers on the table and boxes of tissues in every room.
The pub
Local Gems:The beach and the friendly people.
Chris J - Great Addington, Northants - 4th May 2015
Owner’s Reply:’’Thank you Chris for taking the time to review St Benets and I am so pleased you liked the house and the area. The people of Sea Palling often get a mention in the guest book for their friendliness, it’s such a little village and so many people have dogs that they have a lot in common with many of our guests. Many people live there rather than it just being full of holiday homes and that gives a great feel to the place, even out of season. The pub is also popular with guests and of course, having the beach at the end of the road means that the you can be on the sand (or even in the sea) within a couple of minutes of leaving the house! A Norfolk gem about sums it up!’’ - Sue

“Great holiday home close to the beach”
A great house, very well equipped with everything you could need. Welcome pack was fantastic, thank you so much. Very dog-friendly with dog bowls, throws and even a crate although we didn’t use it.
Dogs loved the beach and paddling in the rock pools although the weather was very windy and made walking a bit difficult. Even saw a seal on the beach and got ourselves on TV during the local news!!
Would highly recommend especially for large family gatherings, we had tons of space and a sofa each to chill on!!!!Loved the fact it was so close to the beach and we didn’t need to go anywhere else. We walked and chilled - the perfect holiday combination. Thanks so much
Ideal for families
Be Aware:Agree with other comments that a downstairs loo would be useful.
Local Gems:Food at the Reefs Bar was great, not so good at chip shop.

“Fabulous trip down memory lane!”
We chose to stay in St Benets as we wanted a big enough house for all the family to stay in to celebrate our Parents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Could not believe it when we found the house, as it was the house we used to live in!
It has changed in the 32 years since we have left, but loved staying there. Very clean and comfy, open fire in the lounge was very cosy, especially for the evenings spent reminiscing.
Plenty of room for all of us, bedrooms were spacious and comfy, bathroom on the top floor is huge!
The beach is a must and if you have children - the amusement arcades are great fun, they will love a stint at winning the tokens!
Local Gems:The Swan at Stalham is a great place to eat and the staff there are fabulous, they looked after us a treat!
The Broads are a must-see whilst you are in the area

“A really warm, comfortable place to stay with masses of room”
We really loved our short stay at St Benets, it was warm, very well appointed and really comfortable. We were in Sea Palling for our brother’s wedding and it accommodated some of the wedding party perfectly, a short stroll from the beach and village hall, we were able to get everywhere we needed to be quickly and also had time to enjoy a bracing walk on the beach.
Thank you for the delicious goodies you left for us and it was a treat to have a very well stocked kitchen so that it made cooking for ten easy.
A fantastic property, really well looked after and with lots of room for everyone to relax in.
Lots of space, masses of sofas and TVs everywhere, even though we didn’t have time to switch any of them on!
Local Gems:The local beaches are fabulous

“Amazing property in a fabulous location”
Beautiful well equipped house in a fabulous location.
The beach at Sea Palling is amazing. Our dog enjoyed long walks and we got to see a few seals up close. The house is clean, warm and spacious perfect for a couple of families and dogs are very welcome which is a great and hard to come by.
Highly recommend this great property and location. The local farm shop has a great range of products. Reefs Bar was handy for the football fans amongst us. The arcade was great for the kids, just the right amount of things to do.
Beach walks. Seal a-plenty for nature lovers.
The local farm shop.
Reefs bar for food & sports fans.

“Clean, relaxing and genuinely dog-friendly”
Fantastic house with loads of room and every comfort you could ever dream of.
Very clean, safe and warm. The dogs loved the close proximity to the beach, as did we, loads of lovely walks and were very lucky with the weather considering it was November!
Sue was fantastic and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. So dog friendly.
Would highly recommend and we will certainly be coming back again. 5 star
Very dog-friendly, even provide throws, bowls, holiday collars and yummy biscuits.
Sea Palling is fantastic for dogs and walking in general, peaceful and relaxing. Walk for miles with just dogs and seals for company.

“Excellent accommodation, excellent location, not too busy, but not dead”
Excellent location for both walking on the beach with the dogs and the local bar, the Reef.
Very friendly place to stay, locals very helpful, dogs welcome in the pub.
Beach was fantastic for the dogs, not busy and huge!
House very clean when we arrived, great facilities in the house, all that was needed.
Would recommend this accommodation.
Property Manager was extremely helpful with both Information prior to holiday and with sorting out an issue when the fence blew down with the stong winds, very prompt with fixing.
The beach and local bar, the Reef.
Local Gems:The Reef local pub.

Owner’s Reply:
’’Thank you for your kind words Janine lots of ’excellent!’ - We like that. Sea Palling really is a good location for dog-friendly holidays and great for families too with just enough in the way of cafes and amusements to provide interest but not too much ’kiss me quick’!
Friendly locals, a great, safe (Blue Flag) beach, genuine dog friendliness and that lovely big house with secure garden all add up to a good holiday and I am so glad you enjoyed yours’’ -

“Would return, a well placed and welcoming holiday home”
The property was well situated, close to the beach for long walks with the dogs and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack with local bread, eggs, jam, cake and fudge went down well and even home baked dog treats welcomed everyone in the party.
Plenty of space for our very large family gathering and room for even a quiet read of the paper. Dogs are completely secure in the back garden and welcomed on the beach. Perfect retreat for families, couples and dog lovers.
I would love to come back as it’s well situated to explore the Norfolk countryside. Lots of good places to eat out.
A night in front of the open fire in the front room.
Early walk on the beach.
Let the dishwasher do the dishes!
I agree a draw back for some was that the stairs are steep and if both bathrooms are in use, there is a water flow problem
Local Gems:We loved The Swan at Ingham and
The Greyhound inn was a nice meal.
Horsey beach was covered with seals basking in the sun.
A day on The Broads was relaxing.

“Spacious, comfortable, stylish, dog-friendly - what more could you want!!!”
Cannot believe that this property houses so many dogs - no smell, no doggy wear and tear - in fact nicer than some properties that won’t accept dogs!!!! The house is really comfortable, stylish and good quality. There is everything you could need in the house. The garden is dog proof - our little Houdini didn’t escape! and the property is literally a minute’s walk from the beach, much to the dogs’ joy! Just up the road is an arcade (loved by teenagers) a cafe, fish and chip shop and a pub (loved by adults)!!
I would thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing, chilled break - large enough to all have space but cosy enough. Excellent for dogs and children.
The beach !!
Be Aware:Really don’t want to criticise this amazing property but a couple of words of warning.....the stairs are really steep - managed by Dad needing hip replacement though, but only shower in property is on the top floor!! A downstairs loo would be good.
Also the access to the beach is via a big ramp which could also cause problems to the less mobile!
East Ruston Vicarage - 32 acres of fab gardens
The Ship at Mundesley - one of the best meals we have ever had.
Farm shop and butchers on the road to Stalham
Barry H, Frostenden, Suffolk - 29th September 2014
Owner’s Reply:’’Great review thanks Barry. It’s thanks to the great cleaner we have at St Benets that there is no lingering ’dogginess’ no matter how many dogs stay there. And her husband is a great help with the maintenance too a good team. The owners are always taking care to maintain, improve and refresh their lovely holiday house and I am glad it shows. So glad you enjoyed your holiday. The downstairs toilet is on the list for the future, not much we can do about the stairs but the banisters are a good help and very pleased your Dad was able to make it up and down OK. It really is a family friendly as well as dog friendly house! Thanks again’’ - Sue

“Just sublime”
St Benets is a fantastic house for entertaining or just to relax near to the sea. With less than a minute’s walk to the beach - which is mostly dog -friendly all year round -there are exceptional walks especially if you like to see the sunrise.
The house was really good for 8 adults with enough space to escape each other for afternoon naps. All the bedrooms were really comfortable and very clean.
Stalham is a very short drive away where we took a day boat on the Broads and restocked at Truly Local stores which is fab. Our party consisted of couch potatoes and Duracell bunnies all of whom found the right level of activities in which to partake.
The only drawback was that we had to come home. We have stayed in other East Ruston cottage properties and are yet to be dissapointed. If you love the beach, a little bit of fun and a glass of beer, then this is the place to stay.
Broads day boat hire
Walk to Horsey seals and the Lord Nelson pub.VbCrf
The Star pub at Lessingham
Sunrise walk on the beack at Sea Palling.
Truly Local at Stalham for locally sourced produce.
KB - Maldon, Essex - 14th September 2014
Owner’s Reply:
’’Great review Karen! Loved the Duracell bunnies and couch potato bit. That’s a great assessment of a holiday at St Benets. Lots of local stuff to do or just veg out (with flat screen TVs in most of the bedrooms that is something a lot of people do!)
I am sure you found that there was lots of beach to enjoy with your dogs to the right of the ramp (during the May September restrictions) with the walks down to Horsey and Waxham. Outside of the restricted times the whole of the beach is there to enjoy. Really glad you found Truly Local too a great little shop. I envy you those sunrise walks too!’’ - Sue

“St Benets at Sea Palling, A Great Base for a Great Holiday”
Property was well situated for beach and travelling. Welcome gifts when we arrived. Property suitable for families with children and-or dogs.
No night time disruptions. Well fitted house and amenities with good, safe garden. We very much enjoyed our stay. Everybody very friendly and helpful.
Very well equipped property with all you need for large groups. All beds are very comfortable and the bed linen is excellent. Management personnel of the property easily accessible especially by email.
Be Aware:Had problems with beach accessibility for wheelchair user.
Stairs of house are steep.
It is difficult to park three larger cars in property but car parking available nearby.
The beach - ideal for all the family and those with dogs. Dogs have a separate area of the beach and most owners act very responsibly. Life guards available at peak times.
En Route:Drove straight to destination but made trips during our time there to Wildlife Park (Thrugby Hall), the Broads for day boat rides.
Acle - The Bridge - excellent lunch.
Also visited Yarmouth, Wells next the sea, Cromer and a few other locations,
Margaret J, West Harrow - 24th August 2014
Owner’s Reply:’’Thank you Margaret for your fulsome review. Glad I was able to help out with the couple of problems you had during your stay. The beach at Sea Palling is a great place for dogs with the easy sandy beach and the rock reef providing calmer water. The separate area (the best bit of the beach for walking) is only during the main part of the season, May-Sept inclusive, outside of that the whole beach is accessible to dogs. Glad you found the beds comfy too that and the sea air should result in some good nights’ sleep!’’ - Sue

“A great dog-friendly place to stay in North Norfolk”
This was a family holiday for us and the first time we had all managed to get away together. Our party ranged from 19 to 84 and included four Jack Russells.
The property was well situated near the beach. It was very well equipped, the garden was dog-proof and the facilities were modern and well maintained.
The kitchen was very good and we turned out some great meals for 11 people all crowding round the kitchen table.
Despite two of our party being advanced in years the stairs were managed. The location is quiet, relaxing and great for the fantastic beaches. There is a general stores about 200 yards away too.
