“Our favourite place. Visit and I’m sure it will be yours”
A lovely cosy traditional lodge overlooking the beck, with the benefit of an undercover deck which was perfect for our 2 year old who played out even though it was raining.
Very peaceful and had everything we needed, including a gas barbecue which we used and all sat looking at the view perfect.
Would recommend this lodge to anyone - you would not be disappointed. We have been on this park three times now and can’t wait to go back again. Just lovely.
A lovely lodge - one of my highlights is the decking, a lovely sunny area but you can also sit under the canopy rain or shine, which is a bonus with our weather!
Local Gems:The Haybarn pub on site has a lovely atmosphere and lovely meals. We were all mixed ages so the pool table and darts and even something for the little ones was really good. Even the dogs enjoyed it.
En Route:On our route we stopped off at Mainsgill Farm shop on the A66 nice food you can sit inside and out. Lovely food.

“Perfect base for our walking holiday”
Our lovely, cosy cabin was right next to the river, looking out to hills, trees and sheep. We sat out on the veranda, in the sunshine, to enjoy our first cup of tea after the drive up listening to the sound of the river running, birds singing and lambs bleating in the distance.
Once inside the cabin it was really quiet as the double glazing cut out all outside noise so it was very peaceful and thankfully we didn’t get woken up at 6am with unfamiliar countryside noises..... being city dwellers we’re only used to traffic noise and police sirens !
We enjoyed four days of walking and one day we walked from the park over the hills to Ambleside and back and it was nice not to have to drive anywhere. The park is close to Windermere and Ullswater which are two very beautiful lakes. There’s a very pretty walk from Ullswater up around Aira Force and High Force waterfalls - it’s an easy walk, even suitable for small children, well worth a visit.
We ate at the Queens Head pub one night, it’s a short walk from the park, so you can have a lovely meal and a few drinks and walk home, perfect ! It’s really useful to have the flexibility to do some of your own cooking in the cabin, saving money and making the trip affordable. We loved our stay and will come back another time.
Walk to Aira Force and High Force from Lake Ullswater.
Walk up Striding Edge only in good weather ! to Helvellyn from Glenridding for amazing views, it’s a good energetic walk but there are easier routes.
We came for the fells and mountains and that is what we enjoyed, some time in the wilderness.
En Route:We did stop off at the National Motorcycle Museum on the way home to satisfy my other passion

“Highly recommend and when we have The Lakes tours dates for next year we will be booking again”
We had a great stay at the Lodge - it was well equipped and very comfortable. The site was lovely we had a good walk around, from the kids’ play area to the site shop. We had tea at The Haybarn Inn - the staff are really helpful and the food was great.
We also had take-out from The Wok Chinese take away, which was excellent and came recommended by a lady on reception.
The lodge was very well equipped with all we could expect. The shower was fab - after a long day out it was just what we needed and with plenty of hot water.
We liked the fact the site had the security barrier and fob in operation as we took our classic car and the extra security was great peace of mind.
Mark at Lake District Lodge Holidays
Local Gems:We did the Lakeside Car Museum which has great things for all the family and their cream tea was excellent
Also the Lakes Aquarium we all loved. The cafe was lovely and comfortable with a view on the lake - sit back and watch the world go by.

“Beautiful relaxing place to stay”
The Riverbank Lodge is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The lodge has everything you need for your stay, cooking utensils, oven, microwave, iron etc.
The fact that the lodge has an outside secure decking area was perfect for our dog. The property is perfect for families and couples especially if you want to take your dog too. The views from the three windows in the living area are all fabulous!
Enjoying a drink and-or a meal at The Haybarn Pub. It’s dog-friendly, extremely clean and the food and staff are great.

“Perfect - 10 out of 10”
The log cabin we stayed in was perfect, everything we wanted it to be and, to make things even better, we had Trout Beck running past our cabin.
The site itself was very clean and well maintained. The on-site pub was friendly, clean, warm and served great food.
People had dogs on site but they were very well behaved, and the views were spot on.....with snow on the hills.
We rate this park 10 out of 10 and yes we will be returning - very much so! Thank you to Mark for all your help - ideal holiday and we will recommend to all.
We recommend going into Windermere, as well as staying on site
Local Gems:The shops in Kendal are very nice and friendly
En Route:We went shopping in Kendal and Windermere - very nice shops

“A perfect little getaway to escape to”
This was the perfect break that we were after in between Christmas and New Year. Only stayed three days, but wish we had stayed longer.
The cabin comes with everything that you would need and has a great position right next to the river.
Our little dogs thought they were in doggy heaven with all the great walks that we took them on. Short walk to two great local gastro pubs too!
Great location with everything that you could possibly need either in the cabin or within short walking distance. The walks were lovely within the local area.
Local Gems:The Mortal Man and The Queen’s Head are only a short walk away and serve great food in lovely surroundings.

“Excellent for short break. Facilities are great at Limefitt Park”
Had a fantastic stay at Riverbank Lodge. Limefitt Park is ideal if you have dogs - ours loved the dog field where they could run around without leads.
Haybarn on site is very stylish and food and service was excellent. Also dog friendly.
Will definitely return.

“A Cumbrian Gem”
We stayed for four nights and wished we could stay longer.
The accommodation was excellent, a home-from-home - but with the most amazing views outside.
The only noise to be heard is the river running outside. We were after peace and quiet and we were delighted with our time there.
Will definitely go again and can’t recommend highly enough.
The surrounding countryside is gorgeous, would recommend some good walking shoes and a camera and just enjoy.
Local Gems:We really enjoyed visiting nearby Bowness, just a little over three miles away from Limefitt. Lots there to see and do. We particularly enjoyed a cruise on the lake, and the Beatrix Potter museum is great.

“Fantastic lodge situated on a site with all amenities”
Our stay in Riverbank Lodge was of an excellent standard. The booking process was fantastic - we found Mark Holdcroft (Lake District Holidays) very helpful and polite and accommodating to our last minute booking request to stay at Limefitt Park.
The location of the lodge is very nice as it overlooks the river but offers privacy and is very peaceful to just sit on the decking and relax listening to the river flowing. I would recommend a visit to The Haybarn Pub on site which offers friendly service and nice food. Views from the lodge are fantastic and surrounding areas are nice to visit eg Windermere, Ambleside and Kendal.
We would recommend this lodge to a family with children or a couple as it is very well equipped inside to prepare meals or have a BBQ without the hassle of finding somewhere to eat each night. We were very impressed as Riverbank Lodge is let on a self catering basis. The Adventure Playground and Rock Pools are ideal for families to take a picnic and sit by the rock pool.
The Haybarn Inn
Adventure Playground
Rock Pools
The Albert Hotel in Windermere for a fantastic meal at a reasonable price.
Kendal for the shops.
Hawkshead Brewery and a trip on the Ferry from Lakeside to Bowness.

“Lovely peaceful lodge by the running waters at Limefitt Park, Lakeland”
Our expectations were met in every way..... the lodge had everything you needed in it, it was very clean, it had a BBQ, table and chairs on the porch.
The situation was excellent in a quiet location though the lakes at Windermere were only a few minutes’ drive away. The scenery was fantastic, the running stream near our lodge was lovely, you could feed the ducks going by, there were horses just across the field - and it was so peaceful.
We would highly recommend it to everyone (we have passed it on to our family and friends already).
We are planning to visit again soon.
Would recommend a stay here without a doubt.
Local Gems:There is plenty to see and do, not only at Windermere but on the outskirts. There are lovely drives around the lake towards Bowness and down towards Ambleside.
