“A relaxing home-from-home holiday”
A stay at the Old Lanwarnick - Rainbow Cottage will not disappoint. The quality of the cottage is second to none - and you can enjoy the DVD supplied showing you the renovation project - great touch.
Jo and Mike couldn’t be more helpful - they even went and collected our Chinese takeaway on our last night (it was my partner’s birthday). It is so nice to stay somewhere of this quality with your dog, and your dogs are truly part of your holiday here.
Nice extra touches include dressing gowns, slippers, welcome hamper, 3D TV, hot tub, child gate to keep your pooch out of trouble! and dog sitting service.
Lane approaching the cottage is typical of a Cornish lane - but it is extremely quiet - follow Jo’s directions and you will not get lost.
At night be prepared for owls....it’s a great sound. It was an extremely relaxing stay and just what the doctor ordered - thank you
Listen to Jo’s advice for places to visit.
If you are travelling with a dog - places to visit that are not too far include...
St Mawes Castle
Bodmin Gaol
Restormal Castle
Loved the Blue Peter in Polperro and the Pride of Prussia in Fowey - both welcomed us and our dog and treats were supplied for our dog.
En Route:We popped into Mevagissey and had a walk around the very small Aquarium (again dogs allowed).

“Great property, stunning location, dog-friendly without being doggy! We loved it.”
We were surprised and delighted when we arrived, the property, the grounds and location all exceeded our expectations. What a stunning location!
We wanted something remote, in beautiful surroundings, but with a high end property where dogs would be made welcome. We were not disappointed.
The property itself was absolutely spotless and extremely well kitted out with high quality fixtures and fittings, all modern contemporary in style.
It was peaceful and only a short walk away to woods, or a drive to beaches and villages.
We didn’t find as many good quality eating places as we had hoped but a short trip to Fowey, or Padstow dealt with that.
The jacuzzi with amazing views and a lovely welcome pack were the icing on the cake!
We would recommend this specifically for people with dogs, as not only were stair gates provided to ensure the dogs were not wandering too far, there was an excellent dog exercise area.
To find something of such high quality where dogs were positively welcomed was fantastic. We will be back!
Lantic Beach on the South Coast path - stunning but a bit of a hike to get to.
En Route:Fingle Bridge - worth a leg stretch!

“Lovely relaxing place to stay”
We stayed here in March 2012 for 4 nights - our first trip to Cornwall.
The property was excellent, immaculately finished with modern up-to-date facilities. The addition of the log burner with unlimited logs was fantastic.
The owner, Joanna, was there to meet us on arrival and couldn’t have been more helpful.
The location was perfect for us, very quiet and relaxing with towns and villages just a short drive away.
We would definitely go back.
The quiet location
Local Gems:Rick Stein’s in Padstow is well worth a visit - it’s about 40 minutes away by car.
