“Peaceful, Homely, slice of heaven”
The barn was perfect in every way. It had all the amenities one could ask for.... and more. We could not have asked for more. Barn was situated, by car , between 5-15 minutes from beaches and forests. Local shops and good pub with nice atmosphere, good food and very attentative, 3 mins by car - 15 mins walking distance.
This area of Norfolk with its clear air , and lovely countryside was extremely clean and very relaxing. Dogs LOVED Bacton woods (Forest).
The Barn itself was very welcoming and unintrusive and, without doubt, all in all, probably the best accommodation we have stayed at in the UK. We will be booking again for next year. Thank you very much.
Milestone Barn itself - suitable for families, couples, dog- friendly and also equipped for people with mobility difficulties.
Very nice local pub-restaurant, the Vernon Arms.
Everything in easy reach but the property is still very private.
The Vernon Arms pub-restaurant in Gimingham.
Cromer town and beach-pier.
Mundesley beach . Happisbugh beach. Bacton woods.
Most pubs dog-friendly and all very welcoming.
Drove straight there. Easy drive from London.

“Heaven for dog walkers”
We and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Milestone Barn is a lovely base from which to enjoy some fabulous walking, we particularly enjoyed the walk along Paston Way to Mundersley, where the dogs enjoyed cooling down in the sea!
The area is particularly suited to dog walking due to the lack of livestock..... Having grown used to having to lift our large dogs repeatedly over stiles, the lack of them was a blessed relief!!
The barn is very comfortable and we loved the underfloor heating.

“Fabulous converted barn in peaceful countryside”
The property was the best appointed holiday property we have stayed in in 40 years of holidays! Perfect for us and dogs, with all home comforts, everything you could ever want. A lovely welcome pack to greet us on arrival, delightful location, with walks from the door and dog friendly beaches to be found within less than 10 minutes’ drive.
The local area is lovely and peaceful, we saw a wide variety of wildlife, Muntjac deer, swans, ducks, wagtails all very close to the barn. We saw seals at Horsey which was amazing!
There are lovely National Trust properties close by, and we went to Felbrigg Hall several times for the walks, and Blickling on the way to Gimingham, as well as Horsey Mill.
It is especially perfect for dog owners, but also for anyone who likes to fish, as there are several places we noticed for lake fishing as well as the sea.
Trimingham beach was our favourite for walking the dogs, and very near, but Mundesley was also lovely with great walks along the coastal path.
Cromer has a great car park with a huge grassy area to walk the dogs if you don’t want to walk down to the beach.
The Vernon Arms, in South Repps does great takeaway fish and chips, and a good choice of beers!
En Route:We visited Blickling Hall en-route which is a lovely National Trust property with estate walks.

Owner’s Reply:’’What a marvellous review of our lovely barn Mary, thank you so much and I know the owners too will be delighted that you had such a nice time and enjoyed the barn. The location does lend itself to some great days out, some good beach access and yet you can come back and enjoy the peace and quiet too, as you obviously did! Hope to see you again here ’’ - Sue

“Let’s put it this way.... I could have stayed for a month - it was perfect”
The Barn is a great place to stay - I couldn’t recommend it more. Everything about it was lovely - such a comfortable place to relax and enjoy Norfolk.
The garden is perfect for the dogs - we had three with us.....safe and secure. It is even better that a percentage of every booking fee goes to the dog rescue Many Tears, which is where two of my dogs came from.
Had a trip on a steam train from Sherringham to Holt which was all the better as the dogs were allowed as well. A definite 10 out of 10 all round.
PS Forgot to say we had a welcome pack left for our arrival - how thoughtful..... biscuits, dog treats, eggs and wine ......
Relaxing sitting at the table having a lovely meal glass of wine taking in the beauty of the view and the barn itself
Local Gems:Lovely local churches within walking distances to look in.
Boat trip on the broads and Blakeney Point where all stand outs.
And a lovely pottery in Cley next the sea

Owner’s Reply:’’Thank you so much for your glowing review. I don’t think I really need to add anything as your enthusiasm for and pleasure in Milestone Barn and the area is evident. A big thank you for taking the time to share with others’’ - Sue

“Excellent for a peaceful holiday in lovely accommodation and surrounding area”
Excellent accommodation, very use- friendly and dog-friendly. We loved it - perfect for sightseeing, very well appointed and peaceful. It reminded us very much of rural France.
Very suitable for those with limited mobility and very eco-friendly. The dogs settled very quickly - a home from home. Also loved the fact that the owners donate a percentage of the takings to Many Tears where one of our dogs came from.
Good for those with limited mobility.
Good for dogs
Would be good for small children
The property is near farm land so be aware that dogs may need to be kept on a lead, but very enjoyable walks.
Local Gems:Winterton On Sea, can recommend the cafe on the beach, lovely bacon rolls. Also homemade cakes.
Horsey to see the seals - a beautiful sight.
Did not need to stop as only 2hrs for us.

“Milestone Barn was a great find and we will be going back”
Milestone Barn is furnished to a high standard. It lies on a quite country lane with two well-signed footpaths within 50 yds of the barn - one takes you to the coast approx 2 miles. There is a wonderful pub good food and allows dogs in about 1.5 miles.
Our stay in Milestone Barn was very relaxing and we will be going back.
Well set up for dogs - secure garden even throws for the two leather couches.
Well situated to get to beaches and woodland walks, or just sitting in the garden watching the birds.
The Vernon Arms in South Repps good pub food, cask ales and welcomes dogs.
Sea Palling beach miles of great sand.
Seal watching at Horsey Gap

“Cosy, dog-friendly, spacious barn conversion.”
Milestone Barn is a cosy single-storey property in a rural setting, but near to the many stunning beaches in north Norfolk. It is designed to be eco-friendly, and has a very efficient under-floor heating system, and lashings of hot water.
A very thoughtful touch was a basket of goodies left for us, fresh eggs, wine, homemade shortbread cookies, and dog treats too. The barn is mostly open plan, with a wet-room style shower in the bathroom. The main bedroom has a very comfortable king-sized bed, and fluffy pillows and duvet.
We found it easy to get to Mundesley, Sea Palling, and Winterton beaches, which are all dog-friendly (check tide times) Bacton Woods is another of our favourite places, great for the dogs, and superb in the Autumn colours,
This property has a fully enclosed garden, and is ideal for dogs
Cosy evenings in front of the wood-burner.
Local Gems:Fair Maid, at Happisbugh for great, fresh shellfish, smoked fish etc
Happisbugh, Sea Palling, Winterton beaches, all fantastic, and great for your dogs.
Waitrose at North Walsham (they will deliver)
