“Feels like home”
I’ve stayed at Harbour Court thirteen times in the last thirteen years, sometimes bed and breakfast, sometimes self-catering.
When staying in Porthmadog, I refer to it as home, because it feels more like that than a place I happen to be staying for a few days.
The place has a generous but relaxed welcome about it as the owner really cares about you having a good time in the area, and makes good recommendations about places to go and places to eat.
If you are a narrow-gauge railway enthusiast, it’s the perfect place to stay because the Welsh Highland Heritage, Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways are all within walking distance.
If you want to explore the area by bus (highly recommended), you are a couple of minutes’ walk from Porthmadog’s main bus stops.
The public artwork in Blaenau Ffestiniog is stunning. www.blaenauffestiniog.orgpoetry. Allow at least a couple of hours to enjoy it all. Free guidebooks are available from shops in Blaenau.

“Felt like we were staying with an old friend”
We chose this B and B because, although it was in a quiet part of the town near the Harbour, it was close to the Heritage Narrow Gauge railway station in Porthmadog and we could leave our car and walk there in five minutes.
We had a lovely stay and we were made to feel at home right from day one. Clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms, tasty breakfasts served cheerfully and friendly chat when we came home every evening.
We would definitely book with Harbour Court again.
Friendly atmosphere
Local Gems:We enjoyed the Thai restaurant
nearby
and the Heritage Narrow Gauge Railways
Pontsycyllte Aqueduct was scary but very impressive and great fun!

“Perfect retreat. Perfect accommodation. Highly recommended”
Lovely property, full of character, ideally situated right on the harbour. Perfect for touring surrounding areas.
B&B en-suite accommodation absolutely spotless and had everything you could possibly want. Yvette, the owner, was there when you needed her but never ’in your face’
Breakfast was what we wanted, when we wanted it, just had to tell Yvette the night before - great!
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Harbour Court to anyone wanting to visit this area.
There are three pubs in the next village (Tremadog) only a couple of minutes’ drive away. The Golden Fleece did good food. There are penty of eateries in and around Porthmadog.
Nice places to visit include Dolgellau, Bala and Cricceith.
Portmeirion is well worth a visit but wait until after 3.30 when admission is half price and you will still have plenty of time to see everything before it closes at 7.30 p.m.
Barmouth is a lovely place to visit for a few hours.
Morfa Nefyn was a beautiful little bay where people launch their boats from the beach.
Betws-y-Coed is stunning - waterfalls, walking etc, nice pubs and restaurants and lots of outdoor shops.
Stopped off at Caernarfon on the way, and Conway on the way home. Both are worth a visit.
