“Heaven on earth”
We came with little expectations and were totally blown away by this absolutely magical place. There is something very special about the setting, the gypsy wagon and how it makes you slow down to a stop.
The wagon is a delight to sleep in and the cabin provides all you need for a weekend away in a peaceful idyll. Take the time out to find yourselves and each other, read the visitors’ guest book and come to realise that you are in the company of souls that have walked the same meadows, hills and lanes only to go home refreshed and with a new outlook on life.
If you are looking for a home-from-home break then don’t come here... BUT if you want to experience what it could be like to cook, live and sleep under the stars with only the sound of a Nightingale and an Owl for company then bring your cheesecloth shirts, skirts and blouses, put your dangly earring in and have a life changing time.
Doing nothing, seeing no one and soaking up the peace.
Local Gems:Try a trip to the Hunters Moon pub - the locals are so incredibly friendly.
If you need provisions then Abergavenny is the nearest place that sells bread, eggs, milk etc and it’s a 20 minute drive at the least.
The Walnut Tree does nice posh food, but it really did not blow us away.
Stop off at Ross and stock up on essentials.

“Experience the Gypsy life!”
The Wind in the Willows is a charming little gypsy caravan with all mod cons in the adjacent wooden lodge.
It is isolated and peaceful.
Although initially in a large field with sheep, the cottage caravan is situated in a secure garden for our dogs.
Even with lots of country smells to distract two lively Spaniels we were able to relax with the doors open in the evenings knowing the dogs (& sheep) were safe.
It is situated close to nearby Abergavenny, with lots of beautiful walks for all.
Walks from Abergavenny, following laminated locals walks available from the Tourist Information at only GBP1 each.
Be Aware:There is no television or internet, and very limited mobile phone signals, but we saw this as a positive.
Local Gems:Walks up Sugarloaf Mountain and Table Mountain - the views are beautiful
En Route:We visited Hay on Wye on our journey home
